I, at one time, used to put in time on a large engine lathe, machining steel rolls for paper making machines, inside in a machine shop, these guys, are working under tough conditions, with it looks like worn out machines, tough way to make a buck, or rupee, or what ever.

They nEVER clean up (Grind) the area they are welding. Drives me nuts.
probably using 6011 to get that real fine bead.
Dude... they're doing stick welding inside a steel tube with bare hands and lots of exposed skin. Holy hell. UV burns and flying metal slag. A little surface contamination isn't even an issue on the radar screen with this job.
