  • Personally, I think the most disappointing part is how she treated herself after getting beaten by Holm and Nunes. There's absolutely nothing wrong with losing, no matter how many times, as long as you pick yourself up and learn from it. I really would've thought she'd just dust herself off and get better, maybe get a different trainer, or even just take a hiatus to humble herself. But then she quit, and turned WWE no less which I feel speaks leagues for her character: a "competition" in which winners are pre-selected and no real stakes are up. It just doesn't feel right at all for her to suddenly give up, for seemingly no reason. Maybe she does have reasons outside of a wounded ego, but from what I've seen it doesn't seem likely.

  • If nothing else, the Rousey era is a perfect example of human hype and hysteria. The worse you think Rousey is as a fighter now, the more the point applies. She literally went from being called the best ever, to someone who looked like she had never fought before. You could write a book dissecting everything going on around her for that 3 or 4 year period, from the media perspective, to actual talent, to the super fast evolution of the sport. It would be a fascinating example of human fan based hysteria. Comparable to a stock market bubble

  • Ronda was a hype job she had 12 or 13 wins. When she finally fought a fighter who knew how to move and box someone who wouldn't run straight at her to be thrown with a judo throw Rousey had no answer. Holm kept her on the end of the punches and continued to move and box going backwards this was the answer to Rhonda's Judo Style. It also doesn't help if you pay your sparring partners not to hit you in the face. That's what was going on with Ronda Rousey's fight camps. Not to mention the giant hype job that did not help Ronda Rousey either. Joe was a part of that hype job.

    @docholidayproductions@docholidayproductions5 жыл бұрын
    • Hype job? Of course she was. She was the reigning and undefeated Champion. She has to be hyped. As for the fight itself you're forgetting one thing. Rousey was also convinced she could box with Holm. So she wasn't even considering Judo until it was too late and her bell was rung. Rousey wasn't focused (no excuse) but it's the truth, and Holm had nothing to lose. But then Holm loses her next fight to Miesha Tate, who Rousey beat twice. And that's the circle of combat sports. Some people just have your number.

    • @Stephanie S because most cocky people are dicks in day to day life. So when they see cocky people on TV the relate them to the assholes they run into on the street, work or share a house with. I think people want to see humble with greatness not a bragger essentially.

    • +Stephanie S They don't, people love Conor (don't get me wrong I do too) and he's cocky as fuck. I think a lot of men hate strong women who have confidence in themselves. Because it makes them feel insecure and they see it as a threat to their manhood. But they love cocky men because they like to live vicariously through them and deep down I think they want to be them. Or at least that's my perspective based on my impression of a lot of straight men, speaking as a gay man.

I thought that Holly KO would've given her a new perspective on her I get what I want attitude, but nope! and even in the WWE people are starting to get irritated by her. And definitely Trayberdian is responsible for SOME part of Ronda's losses. But at the end of the day she's still responsible for picking her team.
