  • Ronda's downfall was her coach and her ego. Her Judo was world class. But she got it fed in her head, and started believing she was a boxer. Could she have developed boxing skills over the years to sharpen and strengthen her game? Of course. But her aim should of always been to get the fight to the ground where she is at her best. The fact she tried to stand and trade with Holly and Amanda, shows she had yes men in her corner. No real coach who cared worth a damn would of told someone like Ronda "Yeah, go ahead and stand and trade with Holmes, you can out work her in the stand up." Then, after she got fucked up in the first round, she comes back to her stool and her coach says "You did great that round, keep it up" He's the one to blame really. She paved the way for women's MMA. But no, I do not believe she is even close to the greatest fighter that ever lived.

  • No Chael, alleging CTE does not excuse you from criticism for the rest of your life. Ronda Rousey has a major personality flaw. She'll do anything and blame anyone but herself for her losses. Years later and she still hasn't come to terms with reality. She fought because she had a giant ego and thought she could beat Floyd Mayweather in a boxing match and she lost because she had no skill at standup whatsoever. She was a one trick pony and the girls figured her out.

  • Ronda undoubtedly made a huge impact on the sport-absolutely. Personally, though, I wasn't a fan of her fighting style. It seemed like she excelled mainly against opponents who weren't as physically strong and relied heavily on her armbar technique. However, when facing more formidable opponents like Holmes and Nunez, she struggled and got destroyed. While winning is the ultimate goal, I appreciate seeing a broader range of skills in a fight. Nine of Rhonda’s twelve victories were by armbar. Nonetheless, Ronda's presence did contribute positively to the sport, leaving it in a better state than when she entered.

Ronda Rousey went radio silent for a year after the Holm loss and made all the excuses in the world, whereas Conor Mcgregor avenged his loss to Diaz, same weight, 5 rounds, 5 months after his loss. Conor took his loss on the chin and we all loved him for it, Ronda took her loss up the butt and we all hated her for it. I think it comes down to the humility, or lack thereof in ronda's case, that make or break a star in MMA
