This bus is a piece of history. Converted to this executive coach style by Custom Coach Corporation in the 70’s straight from the MCI factory. Detroit diesel 8v71 powered bus.

makes me sad Mr. Lance has to sell all these busses, he seemed so happy to run them, I hope they sell well for him
I think he will do a video about the business in the future. Hopefully selling a few of these buses though will help him out. He loves them so much that is for sure.
I really hope so, I've never met him but from what I've seen of him here, just seems like a nice guy. this is one of my favorites of his busses too, @@BusGreaseMonkey
@@BusGreaseMonkey why is he having to sell them?
Stunningly beautiful and in absolute pristine condition.
What an absolutely gorgeous coach!! For the quality of the thing, the price is (to me) downright reasonable! Man oh man... I hope these beautiful machines find good homes!
Finding another bus in this pampered pristine condition is probably impossible. Certainly not one with all the maintenance caught up on.
Отличный, Красивый автобус! 78 года хорошо сохранился! Классное получилось видео! Мне понравилось! Круто Круто!!!👍👍👍
The MC8 has always been one of my favorites, a true super star of the highways, absolutely beautifully built. The interior on this one is nice too...
I wish I could afford one of those coaches Lance is selling. I used to drive part time for Peter Pan and another company that did charters and tours. Back then, both companies had MC 8s and 9s, and I can attest to the fact that those busses were " made of iron". They would last foe millions of miles. At 281,000 miles, the bus in this video is barely broken in. I gotta go buy a lottery ticket.
I was lucky enough to tour the Custom Coaches facility in the Early 80's amazing place. Amazing work!
So cool. Great history thanks for preserving and sharing you guys rock.
It's sad that Lance has to lose all these buses. I think other people have said it but I can tell he really enjoyed owning them. I hope he gets to hang on to one for himself.
Wish I had the space and means to own one.
Been thinking of moving up to a stainless bus. Currently have a 96 Fleetwood American Dream 40'. Its a nice bus, but . . . I know the value of these things as long as paper trail is there and this has got it all. Do the PM's and this will be around another 45 yrs.
I had a 1967 Custom Coach mci5A! My family traveled all over the Midwest in it. It was originally built for Budweiser
Another beautiful coach Lance and yes be nice if it was able to stay this way forever, thanks so much for showing bro. Safe travels. Ken.
I could only wish for something as nice as that OMG
Drove one back when they came out! Nice bus.
Beautiful bus.
Oh this has to get snatched up fast. You see used RVs and buses that are 50 60 70 even $90,000. This one is less than all of that. What a fantastic price for such a beautiful bus.
I doubt there are any other mc8’s this nice and this low of mileage around. Except maybe the one sitting right next to it…. LOL ;)
Interesting how it has the modified square headlights up front, but still has the regular factory tailights.
Since we mostly use our RV to travel to relatives' homes, even for trips less than 100 miles, it would be perfect for us. I just don't have enough income being retired and all. Nice coach.
1:08 Nice bus.. kept clean. not like a lot I see here. Beautiful! And VERY reasonably priced!
Wow priced right can't believe it's still available
Hey Lance! Sorry you couldn't keep them going :(
keep the clips coming
Such a shame Lance is having to hang up his bus keys - I hope everything works out well for him in the future.
Nice
A time capsule
Lance should restructure the business and try again
I wish there was a way. Maybe someone who watches our channel could invest some money to make that happen.
Sorry to see him have to sell off his buses. I always thought he had too many buses concentrated in one market. I could see this work if in more markets throughout the USA. If I lived in NAPA Valley, I would buy one of his buses. To me these are sight-seeing buses. Have one at each of the popular National Park. Not corporate/event buses. I think of them as a scenic train ride on wheels.
👍👍👍👍
Just a shame that a true bus enthusiast has to give up these buses. Having said that, I'd think that the "executive" style coach might be a little harder to move compared to a straight RV style. I think the price is more than reasonable given the provenance and the recent care that the bus has been given. Best of luck with it.
Where is Big Mac today?
Can you imagine a mechanic's lean for a bus?
A lien for what? Work being done or storage or what? We have never had to do a lien ever for any customers. Knock on wood 🪵
$45k
$193k in 1978 is equivalent to $913k today. And the shell for $89k is equivalent to $421k today. So that bus cost in total after conversion $1,334,000 in today's dollars!!!!😮
How many wendys hamburgers today vs 1978?
A single was $.99 vs today $5.49
@@BusGreaseMonkey at that point in the video wasn't he talking about the McDonald's bus? I was thinking that was the folder for the bus Rack Krock gave to the Big Mac inventor....he only was going I to it cause it took was an MCI Custom Coach. But yes I assume there was way more back then. Being only 42 I do recall as a kid seeing way more Wendy's commercials especially with Dave in them. Of course Dave if still alive (I was thinking I remember seeing he died??) He would be past commercial making age!! But yes all those fast food restaurants have passed their hey day, some more than others.
ah, sad it looks like luckydog is selling of their inventory
Why is he selling them.
He shut his business down and needs to pay off some debt
@@BusGreaseMonkey cheers Scott , oh that's sad after all he has put into them. Regards to you & the family.
I am going to have to disagree with his opinion of the H3-45 as mine rides like a Rolls Royce I don’t know what he’s talking about. Any coach can ride bad if the chassis is wore out or bad tires.
I was referring to a seated charter - it was 1/2 full and was relatively new. I’m sure a conversion rides much different with a decent loading of the suspension.
