The Avengers: Endgame anniversary is here, and what better time is there to think of Avengers: Endgame and its impact. The Avengers movies are monumental, with Iron Man beginning the whole saga and Endgame finalizing it all alongside Captain America and Thor. This will never happen again, Marvel Studios did something that can’t be repeated, with Avengers: Infinity War setting up the crowning achievement, with Thanos actually winning out. Will Chris Evans and Robert Downey Jr. return? Some say that’s debatable, but as shown in characters like Black Widow or Hulk, even if a return can happen, it may still never touch Avengers: Endgame levels ever again. Tony Stark changed what a superhero movie could be, with his power in the way eclipsing even Captain Marvel. It’s hard not to have emotions stirred by the sound of the theme song of Avengers (or maybe specifically the Avengers Infinity War theme song), and that took time to craft and create. Will there ever be another Avengers: Endgame? Another casting as good as Robert Downey Jr. as Iron Man? Probably not. And that’s an achievement, not an insult.
Just like there will never be another wii bowling 😭
🤣😂🤣💯
Bro what lol
Endgame probably slaps hardest as well because it was the last major cinematic event experienced worldwide at the same time by millions of people before COVID.
This is a fantastic point
agreed
🏆🏆🏆Post!
so true ,last time the world felt Normal
our blip
When u build up 10 years just to say Avengers... Assemble! Nothing will beat that moment, ever!
Agreed
X-men and fantastic four joining the fight and sharing the same universe will
❤❤❤
No superhero movie (or movie in general) will ever top the Infinity War and Endgame experience, this was the end of the golden era of superheroes. Now it's over.
MCU golden era. Everyone else that isn't trying mimic the MCU is doing great.
MCU: “Hold my beer” X-Men, Fantastic 4, Ghost Rider etc
@@MultiBro88 their current xmen show is better than most of fox and the mcu so clearly thats false
@@MultiBro88 Incel needs to shut up now.
@@MultiBro88did you just assume their gender? It's x-person okay?🤬🤬🤬
Welp. Time to re-watch this movie again and cry for the 100th time
Secret wars could definitely pull something insane but there was nothing like the build up for this one. Definitely a 1 of 1 theater experience
Secret wars wont need as much buildup if they do it properly. Everything ever done would come back
NGL, when Falcon says "on your left" then TChalla appears, a thug tear was shed.
Especially after Chadwick passed. Brings me to tears every single time now.
it's a once-in-a-lifetime experience to scream, cheer and cry for a movie character inside a cinema along with the rest of the audience across regions
Avengers: Endgame was something that no one ever expected to happen back in 2008 when the first Iron-Man was released. No one would have thought a movie about a narcissistic billionaire who builds a suit of armor in a cave with a box of scraps would lead to not one, not two, not three, but four billion dollar crossover films, or even other heroes either. Yet, in 2012, Marvel set up something with Thanos at the end of The Avengers, and then again in Age of Ultron with the Infinity Stones and Thanos again in 2015. It all led to Infinity War's build up and downer ending for the payoff we all know happened the next year in 2019. It all meant something, and it all felt like the biggest event in cinema history. I'll forever be grateful that we have the Infinity Saga as a large overarching 11 year story as a film series. Nothing will ever top it.
100% agree, endgame really was the ENDGAME 😂
Don't be sad because it's over; be happy because it happened - embrace the past with gratitude and optimism, even when it has ended.
I’m glad we got to experience it
Same
Xmen 97 episode 5 almost captured that infinity war feeling and in such a short time frame
The russo brothers deserve a lot of credit
Its also the screenwriters and other people. The russos alone didnt create anything great outside of marvel
@@Crowbar But we're not talking about outside of Marvel. So the rest of their filmography means nothing. The guys comment is specifically talking about Marvel. Don't forget they also did Civil War and The Winter Soldier. Their track record with Marvel is impeccable
@@Geohillierneo all of those movies had the same screenwriters
@@Crowbar Deadly Class was dope.
It's true this was utterly incredible and a perfect culmination of an awesome saga. The portal scene is possibly my favourite moment ever in a cinema, and made the little kid in me wanna jump in the air. Its a perfect scene, with the perfect score to back it up.
Not mentioned but worth saying: we’re never going back to a pre pandemic movie industry either
It all changed so starkly, there is zero chance that Hollywood will return to what it was. It lost its creativity and traded its soul for money
No John. If you want Hollywood to change then the toxic fans must change because they are just perfectionists who want every single movie to be completely perfect
@@daniellewis4154 no we just want quality movie not some half-baked fantasy movie and call it a day like a janitor job
@@johnshelton22 that's not entirely true. and also, that was an issue way before Covid hit.
The experience of Endgame was freaking amazing!!! No Way Home was the closest thing we’ve had since then and hopefully across the spider verse will have a similar experience
Madam Web happened
You mean Beyond the Spider Verse?
Endgame was the movie that put Marvel in this situation
How? You are letting that film completely overshadow other films and expect future films to be perfect
It's not endgame's fault. the problems with modern marvel is on the new writers.
Y’all just get on here and say anything.
It's not marvels fault. It's Disney's.
Deadpool finna revive it
Infinity war was way better, just my opinion. The hardest choices require the strongest Will.
Infinity Wars was definitely the better film. Although, the 'emotional' ending that was such a big deal at the time works against it now because all those deaths meant absolutely nothing at all.
AdAstra, we already knew spider man was going coming back as we knew that he still had some movie sequels coming. Some of the deaths in infinity war were permanent as the main version of Gamora died as well as vision. Plus black widow and iron man sacrificed themselves to bring back those who were snapped. You are disrespecting black widow and iron man’s sacrifices
Nah they were both pretty damn great
Great presenter, you can hear the emotion in the voice. Great Review 💯
It cracked several times
I'd just like to say, this is a very well done presentation. This woman sums it up better than most, and you can tell it means as much to her as it does to us all. Fantastic work, Kim!
A thing isn’t beautiful because it lasts
Calling it, Deadpool and Wolverine appearing in the endgame fight
Whaat? How so? You think Deadpool 3 will revisit this fight or something?
I'm just guessing that the sling ring portal that appears in the 2nd trailer of Deadpool 3, it leads to the endgame battle
And deadpool will save mcu snapping and him dying and growing back in life again qnd mcu is save marvel jesus saves the cinematic universe of disney youre welcome spoiler @shouldertap7718
Agree but it will be the female deadpool and wolverine variants and they will become lovers
Appreciate the script here.. Wonderful and inspiring.
I’m just glad and grateful to have witness this ending phase in theaters with most movies, mainly endgame, such an iconic moment in movie history 🔥
Followed by the perfect outro with Guardians Vol.3
We’ve scratched the surface with Endgame. After that, nothing was the same.
It got oversaturated
What a great tribute to THE GOAT of movies!!!❤🔥❤️
Great Hommage to Endgame 🙌
Imagine COVID happened a year earlier interrupting Endgames marketing and release.
They should stop trying to one up it. They won't. They need to let that be the end of the Avengers and move on to another group, other heroes, other stories. They had 4 massive movies with the Avengers, the BIGGEST movies of all time in fact, they need to let it go. Because the story can't continue. There's no BIGGER thing to go to next. You can never top it. Once you've scaled up to "snap your finger and half the universe dies", what's the next villain going to do??? You can't keep scaling up from that.
almost everyone got back…
Spiderman: No Way Home was a great movie to experience too imo
The reminder of how great the mcu used to be brought tears into my eyes 😢
very well written analysis and well presented. Thank you!
Nicely put together, great video Kim.
So happy to hear this spoken of as higher on the ladder than Infinity War, we needed to go there to get here. But this is the top.
Bum take
@@SmoothOperaturr Sheep take
We can absolutely see something even more ''fantastic'' in the future. Multiverse is a massive saga.
Just wait till Tobey and Hugh fight alongside each other in a future film. That will be massive.
😊 Yes sir, Right along with Deadpool Ryan Reynolds.
.
Marvel under bob iger is so desperate 😂😂
Massive for sales but most likely not quality, just like the last Spiderman wasn't anything special. The only reason it has such high praise is because of the cameos and as usual pulling on the Nostalgia strings. Why do you think they have (rely on) so many cameos in almost every movie now? Because their writing is non existent and they've hit their ceiling arguably with this movie.
@@TanThighsYumno way home literally fixed most ppls criticisms of MCU Spider Man. He lost everything and the movie set up a more street level college Spidey
Well done to everyone involved in creating this video
Never say never.
War, war never changes
17:26-17:38 And that’s the problem with the Hollywood machine. This SHOULD be the standard for these stories. The absolute best ones (Spidey 2, Logan, Dark Knight, etc.) all do this. It’s when you start pumping out products that have nothing to say, like the ant-man movies or recent Captain marvel, where you start losing the audience.
Great VIDEO!
“On your left” was a great moment but we ALL lost it in the theater when Cap summoned Mjolnir! 🔨
Awesome video!🎉
Lovely tribute
Great job!!!
5 years ago today ❤
The Dark Knight's better. 😃
What’s sad is that it literally didn’t have to be the last.
THANK YOU!
Outstanding story and analysis - couldn’t agree more 👍🔥
There were only 2 movie franchises in my lifetime that made me feel it was more than a movie lord of the rings and avengers end game. ❤
🎯The first three phases of Marvel is essentially one big Ironman story. That was great for the past but removing the one character you funneled everything through have been hard to replicate. Ironman is 100x greater in the movies than he is in the comics. That’s the problem, Ironman literally fixed everything???.
Kim Horcher ❤
This was nice.
Never say never... 👀
Absolute Cinema!
and theres no infinity war or end game without thanos....he also played a brilliant role in the avengers
Nice video 👌❤️
The sad part about this was that nobody checked on Thor after Infinity war for 5 years.
5 years! wow time flies.
AGREED
When Cap Picked Up The Hammer, It Was Over.
Heres hoping
If Dune movies keep getting made we will have something kool that feels just as fun and hype to watch.
There is something you don’t know about yet, you will know in the future 🙂
The book is a masterpiece and the 2 films by Villeneuve are instant classics. No disrespect to MCU, but that is another level.
James Gunn - "Hold my beer..."
If anyone else can, it's James Gunn. He brings hope.
Bravo!😢
1:10 - The Blip happened in Infinity War 2018. Everyone got bliped back 5 years later in 2023.
Multiversal assemble and Marvel vs/with DC could only top this up…

Well done, IGN. Well done.
a "you had to be there" kinda thing
why dont they just restart. take 10 years and build up to something again.
The title is correct lol😂
Don't think Marvel will ever capture that same spark that the Infinity Saga had.
Infinity war was def better
Why? Please don’t put infinity war on a pedastal
@@daniellewis4154 It was objectively a better story. It wasn't a clip show.

🎯The Dark Knight is a vigilante story not a superhero movie.
5 years from 2018 is 2023; It’s been 6 years now
we might get the chance to see another one with peter parker and miles morales in secret wars if they introduce him tho
The most reasonable way to surpass avenger endgame, is IMHO to do the DC elseworld treatment, which is Oneshoot movie, without any sequel or prequel build up (at least a standalone trilogy). More over Loki series already put paralel universe on the pedestal anyway
Avengers Endgame is peak but in my opinion, Avengers Infinity War just holds a higher Status. It´s like if you compared a F-35 against a F-22 Raptor. The F-35 is newer but the F-22 is just way more badass....
Not really. Infinity war and endgame were intended to be a two parter avengers film.
IMO, endgame is the best of the mcu
Well said!
The narrator is so beautiful ngl
Just wait till secret wars
Damn 5 years already
The only thing that could possibly top this...no Diddy...if done right...is AVENGERS VS X-MEN...don't 4get X-Men did this $hit before the official MCU took over 💯🎯
Best scene in movie history? Lol, you really don’t know what real culture really is, do you?
The Russo Brothers, along with Markus and McFeely, knew what they're doing. They are master craftsman when it comes to these films. The people Kevin Feige have running the show now don't. It really is that simple.
They need the beyonders to end the multiverse and start all over
And we shouldn’t
Kim you are an awesome host please more like this
Facts
There’s no reason for it to be another endgame cause we got SECRET WARS coming !
I'm not a Marvel basher like some, but one thing that made Endgame so visceral was a build up, not just in story arch, but in character development. Even if you weren't heavily invested, you wanted to know where these characters would end up. The MCU execs lost focus on that, saturating the genre with rushed stories for the sake of profit. It's no wonder the well has gone dry on genre enthusiasm.
the genre was saturated even before.
And that's ok.
