Don't paint brake Calipers until you watch this, How to Properly paint Brake Caliper ,This video is all about Rusty Brake Caliper Restoration
so before Painting Brake Caliper im gonna dremel the molding edges and smooth the surface and clean them for smooth finish paint job
How to TEST and FLUSH brake fluid : • How to TEST and FLUSH ...
Steps of How to Properly paint Brake Caliper:
1. Removing brake calipers
2. Taking them apart and clean them with wire brush and clean them with carb cleaner or brake cleaner
3. Using dremel tool to smooth down casting surface and edges
4. Decreasing with lacquer thinner or alcohol
5. Applying 2 coats of high temp. primer
6. Applying 2 coats of high temp. base color
applying sticker after second coat drys (optional)
7. Applying 2 coats of high temp. clear coat
8. Leave it for 24 hours to dry then put everything back together

  • the caliper will sure last a long time. nice job, but the bolts will probably be rusty again within months.... did u replace the sliding pins and gaskets?

  • Wow! Great Job! I am a bit concerned about smashing the hose tho, as most use steel inside that could be damaged. I simply separate at the top, and cap the steel line. Cheers!

  • Looks great. I had issues with high temp spray paints I bought. They didn't adhere well to the calipers. Ended up using ordinary acrylic paint I used for the wheel rims. It worked well. I should be buying Almica but don't want to go back retouching the calipers this year. Somehow I gave up making it look too perfect because these are behind the wheels.

  • Seriously, you din't take precaution on the brake caliper installation? Look at the caliper before you remove it ,the bleeding valve was at the top, after you painted it, you mixed it up, your Left caliper installed at right site and vice versa, the bleeding valve become at the bottom. Fixed it, otherwise no mater how u bleed the valve, air will trap inside on the top.

  • people keep using red, yellow, green to paint their caliper. but i use same color as u because it's more tidy and simple.

    • Better not to use any oil based , just wipe them and wash it with dish soap if you want

  • Brake hoses are wire braided with rubber around them, you just destroyed that brake hose
