Hardware Canucks: _The Rival 3 Wireless is technically the superiour mouse_ The entire comment section: *_I bought a G305 and I do not regret it_*
True
I literally just went and bought a white G305 based on the comments here to replace my Deathadder Chroma.
@@OviWanKeno9i You got to remember that comments from people who bought a thing are usually going to skew toward that thing.
2 factors here... Noone who is just into gaming will pay for bluetooth and also the g305 is out to buy longer and that way has already dropped significantly in price. At the same price i would take a rival3 wireless although i have a g305 just because bluetooth would be a use case for me
I got a rival on accident and I got it for $43 and I will say the rival is the best mouse EVER and it’s so good it’s price is now $70 in the internet and I recommend getting this from best but and btw when I got it I saw it was the only one left so I took the offer and I will never regret it
Bought myself a g305 last year, which was my first wireless mouse. And I'm NEVER going back to wired.
Wizardi1111 haha me too ( *doesnt even have a wireless mouse* ) (btw i have a wirless SteelSeries Rival 3 now (: )

Same. Spectacular cheap mouse.
@METhOdhowtoKilLnoObS Well besides the obvious feeling of freedom, my cat likes to sleep on my mousepad, so I can just pickup the mouse and move it wherever instead of bothering the cat and trying to fish out the wire from underneath him.
Sammeeeee I just got mine like a month ago. It really is a great mouse.
Wow, I'm surprised I found this! I was looking for this and was expecting having to do more research but this is really helpful!
As a fellow mouse addict, I love these steady streams of mouse reviews. Please keep them coming! :)
Just as I start noticing my Rival 100 playing up, great timing!
I've been using a G305 wireless (with a AAA adapter and lithium battery to reduce the weight) for almost a year now. I absolutely love it.
Gotta say I like the option of Bluetooth or the dongle, especially since so many tablets / laptops are short on USB ports now
6:26 Thanks for including this. Could not find any other review that mentioned it.
But is that true? Impossible that Rival 3 has such a disastrous drawback...
Wow I'm so lucky you made this video cause I was literally looking for a wireless mouse under $50!
options are this or the fuckboi logitechs that are $20 at walmart LOL
Really great timing; I was planning to pick up the G305 or something similar during Black Friday.
It's a really good starter mouse for sure. I recently switched over to the GPW after using the g305 for about a year. Obviously the GPW is far superior but you won't be disappointed. Really solid mouse, especially if you use a triple a battery to cut down on weight.
Good thing there is competition in this segment now so we can start getting some amazing mice for these prices
I agree!

Thank you sir. You just helped me make my decision before buying G305 soon before Diwali.
Thanks for the mice reviews, I’ve appreciated hearing your opinion! Do you plan to do any high end mouse reviews? If money were no object, which high end mouse would you recommend for gaming? Thanks!
This came at the perfect time I was just looking at upgrading my 4 year old rival 110 and I am definitely getting this as I was looking at a 703 lightspeed
i got the g703 for my birthday in march. Nice rgb but short battery life, so I got the powerplay
Can we all appreciate the planning involved in this video to preview the wireless deathadder on announcement day while showing the steel series rival 3 wireless.
already bought a G305 about a year ago after LTT's video, fantastic purchase
Thanks men for this beautiful vid!
I have been using a modded g305 for a while now and I haven't found a single mouse I like better. I actually prefer the removable battery of the g305 over the rechargeable G Pro Wireless or I would've went that direction. The g305 is my favorite mouse regardless of price.
Thanks Dimitri, I just bought the rival 3 because the double connectivity is appealing to me. I won't use it for gaming so to me battery life, ease of use and connectivity were the deciding factor
It's also nice to see a different company finally putting out a decent competitor to the G304. I feel like it's been uncontested until now.
g304 best of the world
Agreed, love steelseries mouse wheel too, theyre so quiet and smooth
What's great is that me and dimitri have the same hand size even though we have different grips and experiences. This why I like his reviews
I went from G502 to G305 and mannnn i LOVE IT. Did the energizer lithium battery too...
I've had a rival 100 for quite a while now and I love it, but I was considering buying a wireless mouse. and now Tseelseries releases this, it's perfect.

Hi Demitri! Can you review the new Corsair Katar pro wireless, it seems to be a competitor for the G305
Hey Dimitri I have a bit of a conundrum with finding a cheaper mouse. My hand is pretty much made for the shape of the G502 and my issue is that most of the cheap mice in that shape have a "please ban me button" if you accidentally press it. I recently got a Gainer by Redragon and I think I had an issue with left mouse button sticking before clicking unfortunately. Like it would stick as I clicked and then after some force fell into the click. I'm going to send it back for a replacement to see if it was just a build tolerance mistake. The mouse otherwise is perfect and what I was looking for. Though if ends up not working what mice would you recommend? I have this Centrophorus and the shape of the left and right mouse buttons literally cause me pain. I do have large hands, but they are also more narrow hands. I can't really spread my index and middle fingers that far apart. Basically the purpose of the mouse is to have something I can use when my G502 goes out and I need to replace it so I can keep gaming. So can you recommend a cheaper mouse with narrow buttons? I was also wanting to try a wireless one. Maybe with AA if possible. Not sure if you will see this though thank you in advance anyway!
Great video dude - I’ve used the Rival 3 wireless for about 2 months now and I can ASSURE you, the 400 hour battery life is rubbish. I turn it off after every use, use it and it might get me to 100 hours at a push (8 hours a day average over 2 weeks).
its 400h when battery saving is on, its useful when youre not gaming but working and dont need that accuracy and everything
just ordered mine today so excited!
How's ur experience with the rival 3 so far? Is it true that the battery lasts for 400 hours?
Where did you get all these beautiful mousepads from this video and the previous mouse video? :0
@Hardwre Canucks Can you do one on the Aerox 3 , I think you'll like that one
Would be cool if you could make a video comparing the rival 3 wireless with the viper ultimate 👍
My wired g403 did well through 4 years but today the mouse wheel broke - since i use it for jumping in all FPS games i instantly ordered the g305 after watching a couple of reviews. Excited to try a smaller wireless mouse after many years of palm gripping annoying cable dragging mice. I'm concerned about the side buttons not being up to par, but other than that it looks like a great upgrade!
Does your G305 still work? I had it 2 times, and, the mouse clicks messed up after a very short time (several months to 1 year), because of the super cheap switches they built in. I have the G403 now, which already works for almost 3 years now. Much better switches in that one, in my opinion.
@@chakko007 yes Funny, I switched to it because my g403 mousewheel broke and I wanted a smaller mouse
Just bought the G304 (G305) a month ago for $39, great wireless mouse for the price. Swapped out the AA battery with a AAA lithium battery and an adapter makes it pretty light also

Got myself the G203 (same shape as the G305) after my G500 crapped out and the most noticeable difference is the size. Also had the G400 and prefer the ergonomic shape more so it kinda made me wish that I went for the MX518 Legendary or G502 instead.

no wonder this video only came out today.. the Deathadder V2 Pro is in the lineup.. sneaky!
I weight modded my G Pro Wireless and now it’s only 63grams! It’s really good and I would recommend it if you know what your doing and I got the idea from SilencedTech which I basically did what he did except not add on grips or new feet but I think I’m gonna go get some and I didn’t glue the puck back in and I also took out the other side buttons but not cut off the mounting points because I don’t use side buttons.
I got a g305, used a AAA lithium and never looked back. I considered a 3D Print mod, but haven't felt the need, but maybe in the future?
its not really only for gaming since it had bluetooth that thing is heavier bcos the bluetooth and longer battery life 305 is good, but the switch kinda easily double click after 6 month
ive got the g305 + lithium battery recently and i'm happy with it, or maybe lighter but wired is better ?
I love my G305 however they eventually develop the double click problem that occurs on most Logitech mice. I am currently on my second G305.
Why not just change the switch? It barely costs anythin and it's not hard to do, I had to do it for my g300s for the same reason. Also how is the scroll wheel click? Because mine is quite fiddly.
Same here. Starting to happen to me too. Not just that, but the scroll wheel stopped scrolling just 4-5 mts of me using it.
THANK YOU!
I have 2 G305's and I love them, especially as I got both for ~35€ from discounts.
Nice, was gonna change to a g304 but I think Im gonna buy this one replacing my rival 110
I got the steelseries rival 3 wireless for 35 dollars after a discount on Best Buy, and I'm loving it so far.
3:06 damn he showed us the v2 pro before it came out
My g304 lasted me 8-9months before the rmb started having issues where it would register holding it down as multiple clicks which is annoying in fps games
Warranty is two years, ask for replacement/return?
I have both a G305 and a SteelSeries mouse, and I have to say the SteelSeries software is so, so much better than Logitech's new software. I find Logitech's so hard to use and confusing. SteelSeries Engine is completely intuitive and straightforward. This alone makes me never want to configure the G305 and play games with it. So I use it as a portable mouse for my laptop, since it's so small anyways. I wish reviewers would comment more on software because it's a major aspect of the device ownership experience. And I wish Logitech would change the terrible usability of their software.
Logitech: *available in my country* Steelseries: *not available in my country* Mexico has done it again.
Talk about India. We have neither
@@SaadGolandaz what? U can buy logitech mice in India ( not right now due to the pandemic situation)

@Dmitri you play games why not stream it? Or you already have a channel which i dont know of?
I wonder how light the rival 3 wireless would be with two lithium ion aaa batteries with the tin foil mod or a aa battery adapter
One of the biggest electronics shops in our country has their own mice. One of them is a CZC Shapeshifter GM1000, if you're able to find it. Costs $65 normally, I got it for $52 (for some perspective, the G305 costs $69 normally, currently for $47, the SS Rival 3 Wireless costs $73). Ergo shape, pretty much an EC-2A, top sensor, 20m Omrons, good scroll wheel, perfect side buttons, RGB ofc, 72g, good enough glide, modular design (black&white options for the buttons/back cover and honey comb/full back cover), has it's own software and most importantly - it's wireless. With an integrated battery. For the price? It's the best mouse on our market, period. Anything bad I have to say about it is just nitpicking. The buttons are slightly wobbly (WAY less than I expected for a modular mouse), the battery really doesn't last long at all, but I can just plug it into the braided, light and flexible USB-C cable every night, so it's not an issue. You can't adjust the LOD, but it's under 1 DVD, which is amazing. You can't buy the battery separately, but there's a possibility it'll become available in the future. No bluetooth connectivity, but I couldn't care less. I've been searching for the perfect mouse for quite a while now, I hate the shape of the G203 and the buttons are just too light (doubleclicking is also present in-game). I tried an SPC Gear Lix and while that one is much better, it feels too light for me, the shape and overall design isn't ideal for regular use and the cable was still a nuisance. Great for arena shooters though. It seems I've finally found my perfect mouse, for regular use and gaming as well. I use it with the full back cover, it only weighs 2 grams more, saves on maintenance and I find the slightly heavier weight better for CSGO. There's probably a mouse in the US that has all this for $30, but for me, it's a life saver. 9.7/10. What was supposed to be a small, informative comment turned into a seemingly paid review, but hey, it happens. It's just THAT good.
just got the new lavender g305 and im not sure if the original g305's before the new colors came with ptfe feet, but mine did and im loving it
That would be the mouse that would live in my bag and take with me since it has both Bluetooth and 2.4 receiver. The G305 is my main mouse since I got it down to 80g. The size and weight feels great to me.
on rival 3 u can put a lithium AAAA and this battery makes the mouse lighter than the 305

I bought Rival 3 if I compare to my 8 years old SteelSeries Kinzu v2, Rival 3 is pretty loud, 5mm higher which been 6months for me uncomfortable, and Rival 3 is heavier, but now after One year I have adapted, but the protrusion in middle sometimes bothers me. And the wheel is also louder against Kinzu V2. I thinking to fix cable on old mouse or find out some smaller than Rival 3.

Huge showstopper is the battery compartment transition that you don't get on a regular wireless without the onboard batteries on top. That transitional gap in the mouse is annoying to feel in your hand. Much better with a smooth surface.
Heyo! I’ve used both and recommend either. If you have smaller hands go for the g305, if not, either are an amazing band for your buck.

For people with bigger hands and that use claw grip, dont get the g403, very uncomfortable, no place for your ring finger to rest on the other side so it gives me cramps sometimes. I now personally use the g603 for the great grip and size
Does it still have the high lod from the previous mice
The question is how good the Bluetooth mode is regarding polling rate. Some mice are really laggy in BT mode.
I had G304 but i lost its dongle, now its so useless. Having a BT feature really makes up for it. But do you really have to use/choose BT mode ?
Just bought this mouse, the bluetooth is very laggy. I guess the polling rate is quite low (>=60Hz)
If Logitech used reliable switches, I'd be using the G Pro Wireless instead of the Viper Ultimate. I prefer Logitech's designs but going through four mice and having all of them start to fail within 6 months is rediculous. Had the Razer Viper Ultimate since last year, still runs like new.
Love when I can reduce the weight of a 2-battery mouse by pulling out one of the batteries. Have a Logitech M510 but considering moving to a Logitech Pro Wireless.
The affiliate link for the Steelseries Rival 3 (wireless) takes me to the Rival 3 wired version just fyi

Finally, have been looking for 310 replacement that is wireless for quite a while! A shame it is so heavy though, using only one battery will probably feel weird.
Yeah, I absolutely love my 310, and I love this wireless version of the rival, the chunkier form factor makes me aim better at higher DPI levels since I play at 4000-6000. Looking forward to buying this one
You can also use a AAA in the G305 and remove the cover so it will be really light, I use it like this
and AAAA for rival 3 ;)
Had no issues with the G305 until the 2 year mark, past warranty. My favorite mouse to date, but the sensor started to skip and jitter intermittently. I put in my older Logitech M510 wireless mouse, and had no problems. So, decided to buy the Steelseries Rival 3 and see how long that lasts.
how is the rival 3 going after 6 months?
@@faceless_3918 no issues so far. might be nitpicky, but in order to wake up the mouse after it has been dormant, you do need to click a button. merely moving the mouse won't wake it up.
My G305 had a bunch of issues since I bought it a year and a half ago. First, the light sensor for the DPI died within a year of using it. Following that, the usb dongle literally broke and the logic board was exposed. Tried fixing it back by putting some tape on it. Then the mouse literally got disconnected from the dongle itself and refused to connect with the mouse. I even replaced the batteries thinking that it ran out. But nope nothing worked. I contacted logitech as my mouse is still in warranty and they said that I might be eligible for replacement. However I haven't heard anything back from them after sending an email. Don't know if I should still try or switch to the rival 3 instead. What's ur take on the rival 3? I heard that it's battery life is worse than the 305.
@@nikhilkoganti yes, in my experience the g305 has better battery life. But I just use rechargeable batteries for the rival 3 so I'm not having to buy batteries all the time. I have also turned off the RGB so it improves battery life a little.
