  • I have a member of family who did a military course with Prince Andrew when he was in the military. When he arrived for the course, he approached the commanding officer and said 'hello, you can refer to me as Prince Andrew'. To which the commanding officer replied 'Good morning, Prince Andrew. You can refer to me as "Sir" '

  • A neighbour served in the Met for 30yrs, his last posting was as motorbike outrider to the Royals. He said the only Royal who ever spoke with the cops (and thanked them every time they arrived) was Diana as "she wasn't one of them" and often made comments about that. He said there was a lot of dislike with the Palace for Andrew but also Anne: apparently the IRA planned a sniper attack on her (not the 1974 event and this was not well publicised), and when she told of it she was pissed off about the inconvenience of the delay rather than being thankful they diverted her route and avoided the shooting.

  • A relative of my wife had the unenviable task of guiding Prince Andrew a few years back around some official event in a foreign country. They went up in a lift which briefly broke down between floors so they couldn't get out. It was fixed after only a few minutes. He was absolutely furious with rage. When they emerged from the lift and approached the first door he kicked it open with all his force. A total arse.

  • I had the immense displeasure of meeting Prince Andrew in 2006, when he came to my workplace to open our new offices. I was part of the welcome party. We were told if anyone took pictures on their camera phones (which were still quite new then - this was the year before iPhones) his security team would seize and confiscate the phones. When he arrived he was brusque, rude and dismissive. He seemed annoyed to be there and couldn’t get away fast enough. He was so bad that the MD of the company had to send out an email afterwards practically apologising on his behalf. Dreadful person.

    • @@coffeejack7458 As an American, I actually think of the British Monarchy/ British Royal Family as a distinctive, permanent " First Family " of Great Britain, Northern Ireland, and the Commonwealth, whose specific family members sponsor charities, causes, visit hospitals, nursing homes, places of great disasters, domestic and foreign terrorism, as well as hardships of any kind. Some of the family members have created scholarships and special programs for children and young people in the U.K. and countries in the Commonwealth. Some other family members are very involved in different branches of the military or act to sponsor innovative changes to British technology and business. They are expected to represent British culture, business, and commerce. Believe it or not, this is also what The First Family of the United States does. The First Family of the United States, consists of the President of the United States, the wife of the President, and his children (and grandchildren in some instances..) The Second Family of the United States, consists of the Vice President of the United States, ( until recently) his wife, and his children( and grandchildren in some instances.) They all share in this role . They all have their own secretive service protection officers. Specially trained secret service officers and their trained K9 dogs are spread around the perimeter of the White House ( comparable to the British Buckingham Palace ) The Vice President is also the President of the binaural Congress ( the Senate and the House of Representatives) and has the ability to break ties in voting and other roles. The Vice President, his or her spouse, and his children, also have their own secret service protection officers, and they also live in a federal mansion in Washington, D.C., with its own Secret Service patrol with K9 dogs, around its perimeter. The American Presidency ( and Vice Presidency) does the role of both the British Monarch, his or her spouse, and (until recently) all of the Royal Family members, and the British Prime Minister and British Deputy Prime Minister. Our separation of Church and State prevents the President from being over any religion, but the President is the Commander in Chief of the American Military, as the British Monarch is of the British Military. Unlike The Monarch and The Royal Family, the U.S. President and First Family and the U.S. Vice President and the Second Family changes every four years or every eight years, with the U.S. election held every four years. The secretive service protection officers are assigned to every former President and spouse, as long as they both live. Children of former Presidents are only covered until they reach 18.) All of this costs a whole lot more than the British tax payer pays for the Working Royal Family, the Prime Minister and the Deputy Prime Minister all put together. The President or Vice President can't just resign after one month or one year into office. The Royal Family now pays tax on everything since 1992, and they have significantly cut down the number of working royal family members who receive any salary or clothes allowance from the British taxpayer, as it should be. Prince Andrew should have been exposed for his unacceptable actions, his criminal actions, and his rude behavior, decades ago, and cut out as member of the Working Royal Family.. I don't think that anyone even wants to see him publicly anymore, either. .

  • I worked with an Officer who provided Close Protection to Andrew when he was away from home. He was hated by all the staff. He would constantly try and outwit staff at night time sneaking around the grounds until he was challenged at gunpoint trying to access the external gate. After his immediate trouser-fill he berated the staff to the stage that one Protection officer was literally going to rip his head off. That staff member was transferred the next day, unbeknown of who ordered it. An odious and self important individual who really should have every title and funding stripped from him with immediate effect. I hope he gets his just reward in Court but I really can't see this happening. Cluster b personality disordered sick creatures can be born into these positions. Just take a look at the past. One of huge number of worldwide examples is the Tudor era in England. Two examples there are King Henry the 8th and his daughter Queen Mary the 1st (bloody Mary). Brutal psychopaths.

If that happened to Andrew also, it may explain why he turned into such a monster. I'm not talking about his pedophilia, just the horrible personality and rage. But it is strange that he would be so different from the rest of the family. ALL of them are rich and privileged - why would they be nice and he be so monstrous.

  • I was part of the Royal Guard at Balmoral in the late 90s for 3 months. My job at the time was to assist with the Ghillies when they would take guests out to stalk and shoot Stags during the hunting season. We would meet them after they completed the hunt with large working horses & the dead Stag would be strapped onto the back on the horses saddle and then driven back to the castle at the end of each day. The Royals would invite guests to take part in the hunts and it was usually someone of some kind of importance or from a wealthy family. One day Prince Andrew turned up with a tall blonde haired female, apparently a low grade actor that was married to some Sheikh. He was acting like a complete idiot trying to be flirtatious, but sounding like a 13 year old schoolboy who fancied Madonna in the 90s. It was embarrassing to watch. Me & my work buddy at the time were walking behind them leading the horses & Prince Andrew seen a frog on the ground & turned round to the female guest and said "Oh don't go kissing that frog dear, we dont want anymore Prince's running around here" and started manically laughing at his own crude joke. Me and my buddy looked at each other and both wanted to burst out laughing, but had to contain ourselves because we would have probably been punished for taking the piss. In hindsight I wish I took the extra guard duty and laughed in his face. Shortly after that Prince Andrew missed his shot and decided to cancel the hunt only like 2 hours in (its normally like an all day thing). He then said they (him and the blonde) were going to walk back via a lodge that sat on a loch. I basically just think he had no intention of taking that guest out shooting and was trying to get into her knickers. Guy is a total sex pest. I'm sure there's hundreds of stories out there about his deviant behaviour. I seen him multiple times throughout that 3 months and he was just an obnoxious wanker. Most of the other royals were respectful of other people. Philip was a bit bizarre and would often hit his dog with his walking stick, which pissed me off. Charles was probably the nicest out of all of them. He would actually take over on our area as the Lead Ghillie (leading the hunt) & take his own guests out for the last 2 weeks of the season. At the end of each day he would bring a bottle of Whisky and the whole team of like 6 of us would sit and drink a dram of whisky in the middle of the mountains. He would sit and chat and ask us about our lives and stuff. At the end of the two weeks he gave each team member a blue leather wallet with his crest on it with 9 carot gold plated trimmings & some cash inside. Being a squadie at the time I obviously spent the cash going out on the piss that night, but I still have the wallet in its box.

A Primary elite infantry fighting force who's secondary role was to protect the queen and her family. You can probably reverse those prioroties but thats how i saw it ;) . Throughout my many hundreds of stags on duty i always was wary of who was in at every palace or royal residence i was guarding. Windsor was the worse one, Andrew used to speed from the royal mews through the arch under the quadrangle. If you did not present arms to a royal you would get reported to the guard room rightly so. Andrew used to speed past at such a pace you was scared to not present to anyone coming from the mews. I'm sure he saw this as a game, hence i saluted the post man, the milk man and anyone else coming from down that lane. I'm sure they loved it, and duly returned the salute, bless them. Better salute the postman than risk a weekend in jail for not saluting the nonce.

I heard this lunatic screaming at one of the lad so I approached and said, evening sir, ID card please, again he screamed at me to let him in, I did not let him in, he then showed me his ID, once in he put his face in mine and said, and I quote, “that was a bad bad career move” and the next day I was in the XOs office being bollocked. I was asked to wait outside and whilst waiting I suddenly smiled as I heard the Captain cut Prince Andrew a new butt hole. • Sadly I totally get why Prince Andrew ended up the way he did. If you have the combination of not being very smart, being bought up in the most entitled environment in the world, very low levels of self awareness or emotional intelligence. These combined with the fact he was in a universe where everything revolves around him and his wish, it’s not surprising he’s ended up as he has. The biggest tragedy I cannot get my head around is how the Queen could not see through the sickness brewing within her child.

  • An impressive interviewer but really her subject was/is an outstanding police officer and former Royal Protection Officer. Every word he uttered was solid gold, by an intelligent, proud professional concerned with what is right, fair and decent! The man is a freaking hero and should be proud of his service. He is the type of man you want. Personally, I don't give a shit who you are, how much money or power you have, you still need to treat everyone else with respect, especially if they are providing you with a service. I once challenged a Prime Minister on an outdoor publicity organised trek to open a new hiking trail, I stopped her with my clipboard at the end to tick off the people entered asked her to state her name even though I knew who she was. Her name wasn't on the list and neither were those of her 4 protection squad guys dressed in similar tracksuits. 3 of the young DPS looked totally confused, nonplussed but the 4th older one reached behind his back and gave me an evil fixed stare which concerned me. I expected to see a drawn pointed Glock but the PM recognised me from some minor prior encounter and laughed, moved on. Later she posed for a photo with me, no DPS seemingly around. She was just on a fun day, doing what she personally liked and promoted. Kudos! To me. it is just sad that leaders need DPS, have to worry about their safety. And for the people who guard them, an impossible stressful job. Mucho respect!

He informed me he had little contact with the queen or D of E but being based at Windsor and I believe on occasions Sandringham he regularly had contact with others. He told me being around Diana was fantastic, she used to sneak down to talk to them and have a cup of tea with them and she was always up to pranks/practical jokes, she was his second favourite. His favourite was Princess Margaret as she really did not give a damn for protocol and any form of stuffiness whatsoever. They often had to go out into the park because she was out there with a group of friends drinking and she smoked and swore a lot no matter who was present. He said whenever she was there it was just fun and laughter. He found Charles to be aloof and cold. He despised Andrew but would never say why. He didn't really need to explain.

    • That would be correct. Margaret had no relationship with the Lord, and without pointing the finger, they (pretend) to show deference to silly, stuffy traditions and protocol---which are simply man's vain tradition, and avail nothing at the end of their time here on earth. John chapter3 needs to be reflected upon. Religion, e.g. the "church" of England, and all the mainstream denominations, or labels, are deceitful and a hindrance. Repentance and turning to a saving faith in the Saviour is the only way......people including privileged royalty are leaving the best decision of a lifetime TOO LATE! Tomorrow is NOT promised. • Meanwhile Philip and Charles also served in the Navy and their former comrades had barely a bad word to say about either of them. Philip in particular was brilliant, highly distinguished, saw active combat under fire and was mentioned in dispatches, and people loved him. He could very well have risen to have been First Sea Lord one day. Sadly his career was prematurely snuffed out due to his royal duties and I think he had FOMO and "what if" for the rest of his days.
