How do you stay alive with Ms.Santee pew pewing you so often? I'd be happy to see more westerns show up in the movies, as long as there's less CGI as Hollywood uses these days. Pew pew Ms.Santee, I say that with a smile. You guys crack me up sometimes!
It's all good! Pew-Pew! :)
🥃
In the Philippines it's called Araw ng lahat ng kaluluwa (All souls day). They light candles, put out flowers and have meals at the grave of loved ones. They don't do the face painting. But even those who live in the cemeteries will dress in their best attire for the occasion. My daughter and her momma always include me in it via video chat.
So neat!!!
Yeah, my wife is Honduran and, according to her, the face painting, skeletons and eerie stuff is uniquely Mexican. Other Latin American catholic countries spend day of the dead cleaning up the graves of family and that’s about it.
Awesome content as always. Have a blessed weekend.
Thank you! You too!
What a fun episode. I can't wait to watch those new westerns. Great stuff. All that Dia de Los Muertos is straight up from my family. Ha Thanks again my friends.
You're welcome.
That’s awesome you met Ralph mouth I love happy days. I watched it all the time too. As a kid God I’m old just turned 50.
It happens!
Thanks Santee! Have a great weekend.
You have a great weekend, too
Very good video today Santee. Thanks. Be safe out there and take it easy.
Thank You!
I celebrate it every year in honor of my Father and the rest of my family and friend's who have passed on
That's amazing!
Great history lesson
Thank You!
Happy dia de los murtos, that is great news to hear you came out on a film 🎥 awesome 👍
Thank You!
Thanks again Santee , For Keeping The Old West Alive 😊
Always!
Cool subject!
Thank You!
Very cool Santee! I have a couple movies to watch now!! YAY!
Yeehaw!
Short but sweet and a Happy Dia De Los Muertos to you and the Ghostriders team!
Thank You! You as well!
Wonderful!! New westerns ! Keep up amigo!
I appreciate you!
@ArizonaGhostriders book recommendation" Man hunters of the old west by Robert k DeArment 👍
I like the artistry that is used in The Day of the Dead celebrations. I have a box of Day of the Dead 6x6 inch clay painted tiles. All full of human skeletons, some with a skeletal cat complete with a skeletal fish. They are full of humor, like bathing, reading a newspaper on the toilet and afather and son fishing for a few examples.
I love them too! Especially some of the artwork out here.
Thank you for sharing the history of the day of the dead and looking forward to seeing those new westerns. Hopefully, maybe I can see him on KZhead.
You're welcome!
I’ve been to several dia de los muertos celebrations. Thx for this video. You’ve done a good history for this video.
Our pleasure!
I am over-ready for some new, quality westerns. Have watched all the (free) good ones on Utube and most of the B,C,D & F grade ones. It's getting more and more difficult to combine good and free on this platform. Thanks, Santee.
Best of luck!
Hello Ghost Riders. Your friend Ted here. I definitely enjoyed the episode man and I look forward to new westerns coming out. Stay safe man
Thank you so much Ted!
I wondered what Donny Most was up to these days. Enjoy the information on the Day of the Dead festival. That is really kind of cool that it's picking up like it is. Thanks again Santee 🤠
You're welcome.
Looking forward to seeing you in the movies.
Thank You!
“Is that your Bowie, or are you just glad to see me.” On another note, a few of my friends were in “The Outlaw Johnny Black” which just came out.
Cool! Hope they enjoyed the process.
Well done Santee! You stud you!
Thank You!
When I was in middle school a lot of the kids from Central America introduced us to this. Even made us a lot of sweet foods. Sugar Skulls were really good.
Cool!
Loved it!
Good!
I think El Dia de los Muertos is a healthy and cheering way to deal with grief. I agree there's nothing to fear about passing on. I'm not of Mexican descent, but on my dresser top I have bouquets of faux marigolds, several LED votive candles, and photos of my mom, my younger sister, and my husband, who all passed away years ago. BTW Hope you had fun being a movie actor!
YEP! Like I mentioned, it's not just for the hispanic culture. We can all do it. Glad you celebrate!
YAHOOO new Western movies coming! They don't make enough Western movies! Thanks Santee!🤠🇺🇲
You're welcome.
Loved this video Santee. Thank you so much!
Glad you enjoyed it!
That is so cool that you’re in two movies, Santee! I don’t care if it’s for a few seconds, or if you’re a supporting or lead! Congrats to you! That’s awesome! PEW PEW!
Much appreciated, BJ! Yeah, it's a lot of fun to do them. I guess this is my twelth film, and each time it feels like the first time.
@@ArizonaGhostriders oh my gosh! 12?! That is damned awesome! And thank you so much for coming through tonight! You made everyone’s night!
I had heard of the "Day of the Dead", but didn't know much about it. Thank you for filling in the gaps.🙏🏻 Those movies sound cool. CONGRATS, for being in the movie, Santee. *Noone does more to keep the "Old West" alive than you do. Enjoyable clips, and audios, AS ALWAYS. YIPPEE and YAHOO. 🎊🤠🥳
So very appreciated Rhonda.
Like you I have heard of the Day of the Dead, but my knowledge of it is also limited. I do know that one day each year the Romans would visit the graves of their ancestors where they would share food and drink, though I have a feeling that this goes back much further than that.
@@bigblue6917 Neither did I.🤠
Great episode Santee. I now know more about the day of the dead. Those new movies look good. Have a great weekend! Cheers!
You as well!
Great video and congratulations on being in the movie. Yeeee Hawww
Thanks!!
I've heard of the day of the dead over the years. it is interesting to say the least . I Would like to see those movies, I'll look out for them another awesome job , thank you
You're welcome!
I'll keep my eye out for that movie!
Thank You!
Another great video thank you
Glad you enjoyed it
good stuff brothers!
Thank You!
Jut drove through Arizona on I40 from East to west. First time in the state and beautifyl! It won't be the last time and I'll make sure there is time to stop and check out the area.
Cool!! Glad you liked what you saw.
I always learn sumptin' new from yuah thar, Santee. Keep up the great work!
I appreciate that!
Thanks for another entertaining video, can’t wait to see you in the movie coming soon
Thank You!
Great video Santee, thanks for sharing it. Looking forward to seeing those new westerns. JT
You bet
That’s awesome for you Santee!
Thank You!
Another Good one. AND... Thanks for the "pew pew" Mrs Santee
Our pleasure!
That really cool I will have to check those western movies out.
Thank You!
That is so cool Santee. Being in the movies with some cool actors. Have a great weekend. Also love how they dress up with there painted faces for the day of the dead. :)
Right? I love the look. So fancy for the dead!
Great job Santee!
Thank you! Cheers!
Mrs Santee as a Penguin... well that makes perfect sense. 😎🤣
Yeah? 🤣
Thank you..... "Scourge of Tucson"
You are very welcome.
I went to get my face painted. The artist said he couldn’t do anything scarier than the original God gave me. 😂 Great to see Donny Most and as always another entertaining production. 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Thank You!
Thank you Ghostriders for putting forth accurate aspects of the frontier West. Might be interesting to explain how the traditional Hollywood westerns silliness evolved from the Wild West shows of Wild Bill, the 101 Ranch, the silents (Ford, Carey, others) to the novel The Virginian, and the creation of the Hollywood cowboy. Also info on what the cattle tenders actually wore and how the modern up swept felt rodeo hat became the icon from movies, As a film nerd my favorite actor is Harry Carey. Yeah, I'm an old guy😊
Thank you so very much for sharing and watching.
Always a good one Santee!
Thanks again!
Love the Day of the Dead celebrations . Sounds like you had some fun on set while filming . Awesome new movies to look forward to. Great penguin costume pewpew . Have a great weekend. Keep Safe❤Keep Well ❤
Thank You!
My God! When did Donnie Most get old? He's about a year and a half older than I am, but I'm still young!
He's still got it!
Yo Santee! Truly GREAT proper 19th-Century cowboy hat in this one. Much more common type for the Great Plains and northern areas less influenced by Mexican Sombrero shapes. You've got that little Three Musketeers thing going perfectly, there.
Glad you like it. It's actually a Boss of the Plains, so the popular Stetson hat of the time period.
Yes, I thought so. @@ArizonaGhostriders
This is a big thing for my family and I… we leave offerings and pictures at church, go to various events. I spend the days really focusing on those I’ve lost. I don’t like how modern society basically ignores the dead whereas they are much more present in the lives of the living in older societies.
So great you do it!
Another good one, Santee!
Thanks for listening
Wouldn’t miss it for anything!
Great video Santee
Glad you enjoyed it, Led!
A few more videos about the day of the dead and I won’t have to work so hard to convince my wife we need to move to AZ. 😉
Yeah??🤠
@@ArizonaGhostriders we were pretty close when we got back. We are thinking about it in the next few years now that my company has offices in Tucson.
Very neat
Thank You!
In Ecuador they go to the cemetery and fix up the niches, and honor there loves one's, put flowers ,paint and clean up the area
Nice!
I just wish the new westerns were hitting the theaters.
Theaters don't mean a feature film anymore. Times are changing. We are seeing blockbusters coming out on streaming services these days.
@@ArizonaGhostriders Yeah, I know. But it’s just not the same as the big screen experience. I’m just showing my age.
Happy Dia de Los Muertos to all of our friends of Spanish ancestry and all of us ghostriders NOT from Arizona look forward to checking out the new movies coming out just to check out what you're up to Santee when someone other than Mrs. Santee is directing you..like that ever happens. LOL.
HAHAHAHA!!!
@@ArizonaGhostriders 😂
You have no idea! ;)
I notice a HUGE Day of the Dead theme on a lot of costumes this year. Cheers to another great video Arizona Ghostriders!
Thank You!
Interesting topic my friend. Also impressive you got to work on those movies. Must watches.
Well.....let's just hope they are all good!
I will be looking for them.
Cool!
Have you seen Dead for a Dollar ? I had never heard of it, but it was on TV and since Christoph Waltz is in it I had to watch and see if his accent proved problematic in a western role but I was pleasantly surprised. It was a pretty good movie.
I have heard of it.
@@ArizonaGhostriders I was pleasantly surprised, you might enjoy it.
I really enjoyed it. Interesting twists.
It was celebrated in arizona when it was pimería alta. I’ll be checking out those movies
Yep, with Father Kino.
Great video Santee. You don't think of upstate SC has having a strong Mexican presence, but I have many students who celebrate Dia De Los Muertos. It is very common and a status to claim Aztec ancestry.
Interesting!
Another good video, Santee! Hey, how about one on Cattle Annie and Littles Britches? That is if you haven't done their story yet!
Thank You! I have mentioned them in a couple videos.
Pretty cool
Thank You!
Butchers Crossing is harsh and brutal with a great Nick Cage detail to weaponry and hardly a trace of revisiinist crap. Dead For a Dollar brought Walter Hill back to the genre and the cast was superb especially Dafote. Liked double action pistols.
Thank you for the info.
Gotta love that sog at the end as my last name is Boatman.
Those two people in that photo sang it. orangetownrevival.com/
I just watched legend of five mile cave tonight. I thought it was a good movie. Enjoyed seeing everyone on the TV screen and recognized the set.
Awesome!
Great episode. I've seen the holiday portrayed in not only westerns, like Young Guns, but in other genres. One notable non-western was Bruce Willis' West Texas gangster movie, Last Man Standing. Christopher Walken was cast as a supporting actor who made it through the Day of ths Dead scenes and on to the end of the movie.
Oh yeah! forgot about that one.
That face paint is actually really pretty . It doesn’t look scary
They aren't meant to be scary, thankfully!
Looka youse...nice vid pard. I got to spend time with Bobby Least....not much there. Nice hat
Thank You!
💛...it'll be great to see your face on the big screen...ya might be the next clint eastwood (after marty mcfly, that is...)
LOL!
Thanks, Santee. And my thanks also to Mrs. Santee in her penguin costume, that got a real Laugh Out Loud from me. Just a quick question. Is Mrs. Santee auditioning for the stage version of Happy Feet. If so I think she would be great in it.
That is awesome! She said that is cute, but her tap dancing days are over.
@@ArizonaGhostriders Well she's one step ahead of me, pun intended, as mine never started. I have to admit watching tap dancers I am always amazed at their skill.
Thanks for the information except holloween. All the best for future episode, from your friend, ' Indian '.
Thanks for watching!
According to mi esposa de Honduras, Day of the Dead in other latin american or hispanic catholic countries is quite different from the Mexican way you describe. Face painting, skeletons, ghosts, etc. are unique to Mexico pretty much. The way other latin countries do it is a day of cleaning up your family graves in the cemetery and that’s about it. As she describes it, it reminds me (and her) of a scene in the Texas movie Home From The Hill with Robert Mitchum and George Peppard where people are seen cleaning up the cemetery as families. Robert Mitcham’s wife spots George Peppard tending his mother’s grave in the neglected and abandoned section of the cemetery of forgotten people (his mother was a prostitute). Good movie of you have not seen it.
I'll check it out!
👍👍👌👌

I have often wondered about this, as i have haven't been exposed to it in the American South
Glad to have helped ya
In the dusty, sun-scorched town of Santa Muerte, the Day of the Dead festival was in full swing. The streets were alive with vibrant colors, music, and the lively spirit of celebration. But beneath the festive façade, an undercurrent of tension coursed through the air. John Marston, the rugged and battle-hardened gunslinger, had found himself in Santa Muerte during the annual festival. He had been tracking a notorious gang of outlaws who were rumored to be hiding in the area. Tony Soprano, the sharp and street-savvy mob boss, had business interests in the region and had tagged along with Marston, hoping to expand his operations. As the sun began to set, the town's atmosphere shifted from celebration to uncertainty. The gang Marston had been chasing, led by the enigmatic outlaw, "El Diablo," made their presence known. They had been terrorizing the town and extorting the locals, taking advantage of the chaos of the festival. Marston and Soprano found themselves in a tense standoff with El Diablo and his gang in the midst of the festivities. Marston's hand never strayed far from the handle of his trusty revolver, while Soprano's eyes darted around, assessing potential allies and threats. The standoff erupted into a blazing gunfight. Bullets whizzed through the air as Marston and Soprano fought side by side, determined to bring an end to El Diablo's reign of terror. The cobblestone streets turned into a battleground, and the festival's colorful decorations fluttered in the wind like macabre confetti. The clash between the rugged West and the urban East unfolded in a dramatic showdown. Marston's sharpshooting skills and Soprano's tactical instincts proved to be a formidable combination. With each pull of the trigger and each calculated move, they inched closer to victory. As the last shot rang out, El Diablo and his gang lay defeated, and the town of Santa Muerte was free from their tyranny. The once-tense atmosphere gave way to relief and gratitude, as the townspeople cheered Marston and Soprano for their valor. With the threat eliminated, the festival resumed in earnest, with dancing, music, and laughter filling the streets. Marston and Soprano, unlikely partners brought together by the chaos of the Day of the Dead, had earned the town's respect and admiration. As the sun dipped below the horizon and the stars shone brightly overhead, Marston and Soprano shared a moment of camaraderie. In the heart of Santa Muerte, under the watchful eyes of the departed, they had forged an unlikely friendship, leaving behind a tale of courage and triumph that would be told for generations to come.
Weird but good story
Thanks for sharing.
Thanks again Santee& Co. Do you remember the 1980s song and music video Dead Man's Party by Oingo Boingo ? That is a great spooky tune .
I went to listen and think I do remember it!
@@ArizonaGhostriders Oingo Boingo were big in the 80s.
I’ve been to Day of the Dead celebrations at Old Town in San Diego, but it wasn’t a big event like the one you showed in the video.

Nice one, Santee. Looks like one heck of a celebration. Is Dirty Dan in any upcoming films? Would love to see one of those.
Thank You! We do the same movies, Dan and I.
Santee, here's a question- Can you do one on popular music of the day?"Oh Susanna" can't be the only song played in Western saloons but you get that impression if you watch enough movies.
