Bush didn't levy new taxes. They were the same old ones but only higher!!! He said no NEW taxes so he didn't lie. People really should pay attention more and ask more questions cause he didn't say he wouldn't raise the old taxes. That being said, we really need to find a way to use the invasive species act to clear out the district. I can't think of any better use for it.

My wife took her van to the dealership. I had just changed the oil and checked her air filter the day before. They sent her pictures of a dirty air filter, and told her she needed an oil change. She was there for an airbag light. It was the clock spring and I already knew it, by process of elimination. I just didn't want to have to be the one to change it. I ended up changing it.

@@Wishes890 Of course you can clear a code on the PCM, or whatever they call it for your make, model, year. Some modern vehicles will throw a code if your heated seats had a malfunction, or a radio speaker is out. If the code comes back, then at least you know you can survive without heated seats. I've seen newer vehicles come on with several codes that are not important at all. The vehicle also has a maintenance code that comes on after an approximate number of miles, like oil change. The dealer or mechanic clears that code when the maintenance is done. I've been a professional mechanic over 25 years son.

Years ago, I inherited a 1964 Bel Aire my dad had driven for years. In the glove box, I found a small notebook. Dad had kept a record of each fill-up with gallons purchased, odometer reading and mpg. Every oil change, coolant, whatever. That old car had a 283 with a single barrel carb. and a three on the tree. It got about 20 mpg on the highway and rode like a Cadillac. Ugly as sin, lol, but reliable.
That make, model and year was my first car! Bought it two weeks before I turned 16 in the spring of '77. :) 230 straight six with three on the tree! :D
1964 Bel Air was a very good low-budget alternative to its more flashy sister, the Impala. But that 283 V-8 was a true workhorse engine with a favorable reputation (1957-1967). One correction: you stated that it had "...a single-barrel carb". In truth, all Chevy V-8 engines came with a 2-barrel carb standard, with some offering a 4-bbl Rochester QuadraJet as a more performance option. No single-barrel carbs. FWIW, I too had a (used) '64 Bel Air wagon (w/ a 283) in college. I used it to flat tow my derelict 1957 Bel Air from Indiana back home to Chicago.

@@Marc-js8rx you're probably correct about the carb. It was almost 50 years ago now, I probably remember incorrectly. One thing I do remember though was that although everything was very basic and manual, it did have factory, in dash a/c. I always though that odd.

Governmental accounting, if you don't spend it, you lose it, so spend more, even if you don't need to. The govt is spending money it doesn't have on services it doesn't need, constantly. Every city, college, state run entities, all of it, Definition of waste.

The debt ceiling is the most absurd "issue". The point of contention is whether the U.S. gov't should pay bills it already spent. I'm sure Scotty pays all his bills, so should Uncle Sam.

Most countries can't pay their national debt. The purpose of the debt is to stimulate economic activity when private capital isn't liquid enough. Bezos isn't going to buy an aircraft carrier for Uncle Sam, and if he did it would be an inmense waste of money. 😅

Going into further debt is a non issue? How many tax dollars does the USA spend per year on just the INTEREST of the current debt?
Also, who owns the federal reserve? What assets do they have as collateral to print money from thin air and then lend it to the United states where they then get real money in the form of interest? On top of that they refuse and have never been audited. It's a ponzi scheme.
Both parties are bad but it's definitely a matter of lesser of two evils. One party wants to completely destroy democracy, the other just wants to maintain the status quo (but also tamper with democracy if needed to do it). So we're stuck hoping for the party who doesn't want to completely wipe out the country.

I keep a log in my glove box for my car. It lists all the oil changes, the transmission fluid and filter changes. I also list any upgrades or modifications I made. All listed by date and mileage.
I grew up very conservative. Then I was a liberal. Now in my 40’s, I’m just like “you’re all crooks with zero conscience. None of you cares about anyone but yourselves, and all you really want is more money and more power.” I feel like we should all forget about political parties because they’re all liars, and just focus on being good people and good citizens. I feel like all parties and politicians are like the band KISS. KISS loved to talk a big talk about “the power of rock n roll” and how much they loved their audience, but meanwhile, they were barely adequate at playing their instruments and all they really wanted was money. It’s the same with anyone in government, no matter the party.
So if you feel good about a specific party? You're ok with paying massive abrupt inflation that could have been avoided? Maybe if you were in your 20s today you could get a free education on how money is printed, except they don't really teach this now days because they want kids indoctrinated into it.

totally agree with keeping the maintenance log - put the date and odometer reading and what you did. Put numbers for consumable parts like wipers, oil filters etc so when you go to buy new ones you get the right ones.

Your right about most dealerships and shops .i am a pretty good mechanic myself and anytime i didnt have time to fix it myself,the shop always screws me over.your better off fixing it yourself if you have the time.
My truck was blowing only through the defrost and the floor. It ended up being a vacuum leak on the outside of the firewall. Defrost is the default setting with no vacuum. When I would get going down the road and give it a lot of gas it would switch to vents and blow out in your face but when you let off the gas it would switch back to defrost because it would lose vacuum. It was a 95 Ford F150. I fixed a little piece of vacuum line and it never did it again. I didn’t have to have a fancy computer just a set a observant eyeballs

Another quick check on the Honda is to see if the tach moves when you crank it. If the tach doesn't move, it's the distributor.

Was told in 2023 I needed new head gaskets for my Hyundai suv because they said it was leaking oil. Well several months later my driveway is still clear and the oil level hasn't gone down, and I didn't have the gaskets changed! I haven't taken my business to that shop since.

Had the shock scam pulled on me, they used oil. Declined the repair planing on replacing the shocks myself I took my vehicle home, wiped the oil off drove vehicle before ordering new shock a month later, no more oil on shocks. Repair shop just lost at least one customer not sure how many they will lose from the review.

Regarding the vents not working in the car Sometimes it’s a vacuum leak I found that out with a ford explorer I had It only came out of the defrost vent no matter what until I fount it Check all vacuum hoses . The engine may run better if that’s the case
2:30 With a Tesla. No coolant. No oil change. No timing chain. No transmission service (unless if you tow a lot, there may be a little maintenance, maybe), but yes, tires need to be rotated every 6000 miles or so (I first had my front-to-back rotated at around 7500 miles).

The electric infrastructure does not exist for charging. And I will bet it will never be adequate. Besides, it's all fueled with fossil fuels. One thing people seem clueless on is that these batteries (besides being expensive to replace and fire risks) is they emit strong electromagnetic frequencies. Not healthy.

Private Sector Debt: As of 2022, the total debt owed by businesses and households in the US is somewhere around $93 trillion. Federal Government Debt: The US federal government debt is currently around $31 trillion. Also, you can't have CAPITALISM without debt. Debt (in the form of loans, credit, etc.) is a common feature of modern capitalism.

I had a problem with a 2015 Chevy Cruze power seat not moving back and front. Turned out to be a fatigued wire that broke abut 4 inches away from the motor that did that function. Man I tell ya, what Scotty said about cars being too complicated is an understatement. There was a IC control box under the seat that probably was for the built in airbag, seatbelt sensors and maybe even the heated seats. I don't have a schematic but if that ever goes on it probably have all sorts of warning lights on the dash.

6:41 funny storey about a Ford Escape. My Dad and his wife were driving their RV down the road and towing their Ford Escape. Dad noticed a noise and a little bump at one point, but didn't think much of it. When they got to the RV park and unhooked the Escape to tool around in it, it would not start. They lifted the hood and loh! The engine was gone! Somehow, something had happened on the road that caused the engine to fall out of the escape. Doesn't seem possible to me. Anyway, they actually had it fixed. New engine and transmission (I assumed) and all. Seems like that would have been a good time to convert it to to electric if they'd been so inclined!
Hey Scotty. I had a very small budget for a car. I found a 2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4.7l with 214k. for $600. I know, i know. lol. Any way, I looked it over and bought it. I drive it now, but the heat/defrost does not work. I changed the resister and tested the blower motor. My floorboard is drenched. Heater core is $900...What should i do???
I would say bypass the heater core and live without it.
Have the dealer replace the heater core and check ALL all the little flaps, etc. in the HVAC system while they've got the dash apart. Then call it a $1,400 Jeep and enjoy the drive. As with any used car, it pays to find a local mechanic that knows what they're doing because stuff will break down which is normal. Keep in mind that some Jeep work -- the really invasive stuff like taking the dash apart -- requires the dealer. Do ALL the maintenance (fluid changes, cleaning, tire balance, alignment, etc.) wherever you can find reliable service. I have a tire guy, an oil change guy, a parts guy, and so on. These are critical to keeping a used car in good running condition. Kept my Honda Accord going for 21 years that way (and it was 2 years used when I bought it).

Pre-21st century Hondas would also exhibit this start/stall phenomena if (1) their fuel filter (firewall mounted) was clogged, or if (2) their starter relay (under the dash) was starting to go bad. I had two Honda's (an '87 driven for 7 years, and a '92 driven for 21 years). Loved them both. Replaced said filters and starter relays several times (as well as the odd distributor cap LOL).

It's full of hate because we allow politics to be so 💩 Instead of building a country that works for everyone our political leaders build one that helps them and their buddies, often rich donors. They don't care about America or Americans. If we are going to stop the hate, we need to clean up our politics. Here is a hint on how: Get money out of politics. Move to public funding of campaigns so ideas win, not giant piles of money from shadowy sources. Then we have a chance to get started on cleaning it up and stopping the hate.

Someone told me that the dealership service centers scam more than the independent shops. Then the dealership did try to scam me into getting my power-steering rack replacement when all I needed to do was keep the power-steering reservoir topped off. Sometimes the power-steering just needs the high pressure hose replaced, not the entire rack.

Those wars are often causing the immigration. That and overthrowing slightly left of center leaders in south and central America in favor of death squads wielding dictators that favor "US interest" aka cheap labor and resources.
