      @drewbedford2646@drewbedford26464 жыл бұрын
    • @@drewbedford2646 there are many other countries and cultures that start learning to *read and write* English when they are young and entering school. Pronunciation of and understanding the language being spoken is much more difficult when your own language is completely different. Imagine learning to write Korean (or whatever) as a child but never speaking it until 20 years later you happen to meet some from Korea? And trying to hold a conversation. Haven't you ever taken a second language in school? Many times writing that language is much easier than listening to yourself and others butcher tf out of it. Especially when you consider all the different accents of people who speak English. That's not even to mention slang terms... Ex. I have an online friend from Japan who reads and writes perfect English as she's been taught to from childhood. But having facetime or discord calls is much more difficult for either of us to understand without real concentration. (Although she says facetime is very helpful as she can see my face as I pronounce words and it helps her to figure out how to properly say each word)
