Restoration of a 1860 ( Napoleon III era ) Lefaucheux revolver. We have found this gun while magnet fishing in South of France.
Judging by its condition, it has been in the water for decades.
The gun was damaged but we decided to preserve it by removing the rust, making it functionnal and protecting the metal for a display.
Judging by its condition we decided not to contact the police.
This video is only a restoration of an historical object and in no way about the apology of weapons.
Here is the video of its discovery : • On trouve deux pistole...

    • Has it been confirmed that this is now functional as a firearm? I can't imagine it's the same caliber it used to be, given how much internal material was removed from the cylinder chambers and the barrel. I mean, mechanically it functions, but did the tolerances survive to actually be able to fire safely and accurately (at least, within a reasonable degree of how accurate it was when manufactured)? Because to me, a tool (especially a firearm) isn't "functional" if it can't be used for it's original purpose.
