Jonathan Ferguson, a weapons expert and Keeper of Firearms & Artillery at the Royal Armouries, breaks down the weaponry of Far Cry 6, including the Exterminador, a backpack full of rockets, and the Discos Locos, a CD launcher that plays the Macarena.
In the latest video in the Firearm Expert Reacts series, Jonathan Ferguson--a weapons expert and Keeper of Firearms & Artillery at the Royal Armouries--breaks down the guns of Far Cry 6 and compares them to their real-life counterparts.

It's still a very absurd concept, but actually recognising the parts used to create it is pretty funny and also pretty creative on the art team.

  • Love the addition of the Hk21. Its a fantastic LMG design that has its history in lesser-known worldwide conflicts, and was popular for having the same controls as the G3. Given its history in the Salvadoran Civil War and Portugal in the Colonial Wars, Its not only a realistic weapon for Far Cry 6; but also Far Cry 2’s setting.

    @AnonEMus-cp2mn@AnonEMus-cp2mn2 жыл бұрын
    • *IM NOT SURPRISED BY THIS BUT* One thing they got wrong with the hk 21 in game model is the links. If you look the links are coming out of the weapon right side up like an M60 or most LMGs that use disintegrating links. BUT on the hk 21 platform the links face downward. On most LMGs that use those links there is a saying brass to the grass meaning keeping the links facing upward and the bass downward when loading. But the HK 21 has a slightly different feed mechanism where you would place the brass upward or towards the sky and the links downward. You can actually see this if you look at his cutaway HK21 the brass is facing upward and the links are facing downward. It's a sight mistake but as a gunsmith I couldn't miss it. LOL all these games end up having very slight problems most normally like this one that really don't matter to much.

    • @@AnonEMus-cp2mn the one I use to fire we always used the disintegrating links but it looks like the weapon was designed for the none disintegrating links. I do believe you can run either. Got some contradictory information for a bit there LOL. Im not sure if the weapon needs to be modified or not to take disintegrating links because the none disintegrating links have different spacing between the rounds than none disintegrating links. The weapon I used for sure used disintegrating links but it may have been modified or not? That I'm unsure of.

      @roberttrester4030@roberttrester40302 жыл бұрын
    • @@roberttrester4030 I am not sure of different belt systems need to be modified to work together, but I do know that the removable belt-feed assemblies on the E models can be swapped to work with either 7.62 or 5.56 belts (turning the Hk21 into the Hk23). As you pointed out in the first comment, because its built like an upside-down belt-fed, the brass faces up regardless of the configuration.

Securing both to a strong and stable enough base to maintain zero would be the real hard part. Plus if you don't want it to explode when you drop it you would need a durable housing. Probably be easier just to buy one.
