I’m not a fan of any man 1 or 2 but they still were connected to the infinity saga and continued the plot of the saga. • Madame Web received negative reviews from critics,[93][94] who panned it as an "embarrassing mess"[95][96][97] and the "worst comic book movie" yet.[98] On the review aggregator website Rotten Tomatoes, 13% of 211 critics' reviews are positive, with an average rating of 3.4/10. The website's consensus reads: "Madame Web's earnest approach to the title character's origin story has a certain appeal, but its predictable plot and uneven execution make for a forgettable superhero adventure."[99] The review aggregator Rotten Tomatoes reported an approval rating of 62% with an average score of 5.9/10, based on 350 reviews. The website's critical consensus reads, "Funny, refreshingly brief, and elevated by the chemistry of its three leads, The Marvels is easy to enjoy in the moment despite its cluttered story and jumbled tonal shifts."[135] Closest to Daredevil film- Ant-Man and The Wasp :Quantumania- The review aggregator website Rotten Tomatoes reported an approval rating of 46% with an average rating of 5.5/10, based on 410 reviews. The site's critics consensus reads: "Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania mostly lacks the spark of fun that elevated earlier adventures, but Jonathan Majors' Kang is a thrilling villain poised to alter the course of the MCU." Closest to Inhumans- Secret Invasion- The review aggregator website Rotten Tomatoes reported an approval rating of 53%, with an average score of 6.1/10, based on 197 reviews. The site's critic's consensus states: "A well-deserved showcase for Samuel L. Jackson, Secret Invasion steadies itself after a somewhat slow start by taking the MCU in a darker, more mature direction." The Marvel Razzies-1-Morbius-On Rotten Tomatoes, the film has an approval rating of 15% based on 283 reviews, with an average rating of 3.8/10. The website's critics consensus reads, "Cursed with uninspired effects, rote performances, and a borderline nonsensical story, this dreary mess is a vein [sic] attempt to make Morbius happen."[112] It ranks as the 16th worst-reviewed superhero movie on the site. 2-Daredevil film-On review aggregation website Rotten Tomatoes 43% of critics gave the film positive feedback, based on 228 reviews, with an average rating of 5.2/10. The critical consensus reads, "While Ben Affleck fits the role and the story is sporadically interesting, Daredevil is ultimately a dull, brooding origin story that fails to bring anything new to the genre." 3-Howard The Duck-Howard the Duck received mainly negative reviews from critics. On Rotten Tomatoes, the film has an approval rating of 13%, based on 83 reviews, with an average rating of 3.8/10, making it the lowest-rated Lucasfilm production. The site's consensus states: "While it has its moments, Howard the Duck suffers from an uneven tone and mediocre performances." Worst of Marvel-Fant4stic-On the review aggregator website Rotten Tomatoes, 9% of 263 critics' reviews are positive, with an average rating of 3.6/10. The website's consensus reads: "Dull and downbeat, this Fantastic Four proves a woefully misguided attempt to translate a classic comic series without the humor, joy, or colorful thrills that made it great."[1] As of 2023, it the lowest-rated film on Rotten Tomatoes out of all theatrical films based on Marvel Comics properties. The WORST of MCU-Inhumans-The review aggregator website Rotten Tomatoes reported an 11% approval rating, with an average rating of 3.70/10 based on 47 reviews. The website's consensus states, "Marvel's Inhumans sets a new low standard for the MCU with an unimaginative narrative, dull design work, weak characters, and disengaging soapy melodrama."Reviewing the season, Matt Liparota of Destructoid concluded, "Inhumans is a work with almost nothing of value for anyone. It's not even an interesting train wreck. It's just a boring, lifeless slog easily shooting to the top of the list of the worst things the MCU has produced in its near-decade of existence." The DC Razzies- Catwoman-On Rotten Tomatoes, the film has an approval rating of 8% based on 197 reviews, with an average rating of 3.2/10. The site's critical consensus reads: "Halle Berry is the lone bright spot, but even she can't save this laughable action thriller". BvS-On review aggregator website Rotten Tomatoes the film has an approval rating of 29% based on 439 reviews and an average rating of 5/10. The website's critical consensus reads: "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice smothers a potentially powerful story - and some of America's most iconic superheroes - in a grim whirlwind of effects-driven action."

  • The MCU is ironically facing a similar problem that most comic universes face, the difficulties of trying to tell a story with no ending. It's already difficult to constantly find ways to keep plot going indefinitely, but when you have to actual actors who can age, get arrested, and quit, it becomes that much harder to keep things going.

    • Yeah but their issue is they were willing to dilute the product for a quick cash grab which is now costing them billions...Any well established beloved brand can double their output while the market is hot by making a diluted product and for the short term basically double their cash flow revenue but then they destroy the brand and it goes from beloved to completely ignored and now the stocks tank...its a punp and dump ideology and it wouldn't be surprising if someone at Disney werent positioned to sell shorts immediately after this oversaturation coupled with brand dilution occured across the board at Disney. With kids moves and even books it can work But not as much so with a cinematic universe

Well, too bad because it already happened off-screen as explained in a quick line of dialogue in MoM. Want to see Strange and Wong as well as the Illuminati be badass in perfect moments of fanservice? You could see the destination of the journey, while still enjoying every single story. Now we basically have every possible character on screen and it all feels oversaturated without a proper direction besides maybe nostalgia and fan service.

    • Taking a break and rebooting wasn't the move, but giving us a break of action was. Making the projects smaller and more intimate rather than big wars or abstract concepts that can threaten the whole planet. We can have new characters like Shang-Chi and Riri Williams and stuff, but have it earnestly telling the story of the world without The Avengers. There are tons of other prominent characters and stories they could have built up to. Secret Invasion could have been an amazing event, rather than a lackluster spy story. The whole big bads of the next 10 years could have been the Masters of Evil! Or Zodiac! The Avengers have a whole bunch of other villains to explore that are FAR more interesting and less convoluted than Kang! This era could have been our Dark Reign! But nope. Not them.

      @jerfuhrer2581@jerfuhrer258124 күн бұрын
  • I’ve thought about this and I think one of the biggest issues with today’s MCU is that the MCU stopped making every movie experience an event. They used to make going to the movies more than JUST going to the movies. It was an event and experience that was best shared with the people around you. These days, not so much.

    @Prospective_of_Jay@Prospective_of_JayАй бұрын
    • This! The experience was so good that you'd have rows of people crying at the same time when a 14 year old Peter Parker turned to dust, or when Tony's Arch Reactor went out. Also films like Ragnarok, seeing Thor lose everything was heavy. And the Winter Soldier was just bad ass. These last entries feel dismissable. The experience is definitely not the same.

  • The failure of Kang really killed me; not only the character being scrapped all together, making most of Loki the series kind of pointless, but just the fact that while Kang was around he was simply no threat at all. He was killed by some ants and then there was a whole montage of him dying over and over again like they were humiliating him. Also, people can disagree with this video all they like, the fact of the matter is most of the recent MCU is shit. The numbers are there, the revenue is recorded, statistically speaking its all an utter failure. Like Star Wars. Like Ghostbusters. Like Halo. Like The Rings of Power, and even with most recent games.

Ant-Man is a joke, but what happens when you have infinite Ant-Man's? Or Infinite Spider-Man? Or Infinite Iron Man's? That's a serious threat. You either fight Kang "For all time, always", or lose to Kang. As for the last sentence, bad/low statistics isn't a clear sign that it sucks. That's not how opinion works.

  • Endgame was the peak imo and Tony’s sacrifice felt like the tipping point, because after he died, the MCU went downhill. Hopefully marvel can get back up with something like Deadpool 3, but given the results of a lot of the new movies, I’d keep my expectations low, because like MJ said in NWH, “expect disappointment and you’d never actually be disappointed”. They have no central hero to replace Iron Man as the new face of the MCU, and they have no clear villain, as Kang’s actor got fired and avengers: the Kang dynasty is now Avengers 5, proving that they are sidelining or pivoting away from him. They never built up to him clearly at all. It took 10 years to build up to Thanos.

We lost the main cast and got a new Black Widow, a new Hawkeye, new Cap America and briefly introduced Riri Williams and a new Black Panther (which does not count because of circumstance). They should have paused and waited until they got X men and F4 to give it some variety. Instead they tried to cover for their absence immediatly as if audiences could not live a single Phase without seeing them.

Now, some of these shows were written or produced by people who never read a comic or never even heard of the character. If you don’t care about the character or do the research for quality content then the end result will fail. That’s what we have now. Marvel’s Agents of Shield was absolutely brilliant.
