Probably heal the sick and preach against going to church while the pandemic is on. No joke, there's a Bible verse where Jesus says that people who pray in public are hypocrites who are simply performing for their fellow man and true believers should pray quietly at home. I had quite a few Christian friends and family wielding that verse against people who were going to church purely to demonstrate how "faithful" they were to others.
Viruses are great mother Nature's immune system, desperately trying to get rid of her parasites. And what are the parasites doing ?! They invent vaccines to disrespect her further!! Humanity is disgusting...

What really pisses me off is the fact that the characters complain about celebrations and parties and meet-ups but ignore the fact LITERAL FUNERALS COULDNT HAPPEN. My cousin passed 3 years ago and hasn’t had a proper funeral, which makes it feel almost like we didn’t get to say goodbye to him. I remember when the PM or premier or whichever jurisdiction announced the first lot of restrictions where I lived, when speaking about funerals, he made a huge deal of 'yes, I know how hard this one is going to be,' acknowledging it was the worst restriction of them all. But these writers couldn't think of that?
My mom couldn't be buried & had to be cremated, when being cremated is the only thing she DIDN'T want when she died. It was honestly upsetting I couldn't get her buried like I wanted.
Fr not only did my Grandma die of Covid because they put all the patients in a rehab for old people but we still haven’t been able to have any type of memorial service for her yet and she died in 2021
I think about my dad who lost his sister just as Covid was making its rounds in the west; she passed away of stomach cancer around January of 2020 and my dad was offered to attend her funeral. My family lives in Australia & my dad's immediate family's from California, so he was offered to have the expenses of that flight to be paid for him. The lockdowns came and he couldn't go to say goodbye to his own sister off in person; nor could her own children and the other people in her life. My dad would pass away in his sleep in the middle of 2022 due to a sudden heart attack, and we were fortunate enough to be able to send him off with a funeral. The whole time, though, I just thought about how he couldn't see his own sister off, because of the lockdowns coming into action. I was grateful to be there to give him my farewell, but I was sad that he couldn't do the same to his own estranged family, or anyone else who'd lost someone during 2020 & 2021 that they couldn't see off, due to a global pandemic putting us at risk. But good to know these people know who really suffered, and that was people not allowed to attend parties or go to restaurants for a few weeks/months. Not the people who lost their lives or suffer with possibly lifelong affects of COVID, not people who couldn't say goodbye to lost love ones, but people who couldn't go out and have a nice time.

i can’t get over the idea that a global language is either a bad thing or something that can be developed in just 5 years and only as the result of a global tragedy
It means the death of culture and language and for me as a German who loves his language, I view it as a bad thing. But let's look at German history for a second. High German became the official language of the German Empire in 1905 and it took about three generations of teaching it to people before we really started to use it nationally. And even some of our grandparents still only speak a dialect and don't know a word of High German. If it took us that long to develop a national language, it'd take much longer for the entire world 😂

In this movie, for sure. But it is an unfortunate reality in other parts of the world. Especially the Middle East. I have many friends who were Christian, gay or both that had to flee because they were constantly being hate crimed and they needed to flee to save their lives. Persecution is not funny and shouldn’t be taken as a joke. The fact that you wouldn’t say that for other religions also says a lot.

Persecution isn't funny but neither is pretending to be marginalised when you're in a country where the majority of the country is of the same religion as you. In some middle-east countries, yes, there is persecution for those who aren't muslim but the comment wasn't about that.

But this comment was general and that includes Christian’s speaking up against persecution for all the right reasons. Life in North America is not the reality for other parts of the world. Also just because there are a lot of Christian’s in North America doesn’t mean that things do not happen to Christians here either. There is a lot more nuance to this situation

I was born in what people would call a "developing country", now living somewhere else where life is better. It never ceases to amaze me how people who basically have known nothing but privilege feel they are being robbed of their rights if they're put in a mildly inconvenient position. Dude, people spent the days watching Netflix during the lockdowns here, while there was people in my country who had to decide between quarantine or starvation.

I mean there were plenty of people who had it really bad during the early lockdowns in the US - but the biggest complainers about the covid restrictions are the people who could easily live comfortably in their homes for the next 50 years without worrying about money or their mental health, AND people who wear glasses because their glasses fog up with the masks on but they still wear masks anyway. I've had to wear a mask longer than most people and I'm so fucking tired of it because of these selfish dickheads who can't just mask up, wash hands, and stay home.

I'm in a region where the virus is completely out of control, cases are sky high, hospitals are overwhelmed, and hardly anyone is vaccinated due to getting their news from bullshit on social media, but masks are still required most places. The cops here mostly don't wear masks. It's literally the only accurate part of this piece of shit movie.
I think they're trying to say the government doesn't follow its own rules. Which has been quite true during the pandemic especially with cops and politicians like Boris in the UK and Gavin in California.

But in cases like China and France, the persecution isn’t arising directly from Christians, as France and China are largely non-Christian/secular, or don’t have an as-deeply-ingrained and influential Christian culture (at least, for France, not anymore). It’s more akin to generalized xenophobia, especially in China. China is huge on cultural homogeny, France hates brown people.

I just fucking dove right into the rabbit hole and first of all, his child bride is roughly the same age as me, we’re both German and Christian, so seeing her Insta page shocked me, cause we share a lot of experiences. Seeing her as a teen, I see me. I also almost got fucking groomed in the church. But also they were traveling in the summer of 2020. They didn’t even face most of the restrictions that most Westeners faced. Also, this is just an assumption but they seem pretty well off to me, making this all even more INSANE.

I myself have been with 19/20 year olds when I was only 14. My then best friend just married a man she has been with since she was 16 and he was 25. Its hard to talk about it because once you say anything negative, people will immediately attack you because they're so used to this being seen as normal and ok. It sucks but this is the reality for most young girls over here who genuinely believe they're "mature for their age" and that it's "just a 6 year age gap. Because nobody would care if they were 33 and 39".

Not sure if anyone picked up on this, but the director/lead basically cast himself as Jesus. The movie starts with him basically alone, wanting to spread the word of god. Then he starts gaining close companions that assist him in spreading the word of god. The State gets real mad about it. A close friend betrays him, and sells him out. Then the State kills him, and he becomes a martyr. Short of miracles and rising from the dead that’s pretty much the story, and I’m pretty sure that’s sin number 1406 in this saga. 1 way ticket to super hell
