    • I don’t know how many times you have been there but when we, B’mth went there in 91/92 for a cup game the crowd was 14,000 on a Monday night and we won, obviously the cookie 92nd minute winner has to be the most enjoyable since we won there in the cup that night.

  • Good review of us. However, the only qualm I have is walk to the stadium only being an 8. It's one of only 2 clubs in Europe that are in the City Centre, and you can LITERALLY get a metro to drop you off underneath the stadium, and buses can drop you off outside. Liverpool, another team that scored 8 is about 4-5 miles outside the city, and you have to walk through council estates instead of amazing architecture (and 108 pubs) in Newcastle city centre

  • Great content lads, glad you enjoyed your visit to Newcastle. There's something like 250 bars in the city centre, you can get a different experience every time you visit and you would be welcome in all of them. We are awaiting a report on the ground this month which will determine what can be done to expand St James' or what the options are for a new ground, so bear with us for improvements. Good luck for the rest of the season 🖤🤍

  • Hi lads, I’m really pleased you enjoyed the weekend and personally I think you were very fair on the marking system you have 👍 As for things to do over a weekend it really depends on who your with (children, couples or just the lads ) depending on your taste, but let’s say it’s couples or a family a visit to Whitley Bay or Tynemouth might be a nice day out depending on the weather as it’s right on the North east coast line but there are some lovely bars serving beautiful food ( fish&Chips is excellent and absolutely massive portions) so be careful what you order😉 Whitley Bay has arcades if you have children with you keeps them entertained or if it’s just a couple you can walk miles along the seafront with plenty of bars on route. If you really wanted to travel just over an hours drive you can head along the A1 and head into seahouses & (Bambrough which has a castle you can visit) many films have been made around that area including Harry Potter, seahouses is a fishing village and is very popular with people from the north east especially bank holidays. Anyway just a few ideas and if your with the lads so many bars and restaurants plus night clubs if you fancy just having a wild night out😉🤣 Take care lads see you all next season and I’m really impressed with Bournemouth this season and the owner is doing everything he said after seeing him on skysports this weekend. 👍 Good luck for the rest of the season and let’s see you finish in the top 10 it’s very achievable this season. 👍

Forth, Tilleys and Bodega is a nice little run on the way up to ground from the train station for next season. • The town wall opposite the train station is one of my favourite pre match drinking pubs, trendy place with a massive selection of beers and craft ales. The old George in the centre of the city is a quality typical old English pub with good atmosphere. For something very old and different with a snug check out the crown posada towards the quayside. Enjoy lads.

  • As a Newcastle fan the main problem with the atmosphere is that our main singing corner is in the opposite end to the away fans and neither sets of fans can hear each other most of the time. Used to be way better before Ashley made level 7 a family area. Whole Gallowgate needs to be safe standing or get rid of the family area

  • A fair-ish summary but a couple of things…The area is surrounded by parking and stadium sits on top of its own Metro (tube) station- you couldn’t get any closer transport-wise without helicoptering directly onto the pitch. This gives you a 2 minute walk into the ground? You did go to a super generic pub rather than any of those that the city is famous for (some of which are closer to the ground)?

  • Nice balanced view. I agree with the atmosphere at home nowadays. Depends on lots of factors, who we're playing, how we're playing, time of ko which sound weird but it is a factor. There have been some easy 10/10s across the last couple of years PSG, Arsenal, Man City, the other Manchester, Chelsea, Everton, Spurs (for the first 25mins, we were so in shock at 5-0 we didn't know what to do haha). I would say you were harsh on the walk to the stadium given there are 10/15 pubs 1 minute away, a bus stop that drops you right outside the Milburn stand and a Metro station underneath the stadium. Overall though, just give us the win now, forget the rest of the season. Oh and geordies are definitely the most welcoming bunch you'll meet, unless you're a Makem 😂 take care!

Just as a starter, the Quayside and sampling the nightlife around the bridges and the pubs all over the city centre is a must. If you’ve went from the junction up the stadium on the route you took you probably missed 90% of the bars and city centre. I think that's because of our performance, we struggled in the previous home game against Luton so expected a reaction against yourselves and it didn't happen. I thought you played ok but nowt startling. As for a designated pub the great unwashed use, couldn't happen. In the recent derby at the Darkside you had to travel on club provided busses and you didn't get your ticket until on the bus. Massive police presence, absolutely no way either side could drink in the others pubs

  • Newcastle fan here. You Bournemouth fans have been unlucky with the atmosphere. The three games since lockdown have been an (amazing but they attract first time fans) night cup game, a game diluted by the Queen’s passing and one of the worst performances at home since Steve Bruce was in the dugout. Sadly wasn’t at the cup game but the two most recent league games actually stick out in my head for how poor the atmosphere was compared to how it normally is. Hopefully we beat you for once next season but always had a soft spot for your lot. Longest journey of the season, you’ll admit you’re a small club but you always bring a decent set of fans. HWTL

  • HA ha ha having a laugh aren’t you???? NUFC having an underwhelming season. Please put a little homework into your script. A decade and a half of battling relegation almost every season. Yes they have been bought over but still over half their squad is from pre buyout days. All this season decimated with league leading numbers of key personnel injured but still in with a shout for arguably 5th place, and leading the pack for 6th, which would mean back into Europe. When you look historically at teams (outside the regular six contenders) that achieve Europe they normally bomb the following season, but they, NUFC are still well in the dogfight. Man City, Chelsea and other that got big spending owners took 3 to 5 years to even begin the start the ball rolling. Meanwhile at NUFC they turn a 19 place relegation battle into 11 place, and in their first two full seasons go champions league and leading the pack for Europe again. And you say an underwhelming season. Hoy shit your club must be minimum ECL semi finalists every season if you think NUFC’s season is underwhelming. What on earth are your criteria for seasonal achievement and acceptable season’s efforts???????????????

    • We used the "underwhelming" quote from one of your own channels from the beginning of April. I suspect they mean "underwhelming" compared to the previous season... but why worry about context when you can bash your anger out on a keyboard Friday afternoon when the sun is shining outside? Hope getting that off your chest now enables you to have a good weekend.

    • @@afcbpodcast Hi, and thanks for the reply, yes this is a bit long but it is what it is. I was initially considering the possibility of an apology. But the body of your reply caused me to reread what I had initially typed aaannnnd, no! the apology thought was quickly dismissed. That was quickly dismissed when I read through the number of false assumptions you made for your reply. What makes you think I am a toon fan??? To quote “from one of your own channels” is it simply because I posted on a NUFC centric video? I was following Bournemouth for several seasons because Howe had them bucking the trend and playing well above their perceived player value. Then following NUFC as post take over they are showing the very same properties as Bournemouth did when he dragged them up three divisions, without huge investment and player personnel changes. I have followed Brighton this last couple of seasons because of the way they were playing, same goes for Villa as they are upsetting the leagues upper order. That’s what interests me, the tactics employed in order to overcome financial restraints. You post up video’s in the hopes of it paying for itself and making your hobby a money maker, no problems I understand that, but you need to understand that not everyone is a moron and as such you may well get the odd kickback about what you are saying. As in this instance. All I did was point out an error, you deflected that ‘error’ by saying you lifted it from another NUFC site/page/blog/video. Which just reinforced my claim of you are not doing enough homework on your script. To use a throw away comment from a disgruntled or possibly deliberate contentious poster shows gross neglect unless you being deliberately contentious. I am not in any way taking things out of context, you used the term “underwhelming” and obviously did no checking, if you now suspect that the term may well have been used in error then why lazily use it in the first place. Had you made clear it was a quote then this reply would not exist. I am not bashing my keyboard in anger, I never post in anger, that is when you make mistakes, and type things you wished you had not. My comments are meant over the whole to be seen as constructive not destructive, I pointed out your misquote simply to highlight the error and suggest better homework. So suggestions are,,, do not lift sources without verifying their accuracy, that one source may well be the only f***wit that is complaining as their favourite player did not score. Verify you data,,, you said underwhelming, I gave a host of simply verifiable FACTS to show the opposite.

    • @@cupiddstunt Ah apologies for the assumption that you were a Newcastle fan. I thought you were, which, to be honest, makes your reply even more bizarre. But each to their own! That said, I'll give you the respect of a more fuller reply here - the bottom line (for me, not a journalist) is the amount of Newcastle fans who have commented and NOT flagged up the "underwhelming" comment, a word which came from another channel which we regularly buddy-up with for pre and post match content. By the way, I'd LOVE to have scripts as you suggest, but we do not. This is an error on your part, but don't worry, I won't ask you to "do your homework". Either way, I'm genuinely flattered by the level of journalism you expect this channel to aspire to, but given you understand this channel is wholly a hobby, you'll know that we've not got the luxury of having the time to carry out research which polls Newcastle United fans about their current opinion on the club, especially for a video that references everything BUT the football. Either way, your comments are welcome, but based on your expectations, I'd kindly suggest this channel is probably not for you. Enjoy your weekend and up the Magpies/Cherries/Seagulls/Villa.
