Never thought I’d say a two time defending National champ got out worked…But boy did he ever…With that being said, you’ll never ever ever ever find a classier and more respectful rivalry than these two. These two are the best wrestling role models you could possibly ask for.
I don’t know, when otoole won last year his celebration consisted of hugging the guy, not flexing and running around.

@@TravisRagland-ye3ge Not acting like anything. I said He got out worked, I didn’t say he got out wrestled. In the semis I think Carr out wrestled AND out worked O’Toole. I guess I should have worded it differently because I was by no means “acting” like Carr isn’t an absolute stud. Hell, he beat two of the best wrestlers in the entire country in any weight class on back to back nights.
That was the finals match it just happened to be in the semis.
Could watch these guys go at it a dozen times straight.
We need Chael,Askren and DC to do commentary for the next NCAA finals.

wow Carr really battled thru this match. The way he avoided the takedown and kept hopping timing it perfectly was what really narrowed the gap of momentum. He really fights on defense to avoid takedowns probably some of the craziest defense I've seen. Great match.

The amount of class and respect I've seen in this tournament (this comment coming a day after the finals ended) from everybody involved there in every single clip or interview that I’ve watched has been incredible. Nothing like it in any other major sport. Absolutely refreshing to see in this day and age. Well done
DC is not even calling these matches. He makes one or two comments and then he’s off with his stories. And he’s such a flip flopper. Even JB made fun of for it. Hopefully there’s a UFC fight tomorrow so he can’t ruin the finals for me….

I knew carr was gonna get him he played around last year and got beat then this year Keegan just flat out won but I knew he was gonna get him

I did NOT think O'Toole could be beat. I was rooting for Carr(not really for any good reason, just was)...but man, he was outstanding. That last TD...incredible. O'Toole jumped a level this year...and Carr matched it!
Carr has beaten O’toole multiple times. O’toole won the finals 2 years in a row. Carr has beaten O’toole in the regular season and in the Big 12 Championships before.
@llman03 Yeah, I understand. And O'Toole looked quite a bit better this year. He was bigger(probably too big) and he totally shut Carr down in the B12s. Carr couldn't even get into those scrambles, O'Toole was just too hard to score on. But, he gassed and Carr had enough left. I only wish Messenbrink knew he was down 1 in the finals. Those last 30 would have been really interesting. But.. that's beside the point.

He didn't get lucky he was just better that day and outlasted him

What an incredibly balanced attack style. O'Toole's corner did him no favor when they challenged in the first, keegan had Carr gassed from getting out of a badly attempted attack. It may have made a difference, but Carr's attack may have just been better that night. Great match, hell of a win for the deserving champion!
