  • Edward really does come across as a genuinely nice person. The way he handled that question was perfect. No mudslinging, no angry undertones, just respectful. Families are complex, he gets it.

    • Sophie was one of the most well regarded PR specialists in the UK. I suspect she has helped him with how to handle the media. He did get bitten in the 80s/90s when his sexuality was constantly questioned. So he did not do interviews for a long time. Plus it's easy to look good in contrast to others (his brother for example). Not knocking him, its just a fact.

Prince Philip did the same with Princess Anne, he would purposely make staged events to make her daughter look like a failure so she would know it feels like to lose ,not be handed everything to plate on you, then he put her in the military where she began her career as a part of women's navy. Charles did the same with William where he will create staged events to make William lose and Harry or his friends win, it toughened William up. • @@christinaw2518 a bit late, but he did have a bit of a scandal after he left the navy and set up his own filming business. The younger kids of a ruling monarch cannot win really. They can't work 'normal' jobs, yet there's nothing much they can do hanging around the Palace either, so they're left in limbo. Princess Anne always had her horses of course, and did loads of behind the scenes charity work, which she still does. She racked up more charity engagements over the years than Charles. Andrew couldn't seem to find his place after leaving the navy. He was a 'foreign diplomat' for a while but wasn't terribly good, so that didn't last. Fergie of course, was rather disastrous. I'm not sure what Edward has done over the years. I know Sophie, his wife, was very close to the Queen, and also did quite a but of charity work. Edward does appear very grounded though - no airs or graces.

Why does CNN allow this kind of blindside? But as you said, Edward didn't buy into it and wished Harry and Meghan well. CNN can do so much better than this "royal correspondent" who definitely uses American TV news outlets to continue the UK's smear campaign. What has happened to CNN which was formerly known as "the most trusted name in news?" It is now "Facts First," l agree. • I've always been fond of Prince Edward, who was born on the same day as my brother....I think he favours his grandfather George VI more than any of his siblings but also, I've always thought he looks a lot like Art Garfunkle without the curly hair......At any rate, I think he's delightful, very honest and classy in his answers to the questions. A real sweetheart.
