The Samsung G50A has impressed me more than I though it would and is by far my favorite G5 monitor to date. Now it is a little more expensive but the extra 120-170 dollars here but the vibrant colors, fast response time, and adjustable stand make this well worth it. It doesn't have a 1000R curve like the other G5 monitors but it's a far superior monitor in all of its specs even if it doesn't have the curve. Hopefully the make a 32 inch model and one with a curve down the road. I think the bigger thing to consider here is whether spending an extra 100-150 more than the G50A base price is worth it to get the G7 which I personally was a little bit disappointed by because of its flickering issue. Now I have heard this has mostly been resolved via firmware updates to the monitor but I've also heard some people are still having the issue so that's something to consider also.

just picked mine up yesterday. BestBuy has these for $250 (WICKED Black Friday sale) and this is one of the best monitors i have owned and the rtx 3080 pairs so nicely with this

This and the HP Omen 27i is on sale for the same price. Dell S2721DGF for $269. Wonder which one is better quality? I really don't want to get stuck pixels. HP does not have HDR though.

Thinking about picking 2 of these up for my setup. Be using a RTX 3080 and i7. Mostly just play Rust and Twitch/KZheadr. thinking these would be a perfect fit and seem to be a bit better option vs other more expensive 27" 1440 144hz monitors. It's $279 right now at Best Buy. Seems like a good deal.

Thanks for making this video. I'm still figuring out which type of panel I'm going for. There are so many monitors out there, and it's either the G50A, the Samsung Odyssey G7, or the Iiyama G-Master Red Eagle (GB2770QSU). The QLED technology in the G7 looks very appealing to me, but the price tag isn't as good as for example the Iiyama. I'm currently using an Iiyama G-Master Red Eagle (GB2788HS-B1). Btw what software are you using for the wallpaper at 8:14? Looks like Wallpaper Engine from Steam. That image looks great

One of the best 1440p ones there is at this point, also for competitive and it even accepts 4k 60hz signal, heavily underlooked monitor, of the best there is to get now. And finally a non curve Samsung. And the PQ is very good, sharp and clear. My new favourite.

HDR 10 is enabled when you set your refresh rate to 120 hz and i believe 1.1DP

@@adaytoledo6703 Up to you in the end. I went with the Samsung Odyssey G50A because I needed to replace my 7.5 year old 1080p monitor I had. The G50A is gonna be used as a second monitor with my already owned Aorus FI27Q (my main display), so I needed a good 1440p monitor that was relatively cheap (or at least a very good deal)
I just picked it up and I can’t find the sweet spot for the brightness and find the comfort spot for my eyes just yet

Bought the monitor last week and unfortunately had to send it back. Mine unfortunately had severe backlight bleeding and black spots/shadows in the middle of the right and left thirds of the monitor. It was inside the panel so there was nothing I could do about it. I wasn't that impressed with the quality Samsung provides here. I may have just gotten the Monday model.
I love this monitor. I got it on sale for $250 though. I wouldnt pay $400 for it though. You can do better at $400 but it's constantly on sale for $250-300.
Does the sRGB mode clamp the actual color gamut of the monitor?
I encountered one bug when the image on the monitor was blurry for some reason and pixels were visible on the windows taskbar icons. I solved this problem by adjusting the monitor settings: Menu - Support - Reset All. ✅
How do you move it up and down? Mine seems to be locked at the top.

Yea mine came. Coming from VA panel I do see IPS glow on left lower corner. The ports are disappointing and the plastic feels a little cheap.
I just got this monitor 3 days ago. Only thing bothering me is the color accuracy and lack of real HDR. Color needs calibration. HDRJust turns up the whites brightness a little too much but other than that its looks really nice and i got it for $350 on Amazon right now. Its really good for console if you ask me. Has 4k 60 (upscaled) & 1440p/1080p 120hz. I still need to play around with it more to see what is the best settings to have for it.
I get my G5A next day, can you change the screen adjustment? On my old G5 that was not available

@@llllllllllll1635 it upscales to 4k it’s not native. And I have found it increases input lag in general and more on console. So if you play single player games it’s decent but if you play competitive I don’t recommend it

I actually found the HDR to look fantastic! _BUT_ this is also the first time I've had a monitor capable of it, so I don't have a comparison. My personal biggest gripe is that it needs a physical way to center the rotation. I always feel like it's slightly rotated to one side or the other.
Anyone noticed any problems with this monitor? Considering this or the MSI G273QF as they are the same price here.

I think so but that’ll also be a personal preference thing. Eco mode would be easiest way to use it for a dim brightness level

Game mode? Not quite sure what you mean by that For response times I just prefer standard because overdrive creates inverse ghosting with most monitors
Got it - have an annoying problem and its the VESA mount - it says it fits the 100X100 but the square inside is too small for 100X100 universal mounts
That sounds like it’s because it’ll mount to the outside and you’ll need rubber risers for it

I may be a little late here, but the reason you're not getting 10-bit color is because the DP ports are limited to DP 1.2, so max 120hz. If you drop the refresh down, you can then adjust up to 10-bit color. It's a bit deceptive in the marketing to make all the claims they do, since you cannot achieve them all at once, but they are all "achievable" from a certain point of view. lol

Hey, can you change the brightness via the standard windows 10 controls? So does it have DDC/CI support? And if so does it work via Display Port, HDMI or both?
DDC/CI appears to work on mine (can set brightness via 0x10)

Slightly different specs on those two monitors and I haven’t tried the gigabyte but based off specs along I’d go with the Samsung by a slight margin.

G50A. Panel type is going to produce better colors. The dell is more comparable to the regular Samsung g5

That’s not true, depends on your gpu and settings. Older hardware and that settings are more likely to cause it but I d had zero teearing. I have a rtx 3070 and i7 12700k though

@@amalgam9635 I didnt buy I ended up getting a different 165hz monitor. Not a fan of ips without fald thus most budget ips have low contrast and looks washed out. I mean yea it’s ips but the contrast is low so it’s not a great of a image

I believe this is only hdmi 2.0 so you should be able to do that if you don’t upscale to 4k but I can’t remember if Xbox allows hdr 120hz at 1440p or not
i had a old aoc monitor 60hz 1080p and i feel like text looked better on that, when i look at text on like youtube or things like that i cant help but feel like its a little fuzzy, is there something i can do to fix that?
Run clear type, adjust sharpness on the screen, and set the nvidia control panel graphic global setting to improve visuals over performance

I waited a full week to get it delivered only to pull it out the box and was clearly sent a CURVED monitor. Did they send the wrong monitor or are all G50A IPS panels CURVED...?
