I recently had a log delivery, along with a couple of bags of kindling, I also had some resin that needed using up, so I'm afraid I couldn't resist whacking them together to make the most beautiful hollow form I've ever made 🤣 or is it 💩 I cant make my mind up...

I think this project turned out quite well! I’d love to see you dye the kindling pieces & then do this again. Rainbow pot!
This is absolutely gorgeous. I love how you take something that most people would think is only good for starting a fire and turn it into art.
Thanks 👍
If the resin was orange it would definitely be a pumpkin 🎃 great work as always 👍 👏
Andy,Andy. I don’t know what to say.your mind works in some mysterious ways. I hope your cleanup guy gets paid a bunch to clean up that mess.LOL.good little video as always.just keep doing what you do,but next time, don’t do that LOL.😎😎😎👍👍👍
😂thanks Tom 👍
As with all great artists, it takes time to appreciate a masterpiece!
Wonderful as always, Andy. Thank you from Oregon, USA. Cheers, Will & Alicia
Many thanks!
Wonder how it'd look with a light source inside.
At first glance of the thumbnail I thought I was looking at a bundle of string cheese😂
Ok, now I'm hungry... Again! 😂
Beautiful result Andy. The pattern the pitch made is quite stunning.. Thanks for sharing your time talent and adventure.👍🤟🪡🎨
Bet if this was in an Art Gallery, would sell quickly ! Not my particular cup of tea, but beautiful workmanship !
This piece is actually really cool, I love it. Great work yet again Spiderman 👏🏻 😀
Thanks! 😁
@@AndyPhillipWoodturning Anytime Andy!
The kindling gave a very interesting result. Nicely done.
Thank you very much!
Really cool visual texture, & contrast between top & side sections, as well as lovely elegant curve! Definitely not crap, I reckon 😆
They say beauty is in the eye of the beholder. You never know until you try.👍👌
Another interesting project. I often wonder about the time you spend cleaning up afterward.
I clean up during the process, I can't do with the mess
@@AndyPhillipWoodturning I keep telling Hubby and the son at home to do that in the kitchen. I can't cook much anymore and can't abide a messy kitchen, so I avoid it until I hear the dishwasher being filled. Like the old man was going to ever wash up 😂😂😂!
It has a kind of crude charm. I like it. Maybe do it again with black/clear resin to really crank up the contrast, and/or with many offset layers in high contrast colours to get an 'agate' vibe.
I mean art is subjective, I'm sure someone can enjoy this piece. Though seeing you using hollowing chisels just makes me want to get a set of my own. I did try but it didn't really turn out the way I wanted but I'll find a way.😅
❤️❤️
Kinda of out in the weird realm for your work but the more I look at it the more I like it. Great work as always...❤❤❤
Beautiful, Stunning Vase 😍 It is unbelievable what you have made from some small pieces of wood Andy👏👏👏
Thank you very much!
I feel like this is the first draft of a project that will turn out weird but gorgeous.
I love your imagination as much as your talent. That came out beautifully! It's so different yet familiar. That probably doesn't make any sense to anyone who isn't me, but at least you know I'm bloody impressed yet again! I've shown the old man a few of your videos (I swear he watches you in secret because I told him he should watch you every week! He wouldn't openly do what I told him to 😂😂.) He's taken up woodwork again (disability has taken over his ability to renovate cars anymore, but over all the decades I've known him, he's been very comfortable with woodworking. I think he did a CSE in it. Not a GCSE. I said it was decades 🤣). With a bit of help he built himself another shed at the foot of the garden and disappears down there most weekends. He actually refurbished a beautiful jewellery box for me for Xmas 😊 You're a good role model! He's pretty much addicted to auctions, and over the last couple of years he's got himself a few lathes of different types and sizes (he has a smaller wooden one as a decoration on the front windowsill in the living room!) and he's having a ton of fun. It keeps him off the streets lol. He was even able to buy a huge lot of veneers of many woods (he's actually a qualified tree surgeon and consultant, so he knows a fair bit about identifying wood) for something stupid like £15-20. He used some flame mahogany to refurbish a Victorian writing slope which he keeps his other project stuff in (watches. I don't know why, but he's into old watches. 🤷🏻♀️) For others who are inspired by Andy, particularly if you're starting out, local auctions are fantastic sources of wood, either as restoration projects or like above, veneers. It goes from the sublime to the ridiculous (if you're an auction newbie, go scope one out before deciding to join in on one, and don't forget the mark up!) Many auction houses clear out the homes of the deceased or those who have to go into nursing homes. Their hobby equipment can often be sold at a fraction of its real value (I find that a bit heartbreaking, but you may as well buy it because someone else will otherwise), and it can save you _hundreds_ while collecting tools and materials. Watch out for "how to" books if there's an obvious job lot of hobby stuff. They're usually there in their own lot! Don't turn them down just because they're old!
Your hubby sounds a lot like me 😊. I started out with a Shop smith and then went to an antique lathe that I retrofitted with a treadmill motor. I hope you both continue to find fun things to keep you busy 🙏❤️
If thats poo I'll have a pile of it please😂😂live it great character, well done andy
Dendrology moment with the contrast.
I loved the pattern with the little squares at the top and bottom.
I think what you made with the kindling is very beautiful.
Oh my gosh the top of that really shows even scrap pieces (at least it looked like that) have beauty in them still. I’m a lover of resin and this color really seemed to suit the bowl style. As always 🇺🇸👍🏼
This looks Great... finished art is spectacular and unexpected.
Did not expect it to look so nice when video started.
One man's trash is another man's treasure.
❤❤❤ great grain ✓ fabulous pottery like form✓ as always, put a light in it! ❤❤❤
Beautiful piece, Andy! Really well done! 😃 Stay safe there with your family! 🖖😊
My first thought was it is a Bloomin' Onion. One of a kind. Looks great! 👍
Stunning result, love it.
Thank you!
❤️to 👀, you’re the best wood sculptor on KZhead!
thank you
Good job Phill 👍👏
Turned out great.
Thank you.
I like it it has an abstract charm to it
I like it - I’m gonna call this one “wavy crisps “ 😊💙
Nice vase keep up good work
I really like this , great work, as always Andy.
Many thanks!
I vote YES! Highly enjoyable and lovely results❤😊
Thanks 👍
Nice work sir 👏 only problem i got is you don't post enough love your videos. Please be safe.
Thanks I appreciate it
Another masterpiece!
Turned out really nice
Hi Andy! Nice combination with fire wood and resin 👍. Best regards from Hans and Cheers 🍻🇦🇹.
Thanks 👍
No 💩! I love this! 💙🦋💙
Lmao these are always fun when they're pre-sped up.. my favorite 2x speed channel.. love your videos, Andy! This looks like it would be fun to do... do you sell these, and if so, is it decent money?
Thanks.. glad you like them
Beautiful as always
That’s awesome. Just beautiful. What’s the machine called you’re using? Amazing results from your hard work. Next do a video of the clean up and laundry. 😁
Thank you, its a lathe
@@AndyPhillipWoodturning Thanks. I was going to say lathe since I trim plaster models with a dental lathe but doubted if I was right in thinking it’s a lathe.
Looks great, Andy. I think it looks the opposite of your video title. Bill
At first I was thinking that you were right, and that it did look like shit, but it quickly started looking quite nice. I love the final outcome!
That's really nice.❤❤
Very unique, I like it a lot
Great turning Andy.
Thanks 👍
Absolutely amazing
its got a lot of good lines!
Энди Вы как всегда очень круто приображаете казалась бы простые вещи, обычные щепки для растопки печей или каминов обретают невероятный вид, Вы супер мастер👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
Now that’s cool, very different…love it 👍
How strong is the resulting piece? I guess the kindle wood is very soft, but does the resin penetrate it and make it harder?
I like it. Good job.
Andy thinks to himself, sitting by his roaring wood stove, what shall I make today ? Ah yes, I'll turn some kindling. That should be fun. So he fills a bucket with wood shards, and covers them in resin. And you know what I always say right? "It's no fun till there are cobwebs, Lots and Lots of Cobwebs !!" Oh No, He's turning a Curling Rock !!! HURRY HARD HURRY HARD !!! A Hollow Curling Rock !! he he he he. It's very cool Andy, and no, not so much POOP !!
🤣thanks
At 5:40 it looks like a curling "ball". You should make one.
I like to watch these videos at x2 speed. I like the sound
Beautiful
Thank you
Beautiful !!!
Thank you!
💩! Really? I prefer a pattern but I really like how this came out! Nice work Andy!
Don’t know what it is about it but I really like it
Nice job of fooling, there, Andy! Halfway through, I could have sworn you were making a chamber pot.
Very nice sir have a great weekend ✌️
Thanks, you too!
i think it looks pretty cool!
Thanks 👍
Fantastic x
Excellent، fellow ❤
Thanks
Interesting bowl. Do you keep all of your projects or sell them?
Thanks ... There's a link in the description to my shop
Спасибо!!! 👍👍👍
NOT shit. Just not expected. The more you turned it, the more I got it. Its funky and chunky!
Have you tried using those shaving for a project?
I have in the past, never turns out that good
i like it!
Thanks 👍
Welcome 👍
I would love to start doing this, but epoxy resin is so expensive.
I gave your video thumbs up. But I have no idea what that was. I don't think it would sell. Lol Best of times to you
Thankyou 🤣
I was waiting for it to come apart at the seams or something! lol. She’s not the prettiest girl at the dance, but she’s got a great personality!!
🤣
Love the hollow shape, and your mastery in that craft is as amazing as it gets, you make it look so much easier than it really is. But this one time, sorry, I hate the end result. (I still think there could be good potential with this kindling, maybe with more of a somewhat organised pattern. Looks too 'cartoony' to me this one)
I like it.
Not sure if I am imagining it but ut looks like the tool you are using at 7:20 has tape measure markings on it.
no tape measure markings, think its the makers name
chocolate yogurt? why would it be chocolate yogurt? what a silly emoji! bahahahaha.........
It doesn't work for me. The pattern from the cut ends is fun, but the sides just look a bit off. Part of it I think is that there is too much tonal contrast between the wood and the resin especially when you're not getting the nice grain patterns of the cross-section. But it ws worth a try. And it was hardly a waste of materials in the circumstances. Next time I'd like to see what it would be like with the firewood cut into rough cubes.
Kinda odd, but I kinda like it 😊
Well that was….unique?! You can see the wood grain very well at least 😆
😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍
👋👍
👍💪✌
It's a sticky situation.
That last shot from the top view looks pretty cool.
'wood' you continue making these videos? ill see myself out-
It may be 💩, but if you made it, it's definitely great 💩! Might look pretty cool lit from the inside...
Why not cut the kindling into blocks so they are all jumbled around and you have different faces on the outside
Love your work but that one is definitely a turd. Just being honest without any malice. I have made some turds back in the day also.
I'm glad we agree 🤣
😊
Not sure why you used a poop emoji, it looks fine to me
I don't like it. The shape is great, but the material is rubbish.
Neither do I , did you not read the title??
@@AndyPhillipWoodturning I did, and I agree. Lots of people in the comments seem to disagree with us though.
Not great not 💩
