Handheld PCs. So hot right now. But also far too small, am I right? What if I want to game on an airplane without holding my tiny screen so close to my face, straining my arms and eyes? Luckily, OneXPlayer is here with a 10.95" screen that really pushes the term "handheld." With an Arc GPU, a big bright screen, and Joycon-style controllers, is this worth the wrist pain?

like once in a mars sighting
would 100% watch Yvonne review handheld consoles, the opinion of someone who's less into tech is super valuable imo because how good something is for your average Joe is what actually matters when looking at this kind of thing
What matters is each individual understanding what they want from a handheld device and making up their own mind. I don't how a review on a piece of tech would be helpful from a person who doesn't know anything about it.

You didn't mention it, but the specs say it supports 2280 sized NVMe drives. That is a massive advantage for a "handheld". 4TB or 8TB capacity without a microSD card? yes please.
At this size, there'd be no excuse if it didn't support 2280 drives. The Legion Go, which is like 75% the size of this, can support 2280 drives if you get a custom backplate.
You can fit a 2280 in a Rog Ally pretty easily too, you just need a $15 right angle m.2 adapter and some kapton tape
Uses intel though, a massive disadvantage. The drivers for arc are simply not ready for prime time.
ROG Ally supports a 2280. With a very inexpensive adapter.

I JUST LOVE THE WAY THIS BRICK LOOKS, amazing!
I have it and its beautifully, just sad that in MY CASE ( not everyone) i want to use it like my daily personal laptop and handheld at the same time but then the “onexconsole” where you can adjust the pdt, fans etc Windows mark it like a virus trojan lol, then you Can’t use an AV and it has disable the core isolation settings/ memory integrity in Windows, and all that its a HUGE risk hole for virus/trojans malware in general that can break my system and stole my information… and thats a huge no for me… You can enable all this but you will lost the onexconsole panel functions to change pdt and that sucks… so i don’t knows right now what to think about it, But at side for this its the most beauty mini laptop/handheld Windows ipad i had and always wanted, just perfect. And also got the onexgpu and paired with the x1. Ufff literally its a desktop replacement, i can play -almost- all games at ultra in nativa resolution whit out a problem. 8/10 for me, ONLY for the security risk that represent this system
The audio is weird with this video.

Hi Patty! Great content per usual, thanks for sharing your experience!!!!
The keyboard seems like the real better use case for this thing. We now have both Minisforum and OneXPlayer entering the 2-in-1 tablet/laptop space, one with Ryzen and one with Intel. I'd be very interested if this came with a stylus similar to the V3 as I do a good bit of drawing on the road and wouldn't mind if my tablet could also play some lighter PC games.
I personally dislike the Surface type stylus (it's all same tech that has been stagnant for years and never fixed it's old issues). I'd much rather use portable Huion or Wacom monitors that connect with single USB-C cable and in general pen works much better.
I'm so disappointed in both. They're insanely overpriced, and though I could think about swallowing the price for the OneX, that Intel chip is a deal breaker.
@@CordaroBlu For gaming maybe, but as a general laptop chip they aren't that bad. That's mostly how these interest me, as little 11" laptops I can use like a tablet. The price of both is a definite turn-off though. If either could get down to the $800 range I'd be much more interested.
@@DigitalJedi with Microsoft office on Android, I lost my need for a Windows tablet. I have an Ally Z1X and with my Tab S7 (both coming out to cheaper) this doesn't speak to me.

I know almost no devices have it, but I would really love to see an HDMI IN port or more tablets/laptop devices. Love the idea of just having one screen for everything.
Most mobile displays are eDP so HDMI isn't going to happen without a bunch of other components.
On my laptop, I use a USB- C to HDMI convertor for my second monitor. And I see no discernible difference if I use the HDMI port from my desktop unit.
Minisforum V3 AMD tablet has a "V-Link" USB-C port where with an active HDMI adapter you could plug just about anything in and have it display on the screen, still a first gen product with possible deal breakers for many

I have small hands but i love my 23 ultra lol moar screen! @xjmg007
As somebody who's short and has small hands, I _wish_ products paid more attention to people who are short/have small hands. So hard to find a desk chair where I don't need to use a footstool, and I'm fairly average height for a woman! Plus phones which keep getting bigger and bigger and harder to hold. Why is there no performance comparison to what I'd consider the most polished handheld, the OLED SteamDeck?
Bc just about every handheld demolishes the steamdeck in performance apart from playing at like 8 watts and battery life my z1 extreme rog ally demolishes my oled steamdeck
@@mapleleafs4lyfe in average/max, but usually not in lower resolutions, and steam deck at lower wattage usually does a lot better. Most of us who use handhelds play games that require way less power (e.g. PC I play stuff like Hell Let Loose, Six days, Baldurs, etc., while steam deck my last 3 games were across the obelisk, terraria, and inscryption). If you look on Steam's great on deck, it's Fallout 4 (old title), stardew, baldurs, Balatro, then 3 games that are higher wattage, and then abck to hades, slay the spire, vampire survivors, all stuff that's lower power draw.

I'm glad I went with the Minisforum V3 instead, though that's far from perfect too.
Intially had lots of Intel drivers issues which means 8840U way beyond it, the received Bios update and it made battery life + gaming experience miles better.... For the Indigogo price it's amazing value, if I had 3 things I want to change: 1. Native landscape display 2. AyaNeo level of software 3. 8840U over 155H for me, Intel is getting there but not yet
I would've held off and gotten a Minisforum V3 if I had waited to see the review of the latter, but considering I am interested in emulation on the go more than demanding PC games, the Intel CPU is still decent. Although, I'm sure the 8840u would be better for PS3 emulation since it supports AVX512 instructions... Anyway, I also have an eGPU, so either device can be capable for my gaming needs. Not using the X1 for anything else.
@@Magnosummit What I like about X1 is superior battery size + charging speed + Oculink + controller attchement included.... The 3 things I spoke about are the only downsides, otherwise its magneficent, even keyboard pretty good for gaming

Kinda surprised to see the Magic Spoon sponsorship after Linus had harsh critisms of Rhett & Link’s cereal in the trying youtuber foods video. Specifically because he complained about the small portions and how they tasted bad for the money, which happen to be the main critiques of Magic Spoon. I know that the filming schedules etc. might not have had this video filmed after that one, and I doubt Linus tried Magic Spoon himself, otherwise I bet he wouldn’t like it.
They have a solid refund policy (at least from the sponsor read, idk) and it’s a wacky nutritional profile for a cereal - I would kind of expect any with 3x the protein vs carbs to kind of taste like cardboard tbh and be weirdly expensive

I just a had weird Eureka moment, what if we take the recent display ltt reviewed with no back light and slap it on a handheld super low power consumption tune it to meet gaming response times and next thing you know we have decent away from wall time
So from what I gather with handheld gaming PCs, most are on Gen 3 or 4 with the Ryzen Z1 Extreme chips (albeit, some are gen 1 with their own version, but the idea has evolved since the earlier implementations enough to run fairly decent). The Intel ones on the other hand, feel as if they're more like Gen 1 and have to play catch-up, because the Arc GPUs are still better than the older Intel video chipsets, but still need a few updates to iron out the bugs and fps inconsistencies.
@0:26 Glad to see yall are paying attention and censored it for the deaf community too... 😅😂
I just purchased an asus Z flow 13 for the price of this. Its and i9 with a rtx 4050. Runs pretty much any game high settings 60fps. I use my Legion go for on the go. And the Zflow as my work laptop/tablet for gaming
I got the Legion Go. I just wanted a low powered game streaming device with a really big screen like this, but not something as high powered or expensive as a laptop. For $600 the Legion Go was perfect. I'd like to see the cheap price with 2-4k res (again streaming), with enough decoding power for at least 4k@60 streams, oled, and a native horizontal display between 8 and 10 inches. The native vertical display is a weird choice and can cause random quirks. Love the legion go controller and everything else. USBa is cool to see, but then again so is fully functional usbc on both top and bottom. Oh! And single one of these devices is missing 1 key function... A switch to turn off the touch screen. Stray touches during a game aren't that difficult to avoid, but I have to actively think to avoid it.. Especially when I have the urge to clean the screen during a game lol
The volume buttons are in the same arrangement on Surface Tablets.
So this is just a clone of the old Razer Edge tablet from like 2013 right. Size, format, detachable controllers (even though the edge was more like a controller... frame?)
Wanted to ask something I've noticed, could the stutter in games be explained by Windows being in power saving mode? I noticed this during the gameplay in the video at 7:27 (taskbar icon) and 10:10 (very obviously enabled), and then in the explanation for the software in 10:51 (taskbar again) This could also affect the max brightness but I'm not sure if that's default behavior of power saving.

Is the split controller "combinable" and works detached? I mean this thing has a kickstand and I guess it would work better as a "portable" rather than a handheld
It's a nice idea in theory and I still love mine. However there are many units with charging issues, eGPU not working, difficult bios update and many other problems and their support is almost non-existent.
