LYRICS
We come for you,
No chances.
In my house shoes in a foot race,
In this house we got feng shui,
Get the door to blow you away,
Flamethrower, you a switchblade,
Feet planted on grip tape,
With my shoulders squared,
And my back straight,
Got a good base and a loose tongue,
Notorious in the octagon.
We got people on the way,
We want you home in one piece now,
(Run away, run away)
We get bodies every day,
We want you home in one piece now.
We come for you,
No chances.
How’d you get the location?
Put together pieces?
The say they sell the information,
In those terms of agreement,
We spent some weekends on the grind,
Surveillances outside, we see when you arrive,
Ride or die my son.

I'm so hyped for this song to be played live. Imagine a whole stadium of fans singing out "WE COME FOR YOU" I'm also hyped because in the lore, we the fans are Banditos. So if we start singing "WE COME FOR YOU", it's like the Banditos are coming to take Clancy or Tyler out of Dema. Which completely switches up the meaning of the song, something I think Tyler did on purpose. What a GENIUS!!

THIS SONG IS THE MOST EPIC BATTLE SONG EVER
foot.
exactly😎🔥
fancy seeing you here wilbur foot
Did you listen to the song at all?
Absolutely
I think there are four voices in this song: two of them are the bishops, one is the banditos, and the main voice is whoever was running away in "Bounce Man" (either Tyler or Clancy, I'm not sure which). "Bounce Man" is the last happy-sounding song on the SAI album, and it's about someone on the run from the authorities. Immediately after that, you get No Chances. This song puts us right back into the sound of Trench. It's like the bishops were trying to put forth the happy propaganda of "everything is fine here" for most of SAI, but then once you try to leave anyway, the happy facade drops and they're not playing nice anymore. "We come for you" is clearly the bishops coming after the person who's trying to escape Dema. But I think the chorus "we've got people on the way/we want you home in one piece now/we get bodies every day"is also the bishops. It's like good cop, bad cop. The "We come for you" is the scary threat, while "We've got people on the way to get you and bring you back home in one piece" is the good cop trying to be soothing. It super reminds me of what my mom used to say to me when I was young. "The world is dangerous and scary; you need to do what I tell you because I'm trying to keep you safe." Meanwhile, the banditos are trying to tell the protagonist to not listen, to not fall for the trap, telling him to "Run away". The protagonist is unfortunately caught; he says "How did you find me?" And then what is the next/last song on the album? A song very directly about mental health issues, the only one on this whole album, compared to the previous three albums which were full of songs explicitly about mental health. It's because we're back in Dema.
👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
y could be but i think bounceman is more "runing away from your problems instead fix them is a great idea let us help u :3" then yes this song is them just not using masks and maybe here is when they take clancy, and in redecorate the last part is him but he ddnt die as the song say, he just low af then in next album he will scape and will give the banditos hope as he was so low but make it out alive and they will "win" dema. even it will always exsist. i think all first songs are just liek that good day "you are in the shit but dont think about it, yeah dance u idiot :P" choker "i know its over none is coming for me..." shy away "dont be scared of us do what we say :D take what you have (your life) and leave your skin (body) on the floor¡ the outside " enter dema¡ we so cool join your friends here and have fun like them noding up and down to our beat uwu" saturday "damn here in the ocean floor i dont care anymore sinking so low is nice¡ lets dance¡ take it "those banditos aint cool... want us to be mad at each other dont lsiten to them¡ we friens

Another reason to cry about this song, thanks
this is the song in scaled and icy that has trench vibes
That’s what I was thinking, it sounds just like a Neon Gravestones or a Leave the City.
Really reminds me of that one part that’s like “no I move slow I wanna stop time I’ll sit here til I find the problem”
Simón
Agreed
A ton of blurryface as well
The more I listen to this album, the more I realize how many cool sonic details it has hidden in it. At 3:33, you can hear a pitched up, processed version of the vocal at 1:43. On a related note I think Tyler often makes all his melodies from different sections of a song work together if played at the same time, which allows him to hide a future melody behind the current melody. That way the next melody is already in your head before you're even aware of it. A great example is the chorus at the beginning of Fairly Local, where you can hear a synth in the background doing the melody of the first verse
Bro, I'm tired of people that are saying that they've left the fandom because they became happy because you're supposed to be a TØp for life
“Top become too happy” then why No Chances and Redecoate so angsty?? They great
Preach! If you're truly a fan, you want the boys to be happy. It makes me so angry to hear people wishing Ty would be depressed again because 'it's when he makes his best music'.

Yes ikr!!!
Yesss. It's light and popish at first to compare dema to propaganda and radio but this shows full on dema. Though I'm wondering if this is bandito perspective because in choker he believes nobody's coming for him. Now I think Banditos are sending people wanting him in one peace
I agree 😂😂😂 i got so frightened when the bishops' chorus started

God, TOP is literally one of if not the most creative band out there! Musically and lyrically this feels so fresh and so fkn unique!
The "we come for you " then after "we want you in one piece now " changes the mood so quickly.
This song feels like Tyler is finally confronting the bishops, but this time he is ready, and prepared. It feels like the climax to the story. I wish we got more of this
The other, more positive songs are made by Dema and The Bishops. It’s propaganda meant to distract us and lure us in. At least that’s the common theory thus far. Scaled And Icy is an anagram. Rearrange the letters and it says “Clancy is dead.”
@@jxynothere i know this. The theme of the album is most likely about hiding your emotions, while being happy on the outside. I was really hoping they would not use the "Dema propaganda" story as an excuse to put out more songs like Saturday. It's not bad, but it feels like a generic pop song. In the end I was proven wrong, of course, and we got this masterpiece
"Now is the climax to the story that gives our demons and angles purpose, we fly around as we are molding our emotions, just to please them"
the next album is going to complete the dema narrative, so maybe we will get more of this
@@darko8658 omg, so clever and acurate comment
that “we want you home in one piece now” is so comforting
I always heard it as a threat lmao
It's a message from the bishops.
@@lucamiller6480 I see it was a new form of stay alive but that’s just my interpretation idk if it’s right or not
@@lucamiller6480 because I see home as the concerts. Tyler always calls the concerts as home
@@alexis2012fulvlogs "home" refers to dema. This is the bishops using tyler as a messenger. The run away is the banditos telling you to keep running and ignore the message. Its a propaganda song. " we get bodies every day," is a fear tactic. Telling people that they get get bodies all the time of people who have tried to escape. This is my interpretation and its the interpretation that makes the most sense imo because it's not really a comforting song. There's something uneasy and sad about it.
Tyler said “I” in every song for 11 years but this broke the streak!! )_: 😢
wowah
There isn’t a Josh Dun lyric in this album either is there... 😢 maybe since all the other albums were from the Banditio’s pov and now we’ve entered Dema propaganda he did it on purpose

Also feeling a b-side with the black and pink dragon Trash as the cover of the cd representing Tyler and Josh's escape from Dema's control
Notice the piano in this song? This is definitely a TOP song, not a song by bishops
Can u explain me this song????
@@AMiT-zn6iu do you know the DEMA lore? :) basically the people with the choir voices are bad. They’re called bishops and they’re in nine towers in a city called DEMA. DEMA stands for depression/anxiety and bad things. So the people stuck there are unhappy. There’s a boy who escaped, named clancy. Tyler also “escaped” but he was probably taken back to the bad city in this album. Clancy is supposedly dead (scaled and icy spells clancy is dead) so this song might be talking about how they want clancy to not die, because clancy is good and he gives us information about inside DEMA and what happens. Without him, we’re clueless. The bishops killed clancy supposedly because he stood up against their ideology. Called violism. Which is basically “you believe this or you die” so hes.. most likely dead. The bishops are saying “we come for you, no chances” as if they’re hunting him down to kill clancy. This song is going to have a very big part in the story I feel like.
@Aarin Manik i feel like its the bishops saying “we are coming to capture you, no more chances to escape now”
Man the song is written so incredibly well. It seems like the entire song has a double meaning. On one hand, it’s DEMA propaganda. It’s like a threat, telling the listener: We will find you. You have no chance of escaping. We are everywhere. Come home to DEMA. But between the lines, Tyler tries to tell us to run, hidden in the background vocals. “We got people on the way” implies that you are not alone and that the Banditos are waiting for you. From this perspective, “home” is Trench and they want to pick you up. It’s like Tyler has to write around censorship by the Bishops. That’s why the song sounds so menacing and has a feature by the Bishops themselves. So well thought out. Also, issa BANGER!
Nice! I like that!
BEAUTIFULLY WORDED
Also Tyler's telling you to run away run away

I love the " spent some weekends on the grind surveillance is outside we see when you arrive ride or die my son (x2)" before the end of the song. it's hard to hear but once heard you can't ever unhear it.
DID THEY REALLY JUST DROP THE WHOLE ALBUM DAMN WAIT
I KNOW
LMAO RIGHT
I KNOW! I panicking trying to choose what to listen to next
Did u not know
@@leebird7278 can relate 😭
This one really feels like Twenty One Pilots. I’m literally in tears.
irk i was listening to the rest of the album like "oh no is this how they sound now" and then this song comes and restores my faith
@@cdairline7905 literally exactly what I was thinking, just love them rapping and this is really nice because it's what they are known for and different to the rest of the album.
@@cdairline7905 i thought I was the only one who thought this but fr
@@cdairline7905 I read somewhere that this album is supposed to be DEMA propaganda. Maybe this is the guys fighting back.
@@cdairline7905 Same and then Redecorate came and blew me away and I was like holy shit this is a mastapeece
There's definitely a video coming from this song, like the Outside, can't wait!
i thought that initially but im beginning to doubt it, dont get your hopes up
no chances
it’s been a year but this whole album is a masterpiece, i recently got to go to bottlerock and i am going to the icy tour. let me tell you the songs i hears live are IMMACULATE, cannot wait to hear this album live again
I feel like this song is what would happen if the chorus of Pet Cheetah and the verses of Doubt had a baby
I THOUGHT THAT TOOOOO!! Like I’ve started singing/rapping Doubt to this and it fits really well.
@@bridgettebrown9031 I am so glad that somebody agrees with me! I just tried rapping Doubt with this and I totally agree. It works SO well!
Nice pfp. I agree with this
You’re so right
OMG YES
If this song doesn’t get an MV, I’m going to be a little bit sad because this song is such a hype song, just like Pet Cheetah, and it seems like it’s also part of the lore, so that’s another reason why I really want this song to have an MV.
An MV would be SOOO cool!!!!!!!!!
Pet Cheetah was such an underrated song on Trench and I have a sad feeling that this song is going to be the underrated song on this album :(
@@ashtonlonce5327 Actually I don't think it will be underrated, it has the most views so far from all the deep cuts!
@@ashtonlonce5327 I remember wanting Pet Cheetah to have an MV where Tyler and Josh are performing the song, then out of nowhere, Jason Statham pops up riding a cheetah with a collar saying Jason Statham.
I feel like this song will be the last video delayed a bit as a transition to ANOTHER album that continues from Trench
This song live will be absolutely amazing.
This and shy away are my favourite songs on this album
Y E S
If this song is a part of the DEMA propaganda, then the No Chances chorus is probably a representation of the Banditos to make them sound antagonistic, and the we just want you home in one piece bit would be the bishops, addressing attempted escapees. And I suspect the line where it addresses them as "Son" is Keons addressing Clancy specifically. And they do want them back in one piece, so they can fully commit to vialism
ive seen several people mention this, who/what is dema? and keon and clancy?
@@emmaa8615 look up the Trench mega thread on Reddit! It will explain everything you need to know :) it’s the storyline Tyler and Josh made for their last album but it might still be relevant for this one.
i named myself keons after the bishop& have been going by it for over a year so reading this comment threw me for a fucking loop lmao
@@keons2969 lmaoooo you're welcome. And nice name 😌
I love it when the fans go in too deep in the rabbit hole! Keep those theories coming, guys 🥰
Whoever is responsible for these lyric videos, you are masterful.
this lyric video did it exceptionally well, out all the tracks in the album. all the stripes, the thick and bold font, also stretched, the enclosed boxes and circles... makes you feel like you're genuinely about to be caught and be confined in a prison. this album is so good, josh and tyler did it once again :)
i was actually searching for the amazing editor who made this, does anyone know?
@@theeditaesthetic I wouldn't be surprised if Tyler and or Josh themselves did it, given that they are phenomenal, legendary artists. 💘
21 pilots we are falling for your music 😍😍and your tunes are making us take our time in this ride
Remember this, no matter how bad things get, tomorrow is another day, you'll be okay, keep believing in you. Stay strong, stay kindhearted, show love. ❤
Dude I hope they use more of this choir in the future, it fucking slaps
the whole song slaps honestly
@@ayanaa.8305 idk it's just perfect
The choir is basically just Josh and Tyler’s dad lol
IKRRRR
@@garliccc3695 wait fr?😭😭😭
The “We want you home in one piece now.” Followed by the “Run away.” Is so chilling. It’s like the banditos are warning us quietly in the background
" we are banditos " - Nico and the niners (josh)
Fans who are saying ‘they’re back’ after this album I think they don’t deserve it be back in this fandom after shitting so hard on this album , what they failed to understand this ‘happy’ album was all part of the story Tyler got captured , then he got out , with this album he got captured again and now with the new music coming he’s being back blurryface and something huge is happening
Amazing ! This song is moving ! I like the way how the chorus expresses a high threat balancing with the sweetness of the following verses
Me: is happy that we are getting new music CliqueTheorists: WE COME FOR YOUUUU
Hahaha... btw i see u everywhere. Wanna be frens?
@@robertwoodcock-valentine9215 yaaaay another online fren
@@robertwoodcock-valentine9215 samee I wanna be frens 👀🥺
I wanna be you all fren too
Bruh, thanks for calling me out while I'm literally in the middle of writing a theory on tumblr!
The calm urgency is chilling. The duality to the lyrics is poetry.
This one somehow reminds me of that book... 1984 Same vibes I'd say
something i noticed about this album, is that so far the songs have an upbeat aesthetic , but a more serious undertone.
man i wish there was a whole song that was just the vibe of the 'we want you home in one piece now' parts, theres something just so extremely comforting about those parts
I immediately thought of Pet cheetah when the chorus hits and i think its fcking beautiful
Yeah
Yes me too. I don’t know what it is between exactly those two Choruses but they are probably my favourite parts of all tøp Songs and get me closest to crying
Same!
yes, definitely the pet cheetah sounding song of the album
Same it’s the sudden transition from heavy darker music to more melodic singy music
"We come for you, no chances" Obviously the bishops telling us we have no chances to escape Dema and even if we did they're coming to get us back. This is scarry considering that after all these happy songs we believed Tyler had finally made it out.
A part of their work is about how DEMA has inspired their creativity, so there's a constant, internal struggle between liberation from the pain/appreciation for what the pain provided.
especially the fact that this was the second to last song on the album
Not to mention the fact that this whole album is a dema propaganda, it’s monitored by dema and released by dema. So this sugar coating in the bigger first half of the album is there for a reason, the end is leaving us with more of raw reality.
North korea: you son of a gun, I'm in
Gives me the chills
If you listen o the beginnig and the calm parts seperatly, you wouldn't guess that they were the same song, but when you listen to the whole song, it just works. Tyler, what a magician you are.
The way that piano lick hits the bass in the chorus is perfect.
