What she's saying is true, fighting fans in general are fickle and turn on you the minute you lose. Ronda Rousey is the first fighter to elevate women's MMA to the mainstream, was a dominant champion and kind to the fans she interacted with. In the end people love to see someone like that fail.

She probably was never really deserving of our admiration, and we hyped her too much because the sport was young and we were eager to have a female champion we could admire. But God is she disappointing. This is what she should’ve said. “I had my time in the spotlight and I have no regrets. I’m grateful for everything that happened and what my life has become. I’m proud of what I did, and I think everybody that supported me along the way.”

He's trying to go pro. A more on-point name can help his growth, and portrays a more professional appearance to the suits. As a niche fan, I'm with you. I like the old name better. But objectively this was a wise change if he wants to transition from a hobby channel to a more professional one.
