I like how he says what some people typically think of when they hear shotgun. When I hear shotgun, I think the Winchester Model 1897 “Trench Gun”.
I had guessed that the difference between the two shotguns was in the spread rather than actual power, the narrower spread just killing more reliably. I am a bit surprised there was no mention of the Automag or the handgun found on the tanker. I do like how he could see that the 10 round magazine on the Glock was a compromise between realism and gameplay balance, as Resident Evil usually has characters with 10 to 15 round handguns at the start.
The shotgun from Not A Hero reminds me of a mix of a SRSS Bulldog 7.62 front, KSG iron sights, Some mock-up of a AA-12 Pro Mag, and a Saiga Sporting Stock

It did bother me a little that the M19 was firing with its hammer up, as well as that it stayed up after the slide cycled. It's an overtly gun-nerd detail to fuss about so I can see why it would go unmentioned.
would love to see Jonathan React to the Kendo Gunshop videos
Here's a bit of trivia for you about the Bizon. As Jonathan rightly said, its derived from the Kalashnikov family of rifles. I'd like to put a bit more of an emphasis on the word 'family', there. The team of engineers who developed the weapon was headed by Victor Kalashnikov, the son of the AK family creator and namesake, Mikhail. Another member of the design team for the Bizon was Alexei Drugunov... whose father, Yevgeny, created the SVD sniper rifle.
Here in the USA the magazine capacity is NOT restricted to 10 rounds at a federal level. Some states (10 iirc) do have capacity limits for pistols and long guns.
GameSpot better be paying this dude well for doing these videos.
I would love to see a breakdown of the guns from the Sniper Elite series.
In Arizona, cops here actually only carry *16* rounds in a magazine. According to the policeman I asked, he quipped "It's because they (the department) know we can't count."
Interesting post, Jonathan, thanks for putting it up. One game that models flamethrower action semi-realistically is Steel Division 2. A wargame, rather than an FPS, but as you would expect, flamethrower teams can have a devastating effect on troop morale, with many units falling back, or plain routing, if attacked. Keep up the good work, lots of interesting posts!
