No problem, gotham. As a time traveler from the future, I can say that the 2024 world chess championship was a great match. It was a close race but the 2024 world champion won out in the end.

This is the start of Levy's Gukesh arc. Goodbye Magnus 😞
I love that you started removing the eval bar. Forces me to learn how to evaluate positions. Plus, it adds to the suspense, as you said.
Levy should be a news reporter. Managing to make a 13 year old's chess game against his coach the most exciting thing to happen this century.
The world championship hasn’t ended. It’s now 2047 and Gukesh and Ding are still playing 3+2. Good news is that Nepo is waiting to play the winner for the 2026 championship.

Plz 😂
Nah bro will stick to Magnus
Gukesh never fails to levy the milk
Why everyone talking about milk?
@keithg460 "milking" a topic = extracting as much content as possible from a given topic. A common comment is "Levy never fails to milk [insert player]," but it was rearranged for a joke comment.
Of all the content you put out this kind of review of high level play is by far my favorite (old and new). The way you walk us through the game is both educational and engaging. Thanks again and good luck on your road to becoming a GM.
1:20 One example of a player playing against a coach is Thomas Muller from Bayern Munich against the current coach of Bayer Leverkusen, Xabi Alonso. They used to be on the same Bayern Munich team
no wait, to make the example work like Gukesh vs Gajewski here, you need to go find one of the games where some current Leverkusen players coached by Xabi faced him on the field. Say for example, Borussia Mönchengladbach vs. Bayern Munich, 19th March 2017, with current Leverkusen winger Jonas Hofmann on the field for Borussia, and Xabi Alonso for Bayern.
@@rp3351 that is even better! Love your ball knowledge

@@Ryanmuniversetheres still like 7 or 8 months..Ding may or may not come back as the beast he once was
A tiny correction: Gukesh is the third youngest player to ever become grandmaster, which makes him even more impressive than what you described. The fourth youngest is Yağız Kaan Erdoğmuş from Turkey, who became eligible for the title about a month ago.
Who are the 1st and 2nd?
@@stuarthys9879 Abhimanyu Mishra from the US in 2021 and Sergey Karjakin from Ukraine in 2002
@@FlyingLine Thanks! I’ve actually never heard of Mishra. I’ll keep an eye out for him! I heard that Karjakin manipulated the rating system with people throwing games though, so that’s a bit sus to me. Gukesh seems legit though! In my opinion the next ten years will be Gukesh vs Nordibek Abdusatorov quest for the top spot with Carlsen trying to hang on.
@@stuarthys9879 Actually there are speculations that Mishra's dad paid money to some grandmasters to draw their matches in some sketchy European tournaments so that his son would get the new world record his dad obviously denies all of it
@@stuarthys9879 You "heard". This is unsubstantiated slander that goes back to the Cold War and Bobby Fisher, who claimed Soviet GMs manipulated tournament results through draws. Also, Karyakin gets hate because he took Russian citizenship after the Ukrainian coup in 2014, refused to play under a neutral flag and went into politics instead with a strong antifascist position, which basically ended his promising chess career because he stood on principle. Cheaters don't have balls this big.
The only thing longer than DBZ episodes is levy's explanation of 1 min online chess games
Playing like lelouch from Code Geass. "If the king does not lead, how can he expect his army to follow"
"now imagine Gukesh A" always gets me 😆
What a game by Gajewski, honestly he had to be very precise and after that bishop sac, it was such a dominant spree of king hunt for a long time, props to Gukesh for playing along and believing in himself, Confidence really does matter at higher levels, It will be interesting to see Gm Levy full of confidence too!! (all the best levy)
I gotta say I'm kinda rooting for Ding in the championship. I feel like everyone kinda talks about him like they talk about Nepo, "ohh, he's good but he's not great, he kinda just lucked his way into the championship, he's an asterisk on the title". And yknow, if Gukesh stomps him, Gukesh 100% deserves to take the title, he's gonna be a legend for sure. But idk, I hope Ding wins it for another year just to prove that no, he isn't a fluke, he's him, he's on the fabi/hikaru/nepo level with the best of them for sure.
it's gonna be a spicy teenage indian vs the long-suffering chinese veteran who "lucked" out of the terrible covid pandemic into being the world champ. i think both are great players and have their own insane stories, against the backdrop of the two most populous countries with their own insane stories rising in the chess world in recent history.
It's tough to get behind when the "World Championship" is between the sixth and seventh highest rated players in the world. At least when Magnus was champ there wasn't a doubt that you were playing the best in the world.
@@friendrequestsent4459 world championship is a tournament, that decides the world champion and not the best in the world. many might link these, but in chess, its different. magnus semi retired from classical chess. he is not in the competition. so during world championship cycle, he is not the best, but fabi is. if fabi didnt win, its his fault, not gukesh or dings.
So he played like: "You wanna go crazy? Ok lets go than." thats a style that i like. :)

My favorite moment in every gotham video is when he removes the evaluation bar especially in this one cause before he removed it, it was going wild for tactics I would've never seen. so I got legit scared after he removed it here as if I'M playing the game 😂
Gukesh gives off the main character energy.

Gukesh did really choose a fantastic coach. Gajewski is a fantastic coach of Chess that he helped a young prodigy on his road to the World Championship.

What he ain't a gamer
I saw the weird looking Na6, because Nc6 felt like it was a pointless movie and seemed like it did nothing lol!! The play on the move Nd3 felt premature and weirdly timed, black didn't have enough pieces to cover the light squares and the d file... But I just went along with the story since it was a GM who was playing it and the evaluation bar wasn't there 😆
