  • As of now, after 6 games, Canucks are 2nd in Pacific and 6th in League Standings. That's a way better than expected start to the season. Not to mention each game, there's multiple players getting important goals as well. And they've been conceding much less than last season. The Tocchet effect is really taking shape with this team, and I'm liking it a lot. :) And to really hit that point home, they're currently Canada's best team this season, while the Oilers are the complete opposite. Who'dve thunk it? XD GO CANUCKS GO!!

    • Woah, hold your horses. I love the Canucks, and I love their record. But it flatters them. They have only played 2 +500 teams, and got beat pretty handily by both. They have been playing fairly well, but will definitely have to improve to maintain a record like this.

    • I don’t feel it’s a solid standing. I’m happy they’re second, but the e been getting lucky, like a lot! There are still parts of their old habits, especially from Myers but that’s expected coz he just suck on defence. But Pettey shouldn’t have problems with empty nets. I’m still waiting for Kuzmenko to explode like he did last year. Mikyeve did well tonight tho, I think it’s good to have him on the same line with Kuzy, things will happen with both theses guys. I’ll be more confident of their playing system after New Years. It’s usually around this time that we see their true colours.

    • I'm enjoying the collective manic psychology of it all. They start off 2 and 0 beating the Oilers twice and the GVRD is buzzing with positivity. Then they lose two and the crowd is "OK, here we go again!" Then they win 2 in a row and we're back to being believers again. I love it!! They dominated the first two periods in the game tonight. If it wasn't for Saros, it could have been over after 40 minutes. And as for the Zebras : I'm ok with our penalties but do you notice how few PPs the Canucks get with missed calls? Once a team gets a reputation for having a lethal PP, refs are more reluctant to blow the whistle. But that just makes for bad optics for the league. Not that little Gary and brass give two fu$$s though so....

    • @@erikjohnpotvin It's called the salary cap. Garland does have a lot of potential but is a $5 million cap hit and only produces as well as the other $2 to $3 million dollar forwards. Canucks are maxed out, but still need to add better defensemen and guys like Garland are usually the first to go to free up the salary space to allow that. It's the nature of the business.

    • Quinn's easily our best defenseman, and maybe even a Norris candidate if he keeps this up all year! On the other side of the coin, Tyler Myres managed to cost the team 2 goals again, so that's a 3 game costing us 2 goals streak for him now. I'm starting to call spotting the other team 2 goals and the remaining 19 Canucks have to overcome the 2 goal deficit alternately The Tyler Myres Effect and The Myres Handicap. Impressive that the Canucks are still in 2nd place in spite of The Handicap.

  • Big 3 - 2 win for the Canucks over the Preds tonight as Vancouver back checked very well and was solid defensively holding Nashville to just 17 shots on goal...The turning point in the game tonight was when the Canucks ambushed & stunned the Preds with 2 quick goals in the opening 3 minutes of the 2nd period... A respectable road trip for the Canucks as they head back to Vancouver with some momentum.....

  • Huge win for the team. Demko was good when he had to be, and the Canucks did a great job of capitalizing on their opportunities when they had to. Also, Tyler Myres brought is streak of costing the team 2 goals up to 3 games in a row now. I'm calling that The Tyler Myres Effect from now on. He just spots the other team 2 goals and the other 19 guys have to compensate for the Myres Handicap. Take away the Myres Effect and maybe the Canucks win this one 3-0?

That and Alvain removing most of the dead weight that were holding the good players like JT and Pettey down, other then Myres, who's the only anchor slowing the team down.
