Restoration Of Vintage Mechanical Coin Bank - FULL SERVICE 1932
Restoration of vintage mechanical coin bank from J E Stevens model Cast Iron Full Service Car from year 1932.
THE RESTORATION PROCESS
I dissembled the coin bank and sandblasted all the big parts. The small parts, such as screws, feathers and minor cast iron details got cleaned up in the mini tumbler. I powder coated all the parts with primer and hand painted all the details two times.
I found some old coins in the coin bank and I soaked them in olive chili oil for 4 days. And they came out super beautiful. The one I liked most was a Swedish 1 schilling from 1835. I will keep this one as my lucky coin in my wallet.

I find myself watching in wre hours when I can't sleep. There is something so mesmerizing about watching sandblasting. Hypnotic.
I'm just gonna say, the format for the restorations here is amazing. No long winded commenting, so loud unnecessary music, just lovely ASMR of all the little things happening. Clinks of the parts against glass, the sandblaster wooshing away, and so much more. I think we all can take time to appreciate this and the work gone into bringing life back to these wonderful antiques. Thank you sir for your hard work and wonderful content!

You've probably already figured this one out but the first coin is 50 Macedonian Denars, MKD for short which is around 0.80 cents in Euros. It's not very old it was introduced a couple of years ago. Before it was introduced we only had a paper 50 denars. I have one in my pocket right now :) Great video by the way. Thanks!

Mike Uy it really is satisfying to watch. My dad got a pressure sprayer when I was 12 and I spent all day spraying the sidewalks around our house. 😂
My grandpa had a few of these. There was a bowling one he gave me where the coin rolled down the alley, and a Jonah and The Whale one where you put a coin on him and then his wife fed him to the whale, one where a dog jumped through a clown's hoop and put the coin in the barrel, and one where you shot the coin out of a cannon into a bunker and there was a solider who would signal when you shot it. I don't know when they were from but they're pretty cool.
Sounds pretty cool :)
Cool
I have the dog jumping the hoop and the Indian shooting a bear. They are really cool. Mine are in much better shape than this one.
