    • Hi Alex, They are expensive, but tend to hold a good value to collectors even years after the build. Room is also very important...I have heard of builders who buy these kits and start building in their spare bedroom, soon realising that this is not a small model and the weight is troublesome to deal with without the correct equipment. I have also heard that someone built one in their basement and had no way of getting it out...You have to drive these when complete as you can not lift them. Hope you continue to follow my channel.

    • Morning Gary...thanks mate...this is what I call the 'scary' stage...getting the electronics to sing and dance is key to how the tank operates. I have now received the remaining option packs and in the process of installation. Adrian from the Forum is coming over next week to help me with the whole calibration side. This amazing kit will be up and running very soon. Defo use something to lock the batteries in...I use an aluminium angle with metal weld glue to stop them from sliding. I will have to lay them down as they simply do not fit when standing upright...don't like doing this, but it is the only way. I will be back in a couple of weeks showing the final stages of this build. It will be brilliant to get mine and yours driving over on the tank range as soon as they are both ready.

  • Wires, batteries and R.C units... not my favourite cup of tea! I bought a Tamiya radio control car in the early 90's and thoroughly enjoyed building it, hated the battery, electronics etc... you make it look so easy!

    @MartinFutter70@MartinFutter706 ай бұрын
    • Thanks Martin, that is very kind of you. In fairness Armortek do much of the work by making it fairly 'plug & play' It is the calibration that can take the time, but I am slowly learning my way through this process.

    • You should sell them (seriously). I was in the same spot about a year ago. Looking at Tonys amazing build and dreaming "what if". Then I realized I had a stock of unbuilt model kits, collectors items and other stuff I wasn't using and decided to sell it off and stop buying more useless stuff. I started doing a plan and started to project how much I can save each month. And now I have my first on preorder (Leopard 2). And I mean sure it sucked at the beginning selling stuff I liked but at the same time I can get it again if they were so important. Also it was pretty fun when I had a clear goal and seeing me coming closer and closer to achieving it. Anyway I think building one of these will give me more joy than a 100 of the 1/35 kits I had.

  • Oh my god! I was finally able to watch the wiring test video! I felt hopeful because the red control box was moving easily. My Tiger 1 is a combination of a silver control box and a Futaba transmitter, and for some reason it won't work, so I'm frustrated. I'm about to start building FAMO, and since it's a red control box, I'm really hopeful that it will work just like Tony's M26. Thank you Tony for watching the video, which I was really looking forward to.

  • More amazing progress Tony, and Thank You for sharing your fun with us. 👍I'd love to see the detail (warts 'n' all) of setting up your transmitter when all your options have arrived. I've been playing with transmitter and receiver with some spare servos trying to work out what control I'll be using for what function. So many options... The good news from Armortek is that my motors and missing parts are due to be shipped out on Monday, and shipping usually takes a week or so, so at this rate you'll be finished by the time I make a proper start on my build! I've just rewatched your painting videos and would love to see the detail of your weathering process - paint choice, thinners, mix ratios etc. Will you use an air brush? I've just sorted out a new air supply for mine and am trying to resurrect skills I never had in the first place! Looking forward to next week's episode.

    @keith-morgan@keith-morgan8 ай бұрын
    • Hi Keith and thank you for your positive comments. I am pleased to hear that your parts will be arriving soon. I will be back soon...My son who edits these videos is on holiday, so I will probably not upload another video until the week after next. I will definitely be using an air brush for the markings, but will weather the tank using a mixture of brushes and colours...still working all this out i my head, but will film this when the time comes. I hope you enjoy the build when you get going, but take your time as the build process is the most enjoyable part and throughout you will constantly change your mind about the finishing details.

  • Hi Tony ,one of your tracks is the wrong way round, if you look at the tread pattern..apart from that great insight into the electrics on the tank

    @stephenparkes626@stephenparkes6268 ай бұрын
    • Hi Steve, well spotted...I have done this as i did on the Tiger. A lot of the research I did before the Tiger build showed the tracks reversed from one side to the other and I understand that some German tank crews elected to do this as they thought it increased turning capabilities. I elected to do the same, but at this scale I don't think it really impacts the performance...It certainly did not affect the Tiger...Hoping the same with this....If it does, it will be a quick fix. Thanks for your continued support.

  • Hi Tony. Love to watch your assembly films. I see the Pershing's two tracks are installed in opposite directions , like Tiger 1. Is this normal and instructed by Armortek manual? Thanks.

    @LerhChang@LerhChang8 ай бұрын
    • Hi and thank you for watching and commenting. I have looked at many pictures of these vehicles, and found some with "reversed" tracks and even cases where one set is running one way, and the other side reversed! Quite common on the Pz 1 and II, so I opted to do the same. Armortek do not show this in the instructions and leave it up to the builder to decide. Pretty sure that on this scale it has little impact on the operation. The Tiger drives perfectly. Hope this answers your question.

      @tonys_workshop@tonys_workshop8 ай бұрын
    • Yes, Tiger 1's two tracks were run in opposite directions, because of the sprocket's design. So were the Kingtiger's. The Panther & Pershing hadn't got this issue.

      @Cormano980@Cormano9808 ай бұрын
    • Hi and thank you for watching and commenting. The RC kit is not included. You purchase the option packs separately from Armortek, such as, Motion pack, sound pack, recoil pack, smoke pack, lighting and MG pack. Then you purchase the batteries, radio set and receiver from any RC supplier.

  • Just out of curiosity, does anyone know someone who makes stainless steel tracks for 1/6 tanks, it's the only thing that worries me abou this scale that the sheer weight will quickly wear the alloy ones

    @Cormano980@Cormano9808 ай бұрын
    • I have heard that someone in Germany has developed this concept. From my experience the Aluminium links work perfectly and are weighted correctly so the drive motors do not strain. The sprocket is also Aluminium so this would also have to be upgraded should steel links be used. I have driven my Tiger for many hours and hard driving with no real issues. If you break a link, it is easy to replace as they provide sufficient spares. These are heavy enough without the introduction of steel links...not sure how the additional weight would impact on the drive performance.
