    • No that's not true at all. Stylistic advantages, game plans, and corners all come into play when 2 fighters meet. Most think Ali lost 2 out of three to Norton but does that mean Norton was the better fighter? Hell no. Ronda had 6 title defenses. Holm didn't even have one. More importantly, Ronda ragdolled Tate in two fights and dominated her, while Holm was manhandled, wrestlefucked, and choked half to death. Ronda knocked out Bethe Correia in about 34 seconds, while Holm needed three rounds, was down on the cards of all three judges, and was so timid, she was warned by the ref for stinking up the joint. Again Holm may have won but Ronda was undoubtedly the better fighter, and their's absolutely no room for debate.

    @BlondeMcGuinn@BlondeMcGuinn Жыл бұрын
    • I'd put Jedrzejczyk up there for cardio and conditioning too. Because she's only 115lbs she doesn't have knockout power, she won most of her championship fights by tiring out her opponents and then landing hundreds of strikes while they were too tired to respond

There are plenty of other fighters her weight that do a better job of knocking people out, so it's got nothing to do with her weighing 115.

      @JustSomeGuy69420@JustSomeGuy694205 күн бұрын
    • @@JustSomeGuy69420 This comment thread is a year old, but sure. There's no one single factor for Joanna not being a knockout artist. She's 115/125lbs, there's just not a lot of weight behind her strikes. A big part of her gameplan is footwork, she can't be too grounded when she throws or she's going to get hit. She's a former IFMA champion so she learnt striking with much heavier gloves than are standard in MMA. Her technique is volume striking rather than bigger, more powerful shots (which has changed since her transition to MMA. If you look at her old Muay Thai fights she's a much more powerful striker, it just doesn't transition too well when your opponents are all black belts in BJJ).

You could see in the fight against Nunes that she no longer had any genuine belief in herself. She went to professional wrestling, but couldn't cut it there because she's a terrible actor. • So I caught UFC for the first time by accident, it was Bonnar v Griffin. I was a fan for few years, stepped away and got invited out for this fight. NO IDEA who Rousey was, and I was saying to my friends, "White trunks is boxin' her up!" They doubted Holm would win after that 1st round, then that head kick sent the place crazy. Been a dedicated fan since.

    • Same here man I was a hardcore fan in the early 2000s to the early 2010's fell off for a bit and came back during the McGregor Era. Crazy to see how much the sport has evolved since than man. These fighters are so much more talented now

    • @@drunkenmmamaster419 It was insane, I wasn't feeling great and was just flipping thru the channels. It was the first round, it was live, everything was perfect timing. Of course I became a Khabib fan, now he's gone. But there are so many great fighters now, it's insane.

    • @@oldschooltakingyaback I blame the UFC for John McCain calling it that because that's pretty much how they marketed it back then

  • I always thought 19:11 was the punch that broke Ronda's jaw. It turns her head at an awkward angle and there's no follow-through or recoil, all the force goes straight into her chin. After that Ronda starts flopping around and acting messed up. The kick just helped her find the canvas.

  • I never realized Holly Holm was only ranked #7 heading into this fight

    • Which is odd because she was 10-0 going into this fight. Funny how nobody was touting her perfect record, the obviously biased media was all, "Here's another one for Ronda's meat-grinder."
