Devin, Now in this age, 2019, Coupé means more like frameless doors than 2 doors.
Audi has it right. They call their 4 door coupes fastbacks. Everyone needs to follow suit. However, meanings change or terms get added meanings over time as things evolve. Coupe now means anything with a sloped rear end. Get used to it.

I’m sure someone already said this but the panamericana grill is from the 1952 Carrera Panamericana where Mercedes won first and second place. Check out the grill on the winning cars and and you’ll see why they call it that. Great video!! I love this car!

When I first saw this car come out...especially with the new monoblock wheels, it was jaw dropping. They did it right with this car. Looks mean, and still practical. One of my new favourite cars

Thanks for a great review guys. I watched this many times waiting for my GT63. I went with selenite mango exterior, same Saddle brown interior with gloss black (your favorite). I got mine 7 days ago and it’s by far my favorite AMG to date!

Just drove one on the track, it was a great time, through the really tight corners you can definitely feel the weight of the vehicle. But you can keep pushing and pushing it and it still holds its line. The one I drove didn't have Carbon Ceramics so the brakes got real toasty and every time I came Into the pits they were smoking. But I never lost faith in them. Great car, looking forward to putting more laps on them.

This looks way better than Panamera. Not fan of the rear spoiler, but otherwise it is one of the most beautiful cars today (coming from a BMW fan, says a lot). And it might be one of the best cars overall. Nicely done guys, keep up the good work.

Fantastic review, as usual! Love this car. It is beautiful inside and out. If money was no object I'd definitely put this one on the short list. Two things are kind of fails, at least in my book. First, the back seats should fold now on every model of a fast back design. It defeats the purpose not to be avle to do so. And, most importantly, with such a slanted rear glass, this car needs a rear wiper blade. Driving cars with rear glass as such slated angles during rain or snow is an absolute nightmare. Engineers/designers can do it, they are just being lazy and not logical about it. Even the Porsche Panamera offers a wiper blade as an option, at least in previous models, not sure about the latest iteration. Keep up the grrat work, guys!

Mercedes are starting to grow on me. I haven't really liked their looks since the 2010 C-Class but this one ain't bad!
Great exhaust note. I like the look of this car and of course the power, you can never have too much power. I’m kind of liking the satin colour palettes that are available these days. No mention of pricing. I know this car is way above my pay grade but it would be nice to know the price range.

The AMG is more rare than the Panamera, the Sport Turismo is cooler but there's more Panameras in general. If you wanna stick out get the AMG GT
The AMG gt 4 door just came out of course there’s less then the panamera.
The AMG GT 4 Door is actually a CLS with a different center console and little different exterior, the V6 engine is the same and the V8 is the one of the MB AMG E63. The Panamera shares platform with the Audi A6 / A7 and the Bentley Continental GT but thats all. So the Porsche has an interior and exterior more unique than the MB althought the MB looks more aggressive
And it’s faster

Saw one of these in black with the monoblocks.....They don't look the prettiest in picture and video but in person they have a serious presence to them.
I did the sun visor test in my own car today, and to my astounding moment, it passed the sun visor test. I’ve own the car for 6 month and I never knew it pulled back to give and extra inch or so. Thank you straight pipe for helping me realize my sun visor extends :)

Love the exterior and interior styling, especially the ambient and accent lighting. I would not choose the rear wing option. Would rather have a smaller lip spoiler, unless I needed the extra down force on a track or something. The 5 boxes was cheating in the box test, you can't count it the same way as in a Panamera or Audi A7, that has a proper folding rear seat. Performance wise, that AMG is rediculous, until you drag it against a Tesla Model S P100D.
This is 100% my favorite looking Mercedes ever. Damn so sexy inside and out.

Jalopnik posted an article a couple of weeks ago about the origins of the word, and they found it meant cut off at the back. So I guess technically the fastback design is coupe design. I don’t agree, but it’s an interesting article none the less.

Golf is clearly a Hatchback. We're talking about the Coupe Sedan, which contradict each other.
@@GRiiZZ This is clearly about language application. What coupe means to the designer (sloped roof) as opposed to what it means to the consumer (2 doors). MB brought back the original description.
