    • @@MrLockwise Holly has 16 title defenses as UFC champ? don't think so. Is that really the best you suckers can do? Brining up her irrelevant boxing career (which has nothing to do with MMA) to try to prop her up cause she has nothing to talk about for MMA? Proves that she's a footnote in MMA. You know if I had a nickel for every time one of you says something like this, I would give it all to holly so she could maybe afford some choke defense lessons. She was nothing but another buster douglas never was and it's been proved a lot. Holm has gotten destroyed multiple times since her fluke moment. Miesha didn't get lucky. She took advantage of holly's nonexistent grappling abilities which is what Ronda should've done instead of fighting stupid and beat her at her own game. holm can only win if who she fights fights stupid. when that doesn't happen she's completely hopeless.

      @yodawg45@yodawg454 ай бұрын
    • @@yodawg45 I think what she was trying to say with "nobody has the right to beat you" was the mental aspect of it all however, rather than having external respect for her opponents; which ultimately probably solidified her arrogance and diminished her respect for any of her opponents. I'm not aiming to bash on her here though, this is just my opinion. I see many fighters get hot-headed when they get to the top and start believing they're truly something special compared to the rest, but it never lasts forever. Even if the "no respect" aspect of her statement aligns with an opponent having "no right to beat you", that's no excuse for not acknowledging another fighter and not touching gloves in the ring. She demonstrated that she didn't respect anyone outside of the cage on many occasions in my view, so I'm not sure where her definition of "respect" truly lies other than potentially *respecting* the fact that they might beat her; which she never handled really well anyways by leaving the ring with her head down and never being the first one to pay her respects to the fighter that beat her... I think that was the arrogance that she had before she was humbled, and maybe in some part for the marketing. I'm just confused on what she really means by "respect" as there's a stark difference between her and truly respectful fighters like GSP or Volkanovski who've both demonstrated respect regardless of the circumstance for all of his opponents. To me this sounds like something she's regurgitating based on the acceptable views of what fighting is about even though she never lived by it. I suspect if she ever started fighting again, that she would be more prone to pay respect to her opponents after her past experiences now though. From everything the world has seen though, her definition of "respect" doesn't align with "sportsmanship" that's for sure. She cared a lot about what her fans thought of her though which is why she got depressed after the last couple of losses, so it's even harder to discern how much of that was virtue signaling as well. One can only speculate. Typically if someone has a "but" in their sentences it means they have a reason to dispute what they've just said which only makes it disingenuous. (i.e. "You're great, but...")

  • Ronda was a good fighter. She got hyped up by people like Joe Rogan and had a horrible trainer. She would have likely been much better if just those 2 things didn't happen. Even though she became a champion, she really wasn't the best and her MMA career ended showcasing her weaknesses that most of her competition was either not good enough to see, or simply ignored it. But Holley and Amanda knew and they took her apart! Amanda called it after she beat her up in record time: "she's gonna quit" and that fight was Rhonda's last in the UFC. Give her a great trainer with no Joe Rogan hype and I think Rhonda beats up everyone including Amanda and retires undefeated! Hype never really works for the person being hyped up and a bad trainer is certainly any fighters demise!
