    • I get that. Men have it hard too though, but not so much harder as to call the way women have it, easy mode. For men, its the contant disregard of our feelings, being told to man up all the time. Cant speak out to our friends alot of the time, and its embarrassing to talk about our problems with our families. The positive traits of being a guy are often tauted as toxic masculinity. Then theres toxic feminism. Then theres the wage gap that with enough common sense, you could easily find out has nothing to do with unfairness but a multitude of things, such as industries and jobs men prefer to work in, that women dont amongst other things. Theres just alot of hate for men that the incel communities cant really match, thank god for that but im just saying, it doesnt really go both ways in that respect. Both genders have their own issues.

    @hkokoo@hkokoo Жыл бұрын
    • Youknow, I recently heard a man complain that women never give out compliments to men. And I told him that I have tried to compliment some men, like on their backpack or their shirt. And they always smile, say thanks and immediately follow me around with their phone in their hand, asking for my snapchat, insta, kik or twitter or whatsapp. If I shake my head and say; 'No, sorry it was just a compliment, I am not interested in anything else', they lose controll and start cursing, saying I can't lead them on like that. I love getting compliments from men about my dress (one comment, not following me around) or hair or 'hey, looking good!' as they pass by, but not in a creepy way and not with a weird undertone. And I give the same compliments, but always get expectations in return and then anger, when I cannot meet the expectations. I have stopped giving out compliments because of this, but I'd love to start again, as long as I know it'll be properly received as just a compliment (amplified by the fact I casually say it and keep walking as I speak.)

      @hkokoo@hkokoo6 ай бұрын
    • @@hkokoo Oohh the cold bitch one, yes! My mother taught me when I was 12 that when a boy/guy tells me that he wants to buy me something small (let's say between 0,50 or 3 euro's. Like a hotdogbun or a peppermint-roll) then I have to stop him for a moment and think. She said; 'You don't owe them anything, but they might think you do. So, look at them for a second and think to yourself; Is there ány way this can become a relationship? Ány way I might kiss him or something?" If you are in doubt, then you can let him pay, but not anything over 3 euro's. If you don't like the guy in that way, be immediately clear with him. Before he pays, lean over, grab his arm gently, smile politely and say quietly to protect his privacy (but still very clearly to him) "Thanks, I just want you to know that I think of you as a *good* friend!" You then nod, smile and lean back." I asked what'd happen and she said; 'You'll realise immediately if they are good friends or not. If they are a good friend, they will thank you and buy you the peppermint-roll.' I have done this several times, with several guys and boys, every time before they pay anything for me. Even the smallest things, like offering to share a bag of crisps or pay extra for ice in my drink. And *ever time* I thanked them for being a good friend, they have done one of the following; - Got a frozen face, stared me in the eyes angrily and said; 'Nevermind' and walked off. - Slammed their hand on the marketstall/counter and said; 'Oh so you were leading me on?!' - Thrown their wallet on the floor, stamped their feet and shouted; WHY WHY WHY? WHY?!!! - Scream loudly and grab their wallet and walk away quickly, never to talk to me again - Turn to the lady behind the counter and say loudly; 'ONLY ONE HOTDOGBUN PLEASE.' And then stare at me angrily and whisper; 'Pff pay for yourself.' - Ask me why I'd say that and try to counterargue they were not a good friend at all. I said it was friendly of them to offer to pay and they'd say; 'Hmm..well..yeah..hm..I don't want that anymore. I'm going home.' The last one was the friendliest, I think. But I have _never_ had a man actually *pay* for the Mars-bar or hotdogbun. Unless you count 2 people that did, but then immediately (as I took a bite) said that they now wanted me to be their girlfriend, because they paid for me and I owed them. None of them were real friends, all of them had other motives.
