@@TsarOfRuss i think red might have been killed, it was honestly inevitable, he didn't stand a chance against 20+ hyenas, and hyenas have group hunting coordination on par with chimpanzees, so no way a young male lion would have survived, and he would've died of injuries if he survived the initial attack.
Can we take a minute to appreciate David Attenborough, his voice, and his contribution to wildlife. We won't have him forever. ❤

Loved how that mama buffalo fought off a pack of wolves, saved her child, and even picked up someone else's kid before breaking out. That's some superhero level battle moves.
I love the one with Lizard and the snakes. the determination of that Lizard to survive is amazing
That "buffalo" was a BISON! I get tired of narrators who STILL don't know a BISON from a BUFFALO! There are NO native "buffalo" in North America & never has been. We only have BISON!
Most of these are edited. A) They got the calve. It was another bison with calves. B) The lion likely fell or broke out or they saved it with few shots. They never filmed the new one together with the hyenas. They make spectacular films, but they need a bit boost.

That iguana vs snakes thing is -- if no CGI or otherwise doctored images involved -- one of the most dramatic survival scene ever recorded. Kudos to BBC❗
fascinating how animals are born and instantly through instinct, know exactly what to do to survive. If only schools taught the same.

I don't believe that story at all. Where is the footage where the brothers fight off Hyena together? There people used to make up stories by editing together random videos they took. They need to make some interesting video to sell their products.

Think they use cameras
Don't know which series it is, but on one of BBC's series, with Attenborough (may be the Earth series), thry show how they did things. Almost as interesting as the actual programmes themselves. Think omit was the polar bear one, where they were watching it hunt somthing, tracking it's preys scent, then they realised it was hunting them, but swinging around wide, so to stop it's scent from being picked up😅
mad props to the team that filmed and produced these fantastic documentaries what a spectacular capture of wildlife. this production team needs an award.

Like a great man once said, it's the little things. The tigress is clever, found a small niche and put her babies in, even covered it with big rocks. The cubs don't know better they just want mommy so they yelp. Sloth bear knew they were there with his super smelling and hearing. The jackal not too far. Mama sees,hears and knows. All it took was a little growl the jackal effed off and the sloth bear said "oops,too late".😂 What a mom!

That is awesome how Tati saved Red from an almost certain mauling by the pesky hyenas. The bonds formed by packs of lions ( as well as other pack animals, is one of a kind ).

@@abdinasirnathirmohamed6469Right. I don’t know what I was thinking…I love animals, and have watched probably over one thousand hours of shows / documentaries about all different types of animals. And for me to refer a pride of lions, as a pack, is quite dumb. It will not happen again, I promise. Lol
Unfortunately that was just nifty editing. Red most likely died in that hyena attack. They used other clips of a lion running off an entirely different pack of hyenas. If you look closely when both lions start interacting, that red looks nothing like what he did during that first hyena encounter.

AGREE 💯It was SUCH a POWER FILLED MOMENT OF EMOTION for them AND for Us watching the Lions🦁 allegiance/brotherhood 🦁! Such a STRONG/BONDING moment with their silently quiet enjoyment of having, together, OVERCOME! I could just FEEL his relief/restored hope/gratitude when his right hand man came to his side & together they were/are SO MIGHTY. I can just picture in my mind how when they live to battle other beasts another day, with his PRIDE restored, he will never have forgotten the help provided him & will ensure he's there for his Bro, or Sis, or whomever.

Im so proud of the mother buffalo and her calf escaping ,little calf so smart and charming,mother so brave and protective even protecting another found calf.
dude. some escape, some not. Yesterday, it will be different story. It's better to not "solve" it in mind. It happens, happened, and will happen. They only show you faerytales. But at the same time, as this calf escaped, on other place, different one was killed.
Somebody give the iguana a medal 🏅 that was the scariest escape in history of BBC , shout-out to the camera team for risking there lives ❤️
I wasn't going to watch 'iguanas and snakes,' but it was the best episode.
I'd like to give recognition to the videographers who with stealth while mastering the intricacies of their equipment, captured these and many other incredible moments of nature!👍

This was entertaining and fascinating. That lizards escape had me on the edge of my seat literally. Lil homie was born first thing he saw was his bro being eaten. That was the FIRST THING HE EVER SAW. And then he had to run through a valley of snakes. He defied gravity at least twice Im sure of it.

I have seen them all before but the beauty and horror of nature makes me thank my lucky stars to be born an human being.

It's just that there is a disturbing level of depravity and lack of value for human life infecting our society to the point we've been desensitized to the horrific, evil inhumane treatment of one another. At least in the wild while sure is violent, harsh and unforgiving. It's simple survival. They're free of sin unlike us
@@seanmeaney6154 I understand. There is an enormous amount of gun violence in America and Chicago streets can be very dangerous, just being on the wrong street. Humans kill for pleasure all the time but very few animals kill for pleasure. I used to photograph animals all the time and generally they were lovely.
I feel sated to have watched all of these episodes. The iguana/snakes episode has to be the most amazing footage ever caught! Thank you for this compilation, BBC.
Really think that too with the iguana/snakes. It's wild that their strategy is for all to join the hunt when only one gets to actually eat it. When all balled up like that, it's first come first serve and one would think they'd "fight" over it for a while and strongest one gets to eat? Or just sheer random luck? It's a healthy hunting ground else there wouldn't be any snakes at all but I always found that odd. Maybe once a snake gets food, they're out of the chase while the rest continue until all are full? It just raises a lot of interesting questions. Great video to last for all time.

The footage of the lion (Red) fighting 25 hyenas on his own, & fighting like a true brave warrior, & then his brother (Tatu) comes & saves him & sends the cowardly hyenas running for their lives, & then Red & Tatu walk away slowly knocking heads & you see how happy & greatful Red is & how much they love each other is just about the greatest footage I've ever seen, great work David Attenborough & team, long live you all🙂🦁🙂🦁🙂🦁
agreed, the joy of red when tatu saved him and there affection they showed each other was amazing. there was a great chance that lion wouldve died just because the hyenas wouldve kept going for hours to tire him

The two lions are 1st cousins reds mom and tartu mom r sisters, it's very heart warming to see how tartu saved his cousin from serious injuries er death, i can see them when they were cubs playin with each other in the pride while their moms hunt.

I’ll never forget the first time I saw the Racer Snake sequence- talk about heart-stopping?? Of course, the dramatic and thrilling music helps- but the team behind these programmes are just amazing. I’m sure that Sir David appreciates the new technology which allows us to witness things never captured before. He always gives credit to the camera team - he’s well aware of how much hard work and patience goes into filming our beautiful earth and its inhabitants. We are incredibly lucky to have these wonderful people who also take great risks to inform and educate us on the wonders of our world. Peace and love to all- 💖

The last iguana being able to escape from the pack of snakes is so suspenseful. Great video through out.
The mother buffalo had some amazing blocking moves at the beginning of the chase... it was incredible watching this.. and then she goes to save another one... JUST AMAZING!!
All of these episodes were great in their own right, but the most nerve racking one for me was that last one with the iguanas and snakes! Look at those snakes on the attack, all coming out almost at once, (which has me doing double takes to make sure I was seeing right)...when an iguana's presence was felt. I was almost out of my seat, wanting to yell out, while rooting for that last one, then became deflated when it got snagged by a set of those blasted snakes .... only to miraculously escape...then almost getting caught again several times on it's climb up those rocks, and then finally ......FREEDOM!! Man,talk about near misses.....my heart was pumping almost as if I was with that lizard in it's sprint for survival !!Yes sir, my poor heart really got a good workout with that last one! Great show indeed!!😅🔥👍👌😎💪🏼

Yes, absolutely! We owe a great debt to David Attenborough for his tireless work in the preservation of wildlife and his dedication to educating the masses about the beauty of the natural world. His voice is so calming and soothing and his knowledge and enthusiasm are unparalleled. He will be missed when he is no longer with us, but his legacy will live on forever.
That snake island is the stuff of horror and nightmares! I've never seen large gatherings of snakes behave that way - literally chasing their prey down. An unforgettable sight!
I kept wondering, "my gosh, how MANY of those snakes are here?" Poor iguana, but now he has a story to pass on to its kid, lol...

That last one when the iguana got away I saw that show when it first came out and I was on the edge of my seat when little guy was running. That was awesome filming probably the best I've seen. Especially when he runs past and the camera follows him at an angle. Seriously these filmmakers are doing a hell of a job.

I agree! I've watched a lot of these and I've never felt like I was so up-close and personal without the animals reacting to the camera. This was great!
That's the trademark of BBC's animal documentaries: from as far as I can remember, they've always produced superb reports on nature, with top notch shooting and actions. Ever since at least the 70s, they've been the undisputed masters of documentaries, IMHO.
IT WAS more difficult before..with state of are equipments n tech ,it is nowadays easier

The baby iguana that had to run a gauntlet of snakes will forever be a classic. Especially after hearing different voiceovers of that video on social media. 🤣🤣 I hope that iguana lived it's full life 😅

You can see it in Red's eyes the fear from Hyenas and when Tatu shows up the King is dominant once again.
