Ep 136 | We discover a Roman Village on our doorstep! | French Farmhouse Life
In our local town of Argenton, we explore the ruins of the nearby Roman town of Argentomagus - incredible to think that this has been here for over two thousand years!

We have the loveliest supporters and followers of our KZhead channel 'It's a Wonderful Life'.
We remain committed to provide our content regularly, and of late, to increase the frequency of our vlogs. We have and continue to receive, many kind requests, to send gifts, or in some way help us financially with our channel.
We have given this a great deal of thought. Whilst 'Patreon' and 'go fund me' are out of the question for us, we feel the 'buy me a coffee platform' (or for us, a cup of tea!) would be a great way to do this, especially in light of its ease of use and non ongoing commitment.
Any contribution towards maintaining and hopefully enhancing our channel is very much appreciated, but never expected.
What an amazing piece of history right on your doorstep. Thank you for showing us. Xx

Just amazing. Thanks for the history lesson. I love ❤ this channel. You two are the best!!
love you guys
That “Willie” carving that Anna pointed out, in Roman times signified the direction to a bordello. If you go to Pompei, you can see more examples of these “street signs” showing the way to bordellos. Crude, but effective ways of showing the way. 🤔🙄😬😂❤️
Thanks for sharing! Love the history you two share with us! Always so interesting! Merry Christmas to you and Anna!
Many thanks for sharing. Interesting. Merry Christmas and best wishes for a healthy and peaceful 2024. It is great to see your vlogs once again. 🎄🍻🍷🎄

Hello Anna & Peter! Well that was unexpected & extraordinary! Never heard of it that is amazing location I love out of peak season always! Lovely to see you again. LOL I love the Life of Brian! "He's not the messiah, he's a very naughty boy" LOLLOL. Merry Christmas🎄✨ to you both, see you soon. Thankyou for sharing..
I visited Argenton sur Creuse in September 2022 because you showed it in one of your vlogs. It was so interesting and beautiful. The WW2 memorial was very sad. Thank you for showing us another interesting location in France. It is now on my list to visit on my next visit!! ❤
I love anything ancient Roman. One of my most favourite fictional ancient Roman is Marcus Dideos Falco. Has anyone read that series of novels?
I was born in Argenton sur Creuse, 83 years ago and have lived in the US for 60 years. This area must have been developed recently Do you know when?
The holes on the stones may have been drilled to accommodate the X-shaped grips used to lift the stones.
What an interesting site
I’ve been up Masada in Israel and the Roman’s built a long ramp that’s pretty impressive.
so cool
As KZheadrs living in Chateau KZhead land and UK Channel 4 TV! I am surprised you haven't interacted more with them. I think rubbing shoulders with very successful KZheadrs will increase your subscribers and of course, help them??? I have really enjoyed your very polished delivery of content. Bring on more. Thank you. go on then get together.
They interacted with The Pethericks very successfully. It was a brilliant vlog.
Happy Christmas to u both Lisa xx. ❤🎄
Those Romans were something else...I'm an amateur historian and spent many hours reading about the Romans - fascinating peoples and culture. They left so much behind, I feel like I know many of them personally. Thank you for taking us along - only wish I could see it in person.
If you are interested in history, check out the Etruscans, they were the forefathers of Rome and their incredible wall building is still in evidence today in Italy. 😊
"Wolf's nipple chips, get em while their hot, there lovely"
That was a wonderful interesting trip! I love to see anything historical, especially Roman architecture. Thanks for taking us with you!
Amazing Roman village. When Miss Anna is walking I miss seeing Charley next to her ❤
It boggles my mind with the Roman Empire. Anna, thank you for reading as some youtuber figures just show a pic of what is written and don't share. I do enjoy the restaurants and cafe's you visit but I really enjoy watching you cook, Anna. ❤❤❤
Thankyou for the amazing village . It just shows you how todays buildings are basically built on the same principal concept. Thankyou for sharing Anna and Peter😘
Very interesting seeing the ruins of the Roman settlement- there is an Argenton in New South Wales here in Australia - unfortunately no Roman ruins! Merry Christmas and all the best for 2024. Thank you for your vlogs.
Oh my gosh that was so interesting. To step on something that people in the Roman times used must be thrilling. Living in California we sure don’t go back very far. I love it when you have time to show us your town. But I love all your videos so you can’t go wrong! ❤
❤
Interesting!
Would like to wish you both a very Happy New Year xx
The Roman’s were very intelligent when it comes to building and paying things out. Very interesting! I hadn’t really thought of them even being there in France but of course they were, enjoy your coffee! Hugs, love, and merry Christmas from Texas!
What an interesting place thanks for sharing merry Christmas to you both
Interesting
Now I know that the house Edd is rebuilding in Bordeaux Life was built by the Romans! 😂 This was a wonderful field trip, Peter did a wonderful job orienting us to the site. I was very impressed with this local important site. thank you for bringing us along. I’d love to understand the poly too? It is bizarre!
What an amazing Roman village! Amazing that such buildings even exist! Who wants coffee when wine and cold, ice cream drinks are available! Great vlog! Cheers!
Were the drone shots yours Peter, new toy?
Now I’m sure you both can’t wait to get home and have some Badgers noses and Otters spleens yummy!
Very interesting seeing the ruins of the Roman settlement- there is an Argenton in New South Wales here in Australia - unfortunately no Roman ruins! Merry Christmas and all the best for 2024. Thank you for your vlogs.
