    @balkamp8888@balkamp88885 жыл бұрын
    • Which is insane given that although Thor doesn't have the technique, grip strength is a staple of Strongman... I do think after learning a few tricks, Thor could win via sheer strength.

      @AlexisRoucourt@AlexisRoucourt5 жыл бұрын
    • @@AlexisRoucourt - Grip isn't really used in armwrestling is the problem. The problem is that Thor doesn't have a golf ball in his arm lol. :P But with technique, he would already be relatively damn good. But yea he would need to gain strength in this rather specific way.

      @Siberius-@Siberius-5 жыл бұрын
    • @Chris Bruchak - Nah it's very specific strength. Just being big and strong in general, does not mean you will be overly strong in every strange movement. An armwrestler who knows what he is doing and has trained a long time in armwrestling, will generally beat an armwrestler who is much bigger than him, also with good technique, but hasn't been training for nearly as long, so he doesn't yet have strength/ability in the specific way that you need for armwrestling. Or to put it another over-simplistic and silly way: Thor doesn't have golf balls in his arms lol. Among many other things that aren't so visual.

      @Siberius-@Siberius-5 жыл бұрын
    • @Chris Bruchak - Thor is fucking huge and insane.. obviously with decent ish technique, he's going to wipe the floor with anyone who isn't quite bloody good.. strength to that extent.. can just make it so as the gap can't be closed, even against someone who is a truly awesome armwrestler. I wasn't aware that we were factoring in people who aren't top level... I don't know why we would be... Thor with quite good technique, basic tactics, and his raw strength.. will get him very far of course. But he still needs to train to get that specific strength.. because you're only as strong as your weakest point, and right now, he's not very strong as far as certain movements in armwrestling. He can be toyed with right now. So that would need time to come up. For top level armwrestling, that is. I think we're essentially on the same page here.

  • Rewatching old videos and it becomes apparent that the coolest thing about this channel isn’t the absurd strength, but rather the fact that Tom & Juji get people on their channel who are so passionate about what they do that they care less about demonstrating their abilities and more about teaching. Devon is a great example. Dude is a world class arm wrestler and he cares more about showing people who have never arm wrestled techniques to be successful than showing off his power. It’s always fun to listen to people talk about stuff they love.

  • Keeping your body as close as possible to the wall puts the weight on your feet instead of your arms and makes it much easier. You can see Devon is leaning back - which is completely natural - but it makes it more difficult

    • IS YT A lot of beginner climbers don’t seem to trust their feet, especially if they haven’t been taught proper footwork technique. Climbers like Juji and Devon, who have long, really strong arms, are prone to overcompensation via pulling. It’s interesting-beginners generally climb with bent arms, but because Juji and Devon have greater hand/forearm strength than most beginners, they tend to climb with straighter arms. They just need to balance out by keeping tension through the legs/feet.

    • They also need to step with their toes and not the sides of their feet. Makes moving around so much easier.
