Sangita Myska to Israeli spokesman: "Please respect me!" | LBC debate
Lord Cameron has described Iran’s strike as a “double defeat” and said that Israel must now aim to deescalate wider conflict and focus on defeating Hamas.
“Iran has suffered a double defeat,” he said.
“As Biden said, take the win and focus now on Hamas. There is a deal on the table to release prisoners and pause the fighting. Take that deal."
He said that British planes shot down a "small number" of Iranian drones en route to Israel as they were "backfilling" for the US in operations against Isil in Iraq and Syria.

The main difference is that the US/Israel alliance is far more formal than the relationship between Hamas and Iran. Iran likes Hamas (from an ideological perspective) but they aren't true allies. They don't call each other to war. They war independently.

Yes, I wonder why they're not being fed properly... Couldn't possibly be due to the IDF preventing food going to the hostages. The fact that it didn't dawn on Israelis that blockading Gaza meant killing the hostages (due to starvation, disease, etc) is seriously concerning. The fact that any hostages are alive at this point would be testament to the fact that Hamas has a more moral stance on this issue (taking care of enemies) than Israel.

First Israeli soldiers killed their own people on October 7th. Then Hamas protected those people by bringing them back to Gaza. Then Israel bombed Gaza killing thousands of Palestinians and their own people who were now being kept in Gaza. Hamas (if thats the wording we want to use), had to at some point fight back. Do they regret fighting back on October 7th? I doubt it. Either you die swinging or on your back.

Iron Dome and the rest only do that if the areas they are defending are calculated to be on trajectory to hit. Ergo, Iran was spraying-and-praying the entirety of the place. They just didn't neet with the success they desired.

@@Xenomorphine They weren't trying to be successful - they wouldn't have telegraphed the attack if they wished to be successful. Understand that an attack is not always a provocation. Iran felt like it couldn't not respond to its embassy being destroyed. It felt like it HAD to respond (considering 5 Iranians died) but it didn't want to start a larger war so it telegraphed an attack knowing US/Israeli and other forces would intercept most of it and minimal damage would be caused. Then they can tell their people "we did something but were thwarted" while preventing a larger war. Keep in mind Iran is not incapable of doing a better job attacking Israel. They have a lot of proxies they could've used and I'm sure like most countries they have spies and other things. This could've been the Wailing Wall being blown up by a spy inside Jerusalem but it wasn't and that's on purpose. Iran had other avenues to attack - a missile strike isn't their only option. To pretend this was a "serious declaration of war" is to completely misread the situation and underestimate severely Iran's capabilities.

If you are trying to be sarcastic you should look up how all international human rights organizations have been condemning Israel for years for their practice of admisntrati detention of Palestinians (without a charge or trial holding them for 6 months in jail, where many of them are tortured btw, but it's a separate issue).

Dude the Iranian Embassy in Damascus exists. I know that because I am from the middle east and each one of those countries has an Iranian diplomatic mission. This is not the first embassy Israel bombs btw, they'd already bombed the Iraqi embassy once before.
