I had 3 days to get my Lamborghini Murcielago ready for the Gumball 3000 rally. It was left abandoned and i bought it and attempted to rebuild the full car with my dad. The start of the raill was at Edinburgh Scotland heading down to London. But there was a big chance we would run into some issues along the way.

110% DDE had a hell of a time as well. This I think was most definitely my favorite gumball. So many over came hardships and we're triumphant threw the hard times and did the impossible. I love what you guys did . legendary

@qclub_gaming I do agree that the timetable was optimistic London to Edinburgh. But to be fair Gumball can't be blamed for breakdowns etc. (or the stupidity of DDE bringing a car over knowing it had issues) Equally the rally is mainly for the entrants who have each paid £50k+ to enter not people turning up for free in car parks

What separates Mat from everyone on that start line is that no one else has the courage, the knowledge or the relationship with their dad to rebuild a V12 that was essentially on the scrap heap. These are priceless memories stemming from a father/son relationship that the world needs more of. Love your work guys.

Absolutely, it is rare to find a mechanic that doesn't get aggravated and lose their patience at some point working on a car - Rainman Ray is the only other guy I've seen who is like this too, because that certainly is not me! The times I've sent a broken part, broken tool, or random expensive wrench flying into the night are countless and I think almost every mechanic reaches this point sometime, where you just have to go away from the project then come back later...

I love that Mat has something like 4 other cars he could have used on this event, cars that he's had long enough to work out all the bugs, but instead he chooses to go with the one that he barely got put back together. Taken me a while to realise but I think the reason you're so much better than other youtubers is the way you speak. No words are wasted. Very clear, easy to listen to. No pointless waffle which is so refreshing. No um's, likes, hesitation, pauses. It's just great to listen to and I think that's what puts you in a different league.

after watching Shmees gumball journey i was left feeling unimpressed, like yea it’s cool to have 6 cars and to have all those rich guys have fun talking about who’s gonna get the biggest ticket etc.. But Matt’s trip to gumball is so much cooler and rewarding. All the troubles he had to go through to make it there. Literally working on his car right before the race start. That’s the real spirit of Gumball. I think him and his dad will never forget that experience unlike other participants

That's just one of the dodgy things going on here, he's taking a car onto the road that is pissing oil and coolant, doesn't drive straight and apparently has brakes that are insufficient. The whole episode is pretty irresponsible lol.

Love the 'heating on engine cooling' technique. I had a 1986 mini that i used that technique on a daily basis. We used to cook in the summer on long drives.

I don’t comment on videos but this one was an all time great one that I had to say congrats. Constant smile on my face watching the merci make its way to London.
Congratulations on getting it on the road! Sorry to hear about the coolant leak. Normally it is the forward hose that blows but obviously it was not the case this time. It is a good practice to change ALL of the hoses. They are pretty cheap from Lamborghini and especially the tiny ones are quite fragile and prone to heat deterioration. Also with regards to oil, in hot climates it is common to use 60 weight oil as it does a great job of maintaining oil pressure when things get hot. This is a well known upgrade among really seasoned Lambo techs.
