    • Juji said in one of his videos that if you want to be successful you need to be in top 1-5% in your field for people to notice you. But if you are in top 20% in 3 or more fields, then you are something unique. He is flexible, powerlifter, armwrestler, and can do backflips and other tricks.

    • Juji is like the center of a Venn Diagram. His powerlifting numbers aren't record breaking, but they're certainly higher than I've seen in my gym. At the same time, he has the athleticism to do tricking with the flexibility of a yoga person. His one weakness is ball sports lol

    • Usually the guys who are mean and treat people badly are insecure. True alpha males are the sheepdogs that take care of their pack and those around them. They have nothing to prove, and show their strength through their actions, not acting like they are someone when they are not. Just have to take one look at Brian Shaw that guy is one of the strongest men ever to walk the earth and one of the nicest.

    • There is a Swedish strongman (actually has a silver in World's strongest man) called Magnus Samuelsson. Incredible guy and soo humble in talkshows, interviews and other TV-shows. He also went on the Swedish version of "Dancing with the Stars" which he and his partner won.

    • He's a V13 boulderer. The hardest in this gym is around V9/V10 range. Grade growth isn't linear: it might not be as fast as exponential but the gap between grades increases as grade level increases. So the hardest stuff in this gym is well below his max.

  • This really is a demonstration of how STRONG Magnus is. He glides up walls up the walls through the complications with such grace. Devon did amazing for his size. His courage and determination are great tools. And Juji is just pure athleticism. He is such a specimen. Great men all together!

    • You can see when Magnus is on the wall his muscles are nothing like what you see in any gym, there are so numerous, thin but long, intertwined, varied and dense, you see muscle you don't even know exist versus the inflatable muscles that you can count on one hand on typical 'look at me' gym buffs.

    • @@BoBo-pl3ww body fat is a false topic here, you get the muscle you use, body fat is only a cover it won't change the muscle definition. And wrong, to have such richly varied lean and long muscle has nothing to do with calorie burning but how varied the exercises are. No gym lifting machine can touch real practical sports like climbing. It only builds muscles that can be counted on a one hand instead of building a multitude.

    • For Devon it's more of accumulated injuries. Bone spurs get in the way of his elbow joint straightening. Not because of tight or over developed musculature or ligature.

  • Ive always seen clips of Larrat and he seems like a great guy, but in doing some research, holy crap what an interesting dude. Awesome to see that he's Canadian like me, but not only that, this dude served for the armed forces in *JTF-2* , which is easily the most badass group in the Canadian armed forces by a long shot (the type of group where active members don't show their faces or reveal their names if interviewed, should be a sign they mean business). Incredible respect to this beast of a man.

    • Which is why I think climbing might be the best way to grow your muscles.. I've only gone to the gym and I wouldn't last an hour climbing. I think you get so versitile in your movement and your muscles can do so much more than if you'd only lift weights.. I'll have to give this stuff a try!

    • @@jsbfkdls Go for it mate, I'm doing both and it's awesome. Personally, I can't climb more than 2 times a week because your fingers take pretty much damage due to the friction on the holds, so combining the gym with rock climbing is awesome. It's such a social sport too.

    • From observation rather than experience I think size and build makes a huge difference as well. Like Juju is crazy strong , but bulky so he has more to lift and a definite low center of gravity. Climbing needs really strong abs as well as limberness and hand, finger, arm, and shoulder strength. (yeah, I am way too analytical). Climbing uses all your muscle groups at the same time. I think you really see the core or ab strength going into effect in climbing is when you see Magnus practically hanging like a bat yet his stomach is still close to the wall. I'm afraid of heights so I will never test this theory, but the whole process fascinates me.

  • its honestly crazy how much mobility juji has when doing stuff like this. he hasso much mass, yet moves so smooth and gracefully, alot of people dont appreciate how hard it is to do everything as well as he does. i've been 6'2" sincemy sophmore year of highschool, and let me tell you getting used to the height alone took a while. i would constantly trip, not be able to cut tight turns, not be able to control my power when it came to shooting a basketball or taking a swing in tennis or volleyball. after a year or so i balanced out pretty well, but honestly im not even half johns size in terms of strength and height to weight ratio, and i couldnt imagine getting my body to move half as gracefully as his does.

  • I'm 6'3", 195lbs and a former gymnast and I don't think I'd be able to do most of those climbs at age 36. I've only tried gym bouldering once but I was surprised by how difficult it is. Size is a liability up on the wall and seeing this huge dude doing so well at age 44 is impressive.

    • It's a huge advantage 99% of the time. Only in very, very peculiar circumstances is size a disadvantage in climbing (if it helps to be wedged in a narrow space between hands and legs).

    • I go to the gym 4x a week and the fact that I cann do pull ups is a major advantage. When I couldn't climb the propper way I finished the routes with arms only but that way you don't learn how to climb properly. It's funny though that I'm 185cm tall and 80 kgs but I'm the 'fattest guy' in the climbing room while I'm one of the skinniest in the gym.

Cmon bro, unless you are an asian, "decent height" starts at 6'1, optimal si 6'2-6'3, anything over 6'3 is not very aesthetic (usually tall guys have round back, narrow shoulders, thick waist, and either too long legs or too long torso. Devon is buff enough to look good at 6'5, but he is like lean 260 pounds, which is quite ridiculous. For fitness modeling you want to be 6'2.
