Hey everyone, a few quick notes: 1: This is not my TeamSeas upload. That one is coming soon though! 2: Yes, I've already made a video covering snakes. That video, unfortunately, got copyright claimed and I had to remove a portion of it in order to keep the video up. I figured since that video was old anyway, I'd rather just remake it. So hopefully this one is way better, too! It's more than twice as long.

It’s said that the most OP snake was the highest ranking rattlesnake player, the legendary Rattlesnake Jake. Interestingly, venomous snake builds developed earlier in the meta than non-venomous builds! This means that many snake mains actually decided that trading out venom was overall a beneficial move. Wild, right? But I'm not going to call them wrong when Colubrid players are almost literally everywhere - clearly they're doing something right!
AMONG US
What the dog doin?
Clearly, they own an air fryer.
I mean, they also gave up legs, so they're no stranger to risky trade-offs.
To be honest one of the limitations of these tier lists is that they seem primarily concerned with solo gameplay rather than the success of the group as a whole. The list seems inarguable with regards to Colubrids when it comes to that criteria, but considering how damned many of them there are it's obvious that when taking the success of the whole group into account these are far from low tier. Garter snakes (genus Thamnophis) are literally everywhere in north and central America. It's sort of hard to argue that this is an F-Tier build when it comes to overall success.
Ants are OP and deserve a tierlist. With all the crazy adaptations over more than 10k species there's plenty to choose from.
Ants today are baby town frolicking compared to older builds. I still have nightmares about hell ants.

I feel brief credit is due to the Eastern Indigo snake, which is somewhat like a Kingsnake build, but much larger: they actually eat _Rattlesnakes._ when you can actually safely feast one not just a high tier build, but a high tier build with normally lethal venom, you’re probably a pretty solid build Also, they actually party up with the gopher tortoise during winter months in burrows, keeping one another warm
As much as I love the Indigo, I doubt it could be ranked as high as the Kingsnake build. Everyone I know that used to be an Indigo main switched over to something else due to their reliance on and the decrease of Gopher Tortoise mains. Kingsnakes also target and eat rattlesnakes, but the Indigo does deserve some credit for being able to take on the largest rattlesnake in the game, the Eastern Diamondback.

They are still one of the only colubrids that are lethal to humans. The only saving grace is that it is not fast acting so you'd have ten hours to get yourself to a hospital.
If you aren’t a competitive player and just want a fun, simple build with a lot of customization options, Ball Python with a human teammate is actually pretty great. The human’s intelligence stat often unlocks new skins and designs for their teammates, and it just so happens that the devs gave Ball Pythons a RIDICULOUS amount of customization options in terms of color and pattern. However, the ball python intelligence stat isn’t high enough to unlock new skins on its own (other than random loot boxes) so you do need a human player to help you out with it.

There's a reason for that~
Fun fact: it's well known that snakes have to shed their skin, but their lack of limbs makes it incredibly difficult for them to do so. As a result, they have a period of time leading into a molt where they're incredibly itchy and will roll around on rocks or fallen logs to scratch themselves. I've encountered cottonmouths doing this while walking on nature trails, and it's honestly very funny. I really cannot overstate how much I don't recommend doing this and how bad of an idea it is, but they'll happily accept scratches from, say, a particularly long stick you found, and they'll lean into it because it feels nice. I, uh, wasn't a very smart kid when it came to wild animals.

King cobra deserves a place in the S tier. King cobra are actually not cobra (Naja), they are a different species/Genus (Ophiophagus hannah), they are called cobra because of the impressive hood. 1. Growing up to 20 feet. 2. Highest quantity of venom delivery. 3. Potent venom. Although not at the same level of inland taipans. 4. Largely immune to both cobra and viper venom. 5. Too big for quick players (mongoose). 6. Extremely smart and thinking animal. Avoids conflict with the players that have cheat code (humans).
I love the way you present this content. This was super informative.
Garter snakes do have the social skill though, something that the majority of snake builds lack. This grants them a good safety in numbers and does wonders paired with their Live Birth trait. Garter snakes also have a unique cold resistance trait which allows them to thrive in some rather absurdly out of place servers such as Canada.
Clearly a garter snake main right here. Idk what you see in them man but respect for not being a meta slave.
I second that. Garter snakes do have social skills and are the most friendly of the nope noodle builds. It's pretty wicked to team up with S tier humans who do gardening. Meta is overrated to the enjoyment.
They really do. I stepped on one barefoot one time and all he did was just slither over my foot like a little snake bro.
A skill some humans even lack
Although the garter snake supposedly carries rear fanged venom vipers like copperheads and most rattlesnakes live communally. This not only brings up their social meter but the extra protection of frontal fangs would bring them up a whole tier in my opinion.

Smart build that can take advantage of humans
I found this quite funny - explaining ever increasingly dangerous snakes as video game characters! Well done :)
For the kingsnake, its worth mentioning that theyve spent some evolution points in specing into the trait "mimic" to boost their intimidate chance. Specifically, they use a coloring which mimics that of the coral snake, a venomous and much more dangerous snake, to attempt to deter/intimidate would be predators. This can work to fool predator builds with lower intelligence stats, and even human mains have had to use their memory enhancing special move "Rhyme" alongside the moves "Teach" and "Learn" to come up with a rhythmic word pattern that helps them memorize which snake to avoid and which is harmless: "Red touching black, friend of Jack. Red touching yellow, kill a fellow". However, since venomous snakes like the coral snake struggle to use their powerful venom defensively, especially against avian predators, this isn't very effective, as an eagle or hawk, even if they don't notice the difference, may not be deterred from attacking what they believe to be a coral snake anyways. The Mexican Milk Snake also utilizes this mimicry strategy with a similar pattern to the kingsnake but with whiter patches where the kingsnake has yellow, to attempt to fool predator mains into believing they are the dangerous and venomous coralsnake.
However, the human "Rhyme" is only effective within the USA region, as in other parts of the North and South American servers there are certain venomous coral snake builds possessing the "red touching black" skin

Jormungandr was supposed to be the final boss of the update who would crush the earth by wrapping itself around the planet. Leaks been disproven ever since
@@CoolBird420 The leak wasn’t disproven, that was the devs plan at the time. What happened was they changed their plan because or the leak. Now… well I don’t have proof but I think they’re gonna do the next extinction event when the human players complete the nuclear weaponry faction quest.

A few weeks ago I almost got struck in the crotch by a tiger snake, nearly 2 weeks after that I almost stepped on an Eastern Brown. I'm currently recovering from a redback spider bite. I think I'm sick of the Australia map. I havent unlocked enough tokens to change maps.
I remember hearing that spitting cobras evolved multiple times independently. And, the timing corresponds to human expansion. Each time humans moved to a new region, the spitting venom adaptation evolved. Considering that the 2 meter range and blinding venom allow it to hit human eyes (average human height between 1.5 - 2 meters), it's safe to assume this adaptation specifically evolved to deal with us.
Black mamba DoT tick rate needs to be nerfed for sure, but also I feel the king snake mimicking the coral snake color was over looked in their defensive or stealth stats, thats some top tier 4head strats right there. Yeah, that's the main thing you have to look out for when running an elephant build. I think the devs added cobras and other DOT-based snake builds to the game specifically to hard-counter the tanker classes in this game.
He really put a “I dropped my croissant” respect
love the old Eyewitness theme playing... bringing back great memories watching those videos in school in the 90s
King cobra should have its own tier on the top.
Ok, you can't give vipers points for having heat pits, and completely ignore that same point for pythons and boas. Pythons and boas are primarily nocturnal ambush predators. You want to see an effective python? Green tree python. Extremely effective bird catcher due to massive front fangs, and excellent camoflauge, and sensitive and large heat pits and eyes make for accurate strikes.
Emerald tree boas too, theyre gorgeous, extremely stealthy, have nightmare inducing teeth, numerous, large, and visually striking heat pits, and some of the largest jaw muscles of any snake
@@expertoflizardcorrugation3967 Know more cool KZheadr you can recommend to me? I mean, i know you like Tier Zoo, so i know your taste... soooo... And by the way, i have much to recommend, too, if you like.
I never agree with the actual rankings, editing and the info are really fun but like how is anaconda b tier when its an apex predator adapted to rivers, why would it need to be versitile on land when it does so well near water
@@pandinus1377 Its not a fish though, so that's that.
@@nenmaster5218neither are monitor lizards, and he considers that a major point in their favor
The top tier snakes are so strong that human builds have a chance to receive a morale debuff from merely seeing a snake, thinking that the harmless garter snake is a top-tier venomous snake
You should see the bug that affects the feline class upon interaction with a Snek player model. The feline physics are turned off and they flip out of frame.
Something to keep in mind for camping snake players is the cuteness ability. Human players tend to fear and/or hate snakes, but those that don't will most likely keep one around. Access to free food and housing is pretty good, and a really wily snek main can attempt to escape and dominate the household and yard unless any bird of prey players are close by.
That squirrel nose flip at the end was a thing of beauty.
Another important thing is that humans are instinctively weary of snakes, so much so that they even came up with the dragon build based on the fear of snakes and crocodiles.
This can work against snake players, however, as many humans tend to kill snakes on sight.
@@jamesshawcross3656 “uhhhhhh all guards snake KOS I repeat snake KOS”
True. But dragon builds are human fantasy which means you can only be them with games inside the game. This means that only human builds have access to them and human build games are just way to simplistic to this one, as most of them have a protagonist gimmick meaning you only have access to one character and their powers are pretty much fixed, meaning you can’t spend evolution points on them
"""weary""""
Dragon builds can take alot of other spiration too, from birds, to lions, even dogs in some cases. Dragons represent alot of humanity's fear of other species
Fun fact snakes are, in fact, meta defining in that it's theorized by psychologists that most humans fear of them is because they often lurk in the trees where our food and safety was in the past.
As someone who's lives in a forest I can confirm that we literally had almost all the trees in a 20 meter radius of our yard cut because any time something hit the roof our first thought was "Oh dear God please don't be a snake"
In fact, both geese and smaller felines figured out that imitating the sound of a snake was a great way to intimidate larger players. Of course, any player that's actually been attacked by a goose or a cat might avoid one that's hissing because "This Thing Hisses Before It Hurts You", not necessarily because "I Hear A Snake".
Kinda like the Sheepdog effect.
Don't forget that they're said to have led to humans gaining the Mortality debuff by baiting them into downloading malware. Though I guess most dataminers think that's just a creepypasta.
Jordan Peterson much. Snakes did give us the best vison of all animals except for birds of prey. Fruits and snakes gave us vison.
I love how you make these list in a gaming style, making everything a bit lest scary
Lmao, the presentation of using snakes as avatars with humans controlling them like a video game, is genuinely genius.
The biggest issue with snakes is that they’re one of the most glass-cannony classes in the game. They have some of the worst passive defences and their usually low weight class doesn’t help.
yeah but they do have a great pr team which makes everyone afraid of them on principle enough to be left alone a lot of the time
@@WyssV Tier Zoo is epic, but he aint the only epic yt-channel, so i created the hobby for myself to recommend youtubers to people. May I?

Who needs defense when you can A) Sit in a pile of leaves and be mostly invisible B) One-shot anything that dares mess with you
Big constrictors don't have that issue, and there are lots of builds that get around the issue with camo or intimidation.
Ok, but corn snakes should be S-tier because they've maxed out their cutie-patootie stats.
YES! I second this!!!
Ball Pythons beat 'em out!
Corn snakes are excellent support combos for humans who are scared of venomous snakes or have family members who are scared.
Corn snakes are cats in (not-so-danger) noodle form
Exactly with this stat you get to easily max everything out with no worries since people are say to fool
This presentation is BRILLIANT!
Just discovered your vid! Very nice presentation/ commentary. I am cracking up 😂
So OP they're lowkey meta defining. Multiple other factions have had to get anti-serpent perma feats and invest the hard-earned perk points to get them to Reaction tier in action cost. We may laugh at cats getting heart attacks over sudden cucumbers, but the serpents smirk. They know.
What is meta defining?
They control the meta
@@huskiehuskerson5300 That, as a class, they have impacted it so much that the meta has changed to respond to them, as a whole.
@@stevenn1940 Oh thanks

I guess Australian snakes are above S Tier, must be why they weren't included.
Black mamba still first

I personally main the water snake, cause i used to main the titanaboua before it got nerfed, and for a while i mained sharks, but was missing the snakes advantage in hiding spots, so i found the water snake build and fell in love, i suggest you should try it out sometime!
This is the coolest way I ever learned about animals. This is the best!!!!
I wish he'd mentioned how the higher tier snakes are so terrifying, they actually give a huge buff to all snake builds in terms of Intimidation. ESPECIALLY to human players- while some can use their Study ability and learn about the different types a vast majority will Dash out the instant they even THINK they see a snake, thusly saving even the weakest players of the build from Humans, probably the most OP of all builds. Though this is also a similarity with Arachnid builds, Snake builds are much more powerful at their best so I'd say this tips the scales in their favor.
This is actually a common mistake in the human player's "danger sense" ability coming from their ancestors, when humans were so weak that almost everything was a bad matchup for them. This is just a skill they have yet to relinquish because it gives them dangersense in social situations now which is useful. Snakes aren't the only ones with this intimidation factor, spiders, bees, some classes of shark (like baskin shark) and many other small form animals have gained a plus in their matchup due to primitive instincts
Spiders have the downside where their unknown danger will cause their deaths where any non-dangerous creature would have gone unsquashed. Nobody fucks with a snake though.
Actually, this is a main feature of the game for various builds, even cats are extremely scared of really anything bigger than them or anything they have fought with on the past, this is actually an obvious double edge sword since it means that anything scared from them will have higher chance to escape and be aware of their location, getting the advantage on the battle.
Unfortunately this is actually a drawback for the snake. A lot of people kill any snake they find for this reason
@@technicaldifficulties368 true, but a vast majority doesn't have the guts to get into combat with one so they'd rather flight than fight
