Saving The Lake, Planting Trees & Starting Work On The fosse Septic System For The Château. Ep45
Bonjour à tous,
This week at the chateau, the family start work on Installing the fosse septic system, but first decide to clear the lake from some of the years of neglect with falling trees.
Tony manages to save some of the trees and replants them along the road to create a barrier, and the big dig starts for the fosse septic.

About us,
We are a family from the North-East of England following our dream to restore a beautiful abandoned french Château. We discovered the heart stopping Château De Lalacelle in summer of 2020, this beautiful architectural monument Is set in the countryside of North-West France.
The moment we visited the Château we all fell in love, from the beautiful sweeping landscape and forests, to its stunning untouched interiors and magnificent spiral staircase in the turret.
Unfortunately Château De Lalacelle has been abandoned for a number of decades so will need a lot of restoration and DIY.
Please subscribe and follow our families journey, with the up’s and down’s in moving from the UK to rural France and restoring this beautiful building to its former glory.

I love that little dachshund. He looks like he's saying, "Oh! We're digging? Ok! Let me help!"
I watch many ylogs Chateau related. Stephanie, Chateau life, Chateau Love, Everyone of the Pethericks channels, Manor and Maker.... What I love about your channel and family is that you're real and down to earth. You are a blended family. I can relate to raising a grandson. Raised mine from infancy. He is 21 and a hard worker. Always thinking of ways to help me. My dream is someday to visit some of you. I would travel with both grandsons who are construction workers. That is but a dream. Tracey, I have so much admiration and respect for you. Such a hard worker
Hello Anne, thank you so much, it would be wonderful if you could visit sometime, you are more than welcome 🙏🥰🥰
I love and value all the chateau owners because they all love their building and all of them have a passion to leave something of beauty behind. The sharing of their magnificent buildings is an absolute treat.
I totally agree with you. Love this hardworking family
I watch all those and others, Château de Purnon because they are Australian, Château de la Ferté they are doing an amazing job, heaps more. Living vicariously through the châteaux owners.
Hi there! I'm very happy to see you are repurposing the trees. They will provide beauty, noise reduction, and filter the air from the road. Great job to you all. Thankyou for the video.❤
I loved when Patrick helped Tony dig!
So cute watching Patrick helping Tony digging the holes, LOL...😁💓
How exciting to see the lake being cleaned out! It’s wonderful that your septic system is going in. Love that Tony saved some of the saplings. So happy you have received such support. This channel has been like a dream for me, so fun to watch, and be inspired by you. Thank you for sharing!~Dana
If there is any digging to do, Patrick is always there and with a smile on his face. Even Jonathan seemed to be having a good time. You are the hardest working five people I have ever seen.
I love little Patrick!
Wow! The difference that first tree being pulled from the lake made is rather eye opening, and that was just the first of the episodes projects. Nice effort on the sapling placement, Tony. Give it 5 years and those saplings will begin to make a difference. On a slight tangent, everyone's camerawork and editing has come on in leaps and bounds from your first episodes.
What a difference cleaning out the lake has made, a job that would have been impossible to do by hand. Love the idea of replanting the trees and recycling the sand on the the road. I have no idea how you get so much hard work done but having the whole family chip is a blessing. You truly are my favourite Chateau family 💗
Watching Patrick contributing his two paws’ worth of effort in Grounds Restoration was absolutely priceless! And here I thought nothing could top the chickens pecking up the unearthed insects during the cleanup of the wood storage area....
I just know your place is going to be so beautiful I am 66 now and just retired I just hope i am still alive to see it all finished and maybe stay a weekend with you lovely folk xxxx
We’d love to have you here Jo! Wont be long!
Your family is A-MAZ-ING! Digging a hole for the septic, fixing the wall, working on the road, clearing the lake, re-planting the saplings - did I forget anything? All in one week - incredible!
I just love that you are replanting trees and reusing the earth. Thank you!!!❤ 🌳 🌲
Love how Patrick is helping Tony with planting the trees. What a great idea to use the saplings along the boundary of the chateau. Great way to save money on trees.
Your family is a great example of teamwork.
Thank you 🙏 🥰
I bet, I wasn’t the only one saying `There she is`, when Tracy walked into the scene.
Love how Patrick is helping Toni with the digging
I truly believe you are the most beloved family on KZhead. Long may you continue in good health and happiness. ❤️❤️❤️
That little Patrick is the star of the show every now and then. Terry, you must've trained him well, but swimming season hasn't started quite yet lol. Thanks for another great video.
I have come to cherish you all - you are such wonderful, warm folks- and the progress is amazing.
Patrick is so cuuuute helping Tony dig. Good job all around you guys.
Lots of trees at the lake. Looked much better. I love seeing Patrick running around and digging whenever he can. U guys are great.
Great work clearing the lake! I’ve been dying to see those unkempt trees and debris taken from the lake edge. That little lake has a magical feeling to it and could be an amazing escape area during the hot summer months. When you get the spring flowing back stronger to keep the water clean and the stone walls exposed again it’s going to be a jewel. Lovely to see your good cheer returning so soon. Great episode!
Patrick is adorable, helping out with the digging.
You all are so deserving of the support and the place is looking amazing!
Thank you Susanne!
I love how hard this family works. They have a great time, but there's a real work ethic about them, and they're so appreciative of the peopler who are on the journey with them.
Wow it was so interesting to see the digger pulling out all those trees from the now big lake and Dad planting for a future growth. As always you and the dogs make for interesting videos. Stay safe and carry on. 😍
Gotta love little Patrick! What a great digger
Man, how satisfying was that? Watching that digger clear that lake area was awesome. Right tool for the job always the best results. Nice to see the lake getting healthy again
Please keep us posted as the trees start to take off this spring with green leaves.
Now you'll have to commission a sculpture of a Lady of the Lake for the middle of your lake in the likeness of Tracy!!!! Love that you are planting trees to screen out that busy and noisy highway which everytime I watch your Vlogs I can't help but notice. BTW I received your postcard today( because I'm a patron).... Yahoo it made my day!!!! Cheers from Toronto
😍The pond is very happy & best to take advantage of the machine when ya got them. Saving & using the trees is other areas is brilliant & cost effective. Johnathan will have so many great memories of his involvement to this beautiful château
It was great to see the dog helping you dig! You're all doing a fantastic job. 🇬🇧
Grounds are looking better and better.
Your French neighbours must be absolutely thrilled to see all your hard work bring back life into the Château and the Château grounds. No wonder the cars slow down now on the road in front of your place :). Sending many encouragements from Canada 🇨🇦. (after binge watching, I’m finally catching up. bon courage les amis et bonne continuation!)
You don't need a spade person when you have Patrick!
Such a big accomplishment in decluttering the lake, digging the septic hole, laying the base foundation for the driveway and replanting trees. Everyone gave great effort, including Patrick. Sometimes I think the only break you get is when you do your day's summary on the stairs. God bless.
Wow, I've never seen trees growing on mats of leaves and silt. What a job to clear out the lake. I also think that the wall collapse was a blessing because you already had contractors on site. Sometimes the answer to prayers is that the situation appears to get worse, but that unlocks other opportunities.
Thanks Lisa! I think so too!
My goodness! Didn’t know you had a lake!! That’s awesome! What a difference a day with a digger can make. It’s amazing. It does not take long for scrub trees to take root. You folks just warm my heart with your passion. Thanks and Bless you 🇨🇦🤗
Wow, that piece of equipment used to pull those trees from the lake is awesome! What a feeling of satisfaction that must have been! When one door closes another one …. And on and on. … still a huge admirer from PA, USA.
Wow.....what an amazing job you guys did with the lake....so much debris and mess. Looks so much better, the eco system may even return hopefully! You really are bringing things back to life....love it!!
What a lovely, lovely family, just sitting down with us and talking about what you're doing as if we were there with you! Looking forward to you "cracking on". See you on Sunday!
Wise move to do some clearing out while the diggers are there. Lots of dead trees in the lake. This is so good for it. Patrick sure knows how to dig!!! lol So cute.
Glad to see the trees could be saved and used around the property.
Loved loved love the opening. 😎The closeup shot of Ash holding a treasure. The interesting angles you shot of the trees being pulled out of the kale. The circular video around Ash and Jonathan raking. Superb!!! Bravo!!! Loving all your creativity, Terry. Loved Patrick doin’ his natural thing which is to dig! I feel sooooo much appreciation for all your hard work and how beautifully you all work together. I love this community you’ve allowed us to create with you and the process you’re making with this beautiful property. Thank you for the privilege to enjoy it all with you. 💖✨💖✨💖✨💖✨
Love Patrick digging
Hahahaha! Go Patrick! What an awesome wee helper!
That bed of daffodils is gorgeous!!! Small thing but great impact!
What a satisfying piece of work. Using the equipment that is already there for other projects is the smart thing to do. Looking forward to more videos.
So satisfying to see the lake becomming cleared. And funny to see the little dog help Tony
It's great to see the place coming back to life.
Hi - I have to say, it's a real dachshund you have, he knows how to dig when planting shrubs and trees !! - I have had a dachshund, it was called Vicky and where we lived was a small forest, and it also dug everything it could. Good to have good helpers.
I can see a nice gazebo down by the Lake now for a quiet spot.
Nice to see Patrick helping tony with the digging.. you guys have done an amazing job at the lake, who's up for fishing??...lol
You all do great work. I admire the way you use and reuse, never wasting anything. Keep up the good work, enjoy following you. ❤️
I'm not going to lie. Patrick digging was the highlight for me - too cute!!!
Way to go, Tony, on the tree planting! Patrick is so adorable! He earns his kibble with all his digging assistance! Yes! You reassess what needs to be done on a daily basis. This has helped me to think of the work I need to do on my own half acre called Green Haven. You are right that getting one job done naturally leads to another. Just keep an evolving master list and enjoy the efficiency of getting jobs done as their name comes up. The progress is visible and must feel satisfying to all of you. A la prochaine! 😊❤️🎶🇨🇦👏👏👏
Thanks Kerry-Lynn! Yes Patrick has to be involved if there is a spade involved! He loves it!
Marvellous job again everyone, well worth the time such a transformation. (Finding the loud thumpy music of late rather off putting if I can be honest). I look forward so much to every new episode, thankyou to each and every one of you for allowing us to follow your very personal and exciting journey.x
Wow, so much is getting done right now! I am impressed.....chasing a toddler daily has nothing on you all.
Loved your vlog, The Famous Five plus one excellent digger fur baby working all together, I like all the re planting of the young trees, they certainly will act as a noise barrier, and look fabulous 🙏🏻
Ooh that tree clearing from the lake looked very satisfying and fun! Wish I had been there to help... You all work so hard with such enthusiasm it's an inspiration even if we don't have a lake to rescue, thank you so much for sharing all your work and good humour with everyone 😍
I haven’t seen the lake before, thats wonderful. I’m a gardener, or at least I was,all along I have been mentally planting and landscaping, thinking the trees etc. can be growing while you get on with the Chateau. Wow! A lake?!!
HI ALL. GLAD TO SEE YOU Got PATRICK BUSY gardening with terry lv to all xxx
Oh my giddy aunt ……… I thought you were having a swimming pool dug out ……. Not a poo tank 🤭. 😂. Brilliant work once again guys. Fabulous 👏👏

Truly inspiring development going on well done all of you even Partick knows something about planting trees
Thanks Susan! He is sore foreman! 😂😂
That digger is such a dream, to be able to pull trees out of the lake and dig the septic hole, amazing. I wish that I had a mini digger for all of the jobs I need to do. Tony you are so right when you say one job leads to another. My husband and I have been working on our home and property none stop for two years, it just never seems to end. LOL. Good exercise though, don't need a gym membership. I love watching your vlogs it keeps me motivated in my renovations. You are all amazing.
Tony said he was a man down digging holes….he forgot about Patrick…he was helping to dig…lol
You are a warm, loving and amazing family. You laugh with each other, work super hard and are making tremendous progress. The pond looks fantastic after the cleanup. Love your vlogs! Hugs xx

Wow what a difference that made. Love to see progress being made. You are all a team and work well in making things happen. I too watch many vlogs you all inspire me so much. Peace Love and Happiness!
By the way, you can grow new laurel plants by using cuttings. A very cost effective way to get alot of new plants for your future privacy hedges x
Good morning from South Australia it is now 5.45 am here. Enjoy your vlogs. So much, a family working together is wonderful to see.
Thanks Annette! Have a great day!

There is no way the landscaping will be achieved without Patrick🥰 The lake looks fantastic with that one clean up 👍
And all the fun you guys will have cutting up and moving all those trees from the lake…good fire pit fodder
Raking that gravel is hard work for sure , nice to hear all the possibilities again !
Another great video from you guys, the lake looks awesome. I don't think there's anything you cannot tackle. Best wishes to you all.
Thanks Sean! We’re getting there bit by bit!
Love your Hole Doggy hole digger you could rent him out 😁, the lake is going to come alive now its not clogged up bet its going to be really pretty when you are done. You all are doing great and the results speak for themselves. 🐶🧡
The lake is bigger than it looks, nice you were able to replant some of the trees too. Great job you guys. 🙂😘
Wow, what a great video! Love the drone shots, and can see how close the highway is to the front field. You are utilizing every bit of resource that you can, and always thinking ahead. Kudos to everyone (including Patrick the digger and other doggies). From USA Iowa.
A much better option watching your wonderful videos rather than the not stop depressing news. Your family brings joy.
That is really opening up the shore!
Is Patrick on the payroll? He's one heck of a helper. Who needs a digger when Patrick's around?
So funny seeing even Peter helping with the digging. It's all looking wonderful.
That was a fantastic day for you all accomplished so much
Your soil is beautiful. The garden should be spectacular. I am a serious gardener and wish I had soil like that.
Who needs a spade when you’ve got Patrick😊. You’ve all worked so hard these past few days thank you for including us all in your progress.
I truly love what you all are doing , the care that you put into it awesome 👏
Hard labour but well worth it. Keep up the good work....
