Rebuilding The Great Wall Of Château de Lalacelle. Ep 46
Bonjour à tous,
This week at the château, work starts on rebuilding the walled garden wall. With So many wonderful people coming together the first part of the wall has begun with the concrete foundations.
Due to the shear size of the wall and the weight It will carry, the family have to create a huge strong footing, plus struggle get some of the materials in the original château gates, But with the sun shining and the foundations in it’s a good day for the family.
Plus, the family get a visit from john, and show some of the beautiful items he has donated to the château while clearing hes loft.

About us,
We are a family from the North-East of England following our dream to restore a beautiful abandoned french Château. We discovered the heart stopping Château De Lalacelle in summer of 2020, this beautiful architectural monument Is set in the countryside of North-West France.
The moment we visited the Château we all fell in love, from the beautiful sweeping landscape and forests, to its stunning untouched interiors and magnificent spiral staircase in the turret.
Unfortunately Château De Lalacelle has been abandoned for a number of decades so will need a lot of restoration and DIY.

Jonathan is a hoot. So lovely to see him enjoying helping build the wall. In years to come he will be able to say that he did his part in that build. How very kind John is. Jonathan looked so adorable with his little shovel of wheel barrel. He was working hard, he probably went straight to sleep at bedtime that night 😄

Little Johnathan isn't quite so Little anymore. Cannot believe how much he has grown in just a year. And great experience for him to jump in and learn and help.
I can't wait to see what Terry has planned for the front facade. I've been trying to imagine what it's going to look like when the stairs and iron work are refurbished.

Hi there👋🏻. I’m just so impressed to see you guys push your grief and feelings of tragedy aside and step up to the wall and rebuild it. You all are amazing people and I am so impressed. I understand that you all are so tired and under stress everyday, that when the wall fell , it must of felt like an overwhelming feeling washing over you. Hugs. Good to hear you are getting plant starts from your friend John. Do be aware that you have to coddle hydrangeas for the first year - don't forget to water often and a lot!

The famous Lalacelle smiles are back, three sets of hands make such a difference but it is still hard work. A big shout out to your friends who are helping with the project. It's really incredible how quickly things are happening now. This time I spend with you all is so enjoyable - I remember when I could work hard and get that wonderful feeling of accomplishment of 'job done'. And then at the end of a few days to look back and think "I did that" - there's nothing quite like it! Sending reiki to help ease those sore muscles and tired limbs as a thankyou for the pleasure I get from watching you rejuvenate your Old Lady.
@@derekbriggs6207 I send the reiki to you all at the same time - not quite sure how it works; I only know it does. It can also make you thirsty as often your kidneys kick in and flush out toxins. So drink more water than usual. And grow some comfrey and cook it in oil, rub that on the sore spots. A grandmothers recipe but very effective.
Sorry but I used to subscribe until the gofund me exceeded the bill for the wall by 2. You are going down the same road as Stephanie at CD. Don't buy a property that you can't maintain.

OMG! You're nearly to 30k subscribers. How exciting! Great progress on the wall this week. It's so great to see Jonathan pitching in to help. He seems so cheerful doing it too. John has been so generous in his support of your cause. The mirror is so lovely, perfect for the chateau. There's so many places in your home for candelabras and those beautiful prints, finding a place for them won't be a problem. Now you need some museum frames, matting and glass. That table cloth is stunning too. Hydrangeas will definitely brighten up the garden. I'm anxious to see what kind/s he has. There are so many sizes and colors to choose from. I love the everblooming macrophylla varieties in every color. I also like the paniculatas like Peegee. They're all beautiful. Continued success and happiness to you all! À bientôt mes amis.

Happy to see you get back into the groove! Also nice seeing Jonathan really helping. Manual labour can be difficult and boring when you're seven, so I don't blame him at all for doing 5 minutes work and then giving up to go do something else, but to see him actually joining in is great!

Another brilliant video. There's a huge difference in the height of the ground either side of the wall!! You're building it with modern techniques so it's going to be there for years now ☺️ That's an awful lot of concrete to mix by hand!! Good idea to mix up the jobs.
