    • @@manb4war You understand how a TKO works right? Regardless of what you think that is still on his record! He got dropped twice and Porters Dad said before the fight I am stopping it if you go down more than once. That's why Shaun hit the canvas in anger cause he knew.

      @ninjasrose1653@ninjasrose165311 ай бұрын
    • Man if you pause the first knock down you can clearly see right before Shawn gets hit both his feet are in front of him with knees bent very off balance. He was going to fall backwards regardless if the punch landed or not. It is technically a knockdown since he got hit but that was not from Terrence’s power or anything. The second one as well if you pause frame by frame, you’ll see Shawn porter duck, he gets hit once in that exchange but still remained defensive as you can see he blocks Crawfords follow up punch with his rear hand, people think that caused the knockdown but if you look carefully you’ll see Shawn’s lead foot is off balance, and crawfords lead foot is right next to it. The momentum off Shawn’s rear block along with his off balance lead foot next to crawfords lead foot made him go off balance. This is hard for the ref to spot so he claims it a knockdown. In my opinion Shawn got paid to take a fall. Because the fight everyone really wants is Crawford VS Spence.

      @marcelomedina833@marcelomedina83311 ай бұрын
    • @@marcelomedina833 Just stop watching boxing. You're making up a load of shit. Porter is not taking a fall for anyone! He got knocked down, regardless whether he was off balance or not. It doesn't matter! A knock down is a knock down and you can spin it however you want, it's history and no one cares what you think. It's a TKO in the record books and everyone saw him get knocked down. Him being off balance is testament to Crawford's footwork and timing and Shawn's erratic style.

I may not have always liked his style of fighting but he personified the world "relentless" and he never backed down from anyone. Porter was the most skilled boxer bud has fought to this date. I'd like to see him either move up or fight boots enis. Boots doesn't have many fights under his belt but he's probably the most skilled guy he can fight right now in the wieght class. Or fight toe somebody. He's a great fighter but still doesn't have the resume to be up their with the legends yet in my opinion. He can be but he needs to start fighting more often. He beat guys like Postol and Gamboa (although Gamboa is a bit short and wasn't at a good weight division for him) and Indongo was solid, but the notable people he beat @ Welterweight were no longer in their prime (Khan, Kell Brook) and probably worn out (Shawn Porter). Unfortunately, if we ever do get a Spence-Crawford showdown, the excuse would be that Bud was too old if he lost or that Spence was too drained and can't make 147 lbs. anymore if Spence were to be the one to lose.

      @wizeguy2603@wizeguy2603 Жыл бұрын
    • @@wizeguy2603 Lmao. That's why you can't just go by names and instead look at the actual circumstances. Horn never should've had the WBO belt- he robbed Pacquiao for it and he only defended it once against a relative nobody before facing Bud. Apart from those 3 fights, he never had another legitimate title bout. Kell Brook wasn't the same after consecutive KO losses to Golovkin and Spence. He had a fight against a boxer named Zerafa before his fight with Bud where he had some moments that didn't look good. As for Porter, the fact that he already made up his mind to retire (win, lose, or draw) after the Crawford fight tells you everything you need to know. He'd also gone through wars against guys like Spence, Thurman, Danny Garcia, and even Granados. Porter was probably the highest profile name that Bud has on his résumé but he was worn out by that point.

    • Because he no longer wanted to box. He is one of the smart ones. He explained it very well, and said he realized how hard training had become, and he was no longer able to train correctly, so it was time to quit. That is the problem most have, they get into denial, and refuse to admit it is time to quit. It is not about looking good, it is about feeling good. There is one of two things that get elite boxers, or athletes in general, they either get rich and get lazy, or they get old and lose a step. Neither seem to be able to recover from either case. It is impossible to overcome laziness or losing a step. But we see athletes still trying to participate after their time is up. It is hard for people to admit when their time is up. Being old is the worst thing that can happen to an athlete, and it is different with everybody. Some can do it way longer, and some have to end their career early. It is not that they are old in terms of age, it is that they are physically old.

    • Agreed. I feel like he was getting frustrated and abandoned the game plan. I know Crawford's a strong fighter, but I wonder if Shawn could have won by decision had he stuck to the game plan. Shawn started leaning in, and I think he was getting frustrated, because he wasn't landing enough shots. He was after Crawford to get his shots in.

      @teezy7596@teezy75969 ай бұрын
    • @@teezy7596 I think you're right, and I think Crawford did the exact things that would frustrate Porter into abandoning his game plan. The first step was lots of hard body shots; Porter noticeably started slowing down in the latter half. The second part was taking advantage of Porter's go-to punch. Early on, Porter was able to land some solid blows lunging in and ducking to safety, and he was quick enough to both land and continue combos from different angles or the clinch. But as those body shots piled up and Porter slowed down, he abandoned his more complete gameplan and (perhaps instinctively) repeatedly went back to the setup that worked previously. Unfortunately, with his diminished speed, this caused him to heavily telegraph his approach, allowing a sniper like Crawford to readily land devastating counters. Both Porter and his father probably realized this was happening by the end of the fight, which was why Porter was so visibly angry with himself, and his father had to end the fight.

    • Same! I just don’t think it’s going to be easy for Spence like he thinks. Bud is way too skilled. He literally was playing with Porter like it was a sparring match until he found out he was down. Spence is great so Bud has his work cut out also.

  • What’s crazy is that this Shawn Porter despite not being as good as the fight he had with Errol, looked way better than the Errol we saw against Bud. Like this version of Shawn would had also won against this new version of Errol.

    • New version of Errol?nah think about Errol had always had the same problems wide slow feet slow he always drops his opposite hand when throwing,now don't get me wrong Errol is a great fighter to do what he did with that style,but against potter lost because he didn't have the power to keep Spence honest even though he had fast footwork and cardio and he he doesn't have reach so he had to fight Errols style ,against dany Garcia he lost because he was too scared to engage so he got outboxed even though Garcia is fast and has great counters ,against Kell brook had power and physicality bit couldn't take the damage and ugas has no power is slow flatfooted too so they all fought fights that were favourable for Spence like they say styles makes fights but in but he had a guy that had all those gifts including power and reach,so it isn't that Errol changed he always had the same issues that made him lose like the wide feet because of that he made himself smaller and always had to reach when throwing which caused bud to counter him and when Errol moved forward because his legs were so wide he was too slow for buds step back ,the dropping of the hands that's were the hooks came in and when bud moved forward again those feet being wide and flat he could jump back once but not twice so bud knew to juumst push him back and make him lose balance and in the inside push him to the side that's why those body shots were coming without power .

    • There is no new version of Errol, he fought Crawford the same way he's fought everyone since the 2010 amateur cycle. He was just finally matched with someone that had the ability to take advantage of his fundamental flaws.

    • This new version of Crawford looks older than the version that fought Horn. Now that version Crawford would knock out any versions of Errol and Porter in the first round on the same night. Too bad we seeing this old, slower Bud beat up these guys that tried to age him out.

      @ronreed1738@ronreed17385 ай бұрын
    • Ima start by saying that I knew coming into this fight, Bud (who is the fighter I was going for) style was gonna be a problem for Errol. Regardless, I had Bud winning whether be TKO or by points. That night, we saw two versions of fighters, Bud looking to be at his absolute best while Errol looked a bit slower than usual. It's why I mentioned this new version of Errol because he was a tad slower on everything he was doing inside that ring. It's easy to say that Bud neutralized Errol and made Errol looked slower, and though this could be true, I felt that Errol was not anywhere near his previous version self. You can even notice his speech is a bit slower during his recent interviews prior to and after this fight. The analysis coming into this fight, I had Bud winning all the way because he is the better fighter, but I was very surprised how lopsided that fight turned out to be. If any other version of Errol have shown up, regardless, Bud would have won, so pleased don't have it confused as If I am giving a reason as to why Errol lost when it's not what I said in my previous post. Still, Errol looked slower and a bit sluggish from the start and Bud was looking way better than any of his past fights, and if you had a previous version of themselves fight, Bud still wins but wouldn't have been a lopsided win like what we saw is my point here.
