Option C. Castle Leazes. Brand New Stadium. That’s my choice. Sir John wanted it back in the day. Whatever happens - it’s our fans that make ‘a stadium’ the atmosphere, the noise, the passion.
I'd love nothing more than a stadium in the style of the castle keep, on Castle Leazes. Imagine that peeping out over Leazes Park.

Option C for me all day, no need to wait years to build if permission is granted as building can take place whilst St James park is being used.Why not move part of the Leazers Park into Castle Leazers and NUFC pay for the upkeep and maintenance of it?62,000 will not cut it as you need to remember there are over 100,000 members trying to get tickets in the ballots apparently? Don’t worry about filling the stadium as you could drop the ticket prices as per the cup games and this gives less well off people the chance to attend games.
Leazes park is a grade 2 listed park. It would never happen

Newcastle Could easily fill out a 80 thousand seater stadium
Don't think some people realise the toon dominant the whole north of England we have alot of fans thay might not be speed all over the world like some of the other big teams but to are advantage there on are doorstep so we can fill a monster stadium

What is the obsession with having a big ground...80,000 lol ..if we are winning champions league every season then fair enough we might fill it but if we are not successful like we have been for the last 50 odd years then forget it..wasn't thst long ago we average 16000 and low as 10000 until keegan /Hall turned up...there's nothing wrong with St James, by arsenal standards they have hardly been successful since moving grounds....spurs are hardly winning trophies either ,let's get what is important first and have a great team that the fans deserve ...

Option C for me. Move the bandstand & steps; much easier than leazes terrace.
I’m all for plan C it looks fabulous it’s more in keeping with the park and the listed buildings fit in better with the surroundings. The stadium will just looked too crammed in with the other plans. I’d rather see a new stadium rather than a temporary stand to be honest.
Build a new castle on Castle Leazes. Taking inspiration from the castle keep, and the sandstone buildings around town. Leave the old pitch where it is, to allow future generations to play football on the same grass as our legends. Incorporate it all into Leazes Park, so the park becomes our version of Wembley Way. It could look absolutely stunning.
I say option c. If we provide funding and maintenance to leazes park, and dont forget the extra room and light it will give leazes terrace, i think it is the best option. Having been involved in the construction /upgrade of several premier league stadiums, st james needs a major overhaul providing better facilities and experience for fans, including away fans, and a build from ground up will provide that. We wouldnt have to borrow a stadium during construction neither, or lose capacity during construction, which could be a possibility with the Gallowgate expansion 😢
I think they build the new stadium, and keep st James with training pitches, or with a ground for the women’s team to play their matches. Or combine and add a fan zone into it for pre-match etc.

Toon would hit way in excess of 80k on match days under the current regime. The whole of the northeast want tickets think people tend to forget the north east doesn't end with newcastle. Newcastle supporters go as far as berwick and that's just north
I know it's a bit far away but Darlingtons ground isn't getting used is it till we re-build, it's always a option was a good ground or what about after the gallowgate the East stand with vertical retracting stand sort of like what American school gyms have where they pull out on game days sure with modern tech something could be done

PIF are going to want a new space age stadium, this is the jewel in the ground and even going as far as extending the rest of the stadium to be like Milburn and Leazes isn't luxury enough ala Spurs Stadium and Atlanta.

Rebuild the Milburn, lower tier in. move the pitch. Rebuild,adding balcony to the east side. No need to go all the way up. Everton’s new stadium. Gallowgate stand last.
Problem with what you are suggesting; it's just putting off the inevitable, and that is that a much larger stadium needs to be built. The sooner that this happens the better. There are too many problems and expenses incurred by kicking the tin down the road.
Matty OPTION C without a doubt. I am sure something could be agreed with all the stakeholders whereby they could move the bandstand et al to in front of leazes tce to placate all the greens

got the richest owners in the world, untapped potential nobody has ever seen before, and we refuse to even think of the possibility of a new state of the art stadium. Missed opportunity imo but each to their own. in 20/30 years will we want a new one? chance might have gone by then

Option D - Ok so assuming moneys no option...Why not go down? from the outside the stadium height won't change to suit the East stand but from the inside it will be buried into the ground (One side) the other three sides could also stay same height but again be lowered down inside? This would move the footprint out slightly but keeping the height and edge the same at east stand.
After trying numerous times through the Ballot and receiving sweet F.A. Expanding the stadium is the answer.However even then if they run a ballot like they have now it will only P@£S fans off
As much as option C will probably be most people's choice, they'd have to grease the palms of the Leazes Park/conservationists high & mighty to be allowed to do that I reckon. If not only for the bandstand & Terrace. I'm sure a big enough brown envelope will grease the wheels nicely though.
Nah, stuff the gradual build. Got enough of that with fffp. Gan straight for the mega stadium with hotel (Chelsea stylee 😉). Start raking in the massive season ticket revenue asap
Personally the timing of this teaser is suspicious. While a new build on leazes park would.never happen, i think the fans are having a seed planted. Once they crave the new stadium, its easier to persuade them the club needs to.move
When John hall had the club, there was 36 thousand season ticket holders and 36 thousand on a waiting list. Given how long ago that was i would add at least 10 to 15 thousand to that, or we will put grow the ground too soon.
C looks class but in idea world what I think what will happen they would put more seats in the gallowgate end . Like you say put extra 8 thousand seats in there .
I can personally guarantee we would sell out 80k seats. Why wouldn't we? The season tickets have a year waiting list, we have no competition for top flight football in the area and as a Lincolnshire lad, I have never been able to get hold of a ticket every time I've been in the city. As the saying goes, build it and they will come
To compete FFP we are going to have to build a new stadium simple as that spurs earn 6million per match day if we want to stay @ st James park might as well get Ashley back sentimentality will not get us to where we need to be and we need to deal with that
It would be a total waste of money to extend SJP. I know PIF have a bottomless pit of money, but even they won't like wasting it. If the plan is to get capacity to 62,000/65,000 first to see how it goes, then we might as well build a new stadium with that capacity in the first instance. THEN, extend if we can prove we can fill it every week.
I don't think 60-62,000 would be enough to generate the revenue required, has anyone done a calculation on this.

As good as C looks its a complete non starter as it encroaches on to the conservation area of the park and the protected listed victorian band stand and there is no chance in hell the owners would get planning permission. Option b has been done to death so i wont even go into why that wont happen so that leaves A. The most likely on paper but still not straight forward and you have to wonder weather its worth all that time and money for what won't even be that big of an increase to capacity, in any case the fan zone is first on the agenda and with St james park to host Euro2028 games nothing will be happening until that has been and gone, which is still 4 years away, aside from probably the increase in safe standing areas and thats about it, sadly.
Charnleys old master said he was told 40mil to do the East and complete the circle years ago so it aint cheap.But the club needs it.

They won’t waste money on making the stadium bigger to knock it down and start again and build a new one on a different site if they extend we will be staying imo which I prefer, We already have 52k the price to build that again is crazy and add some, it’s far better financially to try and add to what we already have

That’s the main issue I feel, no where really sustainable to play during the build as people suggest Kingston Park with possible temporary stands or Gateshead stadium but it’ll be tricky!

Cant as bad as the old st james park that we woukd have went to . Ticket office in top corner of car park .. no roof in the leazes or the gallowgate..being crushed against the stone pillars after we scored .. miles away from todays ground ..

Have you been to Saudi Arabia or seen the projects they have going at the moment like the line these people don’t just patch things up they build brand new and the best of the best the highest quality building a new world class stadium with world class concourse facilities corporate facilities to attract big big money the money it would cost to rebuild a brand new stadium is peanuts to these people

Extension of Gallowgate will cost an immense amount of cash for what an extra 8,000 seats, bonkers..we need an 80,000 seat stadium asap, start after Euro 28 divvent waste anymore. The East stand IS the problem to maximise wor stadium😢I love wor cathedral but we will always be a poor 2nd behind the gangster 6 if we divvent rebuild….PIF with their billions will decide

We don’t need a new stadium - arsenal have 62k capacity and are in LONDON yet haven’t won the league since they’ve been at the emirates for nearly 20 years and were out of the top 4 for around 4 years. It dosent guarantee anything nor give the big advantage some think it does. Clubs would kill to have the aura of SJP, Anfield, Old Trafford and these grounds actually do win x more points a season than we otherwise would. I can say with confidence we would miss SJP once the buzz would die off after a few years of a shiny, soulless stadium. I saw spurs fans pissed off that they dont have any legend statues outside their stadium and it’s all about hospitality etc. The grass is not greener I assure you. SJP is the best option.

Extending the ground doesn’t make financial sense. Unless you’re going to charge £75 minimum per match.

What they should do is chuck the Freemen in jail and give their cows to McDonalds to turn into burgers. Then, build a new stadium complex on the Town Moor. Currently, it's not an area of beauty - it's just a massive muddy field. It's right near the town centre, and it would alleviate the horrendous traffic congestion directly outside of Newcastle's major hospital and A&E department on match days.

I don’t want to move from st james, we are the only stadium in the league who can put away fans up a height due to how the layout of the stands are, if we moved, we would loose this privilege which would mean atmosphere and flag displays take a hit. If we did move, why don’t we just use one of them pop up stadiums on a temporary basis like the World Cup did? They are built with storage containers but they can be flat packed and moved around.
