Bonjour à tous,
This week at the chateau, the family start work on Installing the fosse septic system, but first decide to clear the lake from some of the years of neglect with falling trees.
Tony manages to save some of the trees and replants them along the road to create a barrier, and the big dig starts for the fosse septic.

About us,
We are a family from the North-East of England following our dream to restore a beautiful abandoned french Château. We discovered the heart stopping Château De Lalacelle in summer of 2020, this beautiful architectural monument Is set in the countryside of North-West France.
The moment we visited the Château we all fell in love, from the beautiful sweeping landscape and forests, to its stunning untouched interiors and magnificent spiral staircase in the turret.
Unfortunately Château De Lalacelle has been abandoned for a number of decades so will need a lot of restoration and DIY.
Please subscribe and follow our families journey, with the up’s and down’s in moving from the UK to rural France and restoring this beautiful building to its former glory.

  • I watch many ylogs Chateau related. Stephanie, Chateau life, Chateau Love, Everyone of the Pethericks channels, Manor and Maker.... What I love about your channel and family is that you're real and down to earth. You are a blended family. I can relate to raising a grandson. Raised mine from infancy. He is 21 and a hard worker. Always thinking of ways to help me. My dream is someday to visit some of you. I would travel with both grandsons who are construction workers. That is but a dream. Tracey, I have so much admiration and respect for you. Such a hard worker

  • Wow! The difference that first tree being pulled from the lake made is rather eye opening, and that was just the first of the episodes projects. Nice effort on the sapling placement, Tony. Give it 5 years and those saplings will begin to make a difference. On a slight tangent, everyone's camerawork and editing has come on in leaps and bounds from your first episodes.

  • What a difference cleaning out the lake has made, a job that would have been impossible to do by hand. Love the idea of replanting the trees and recycling the sand on the the road. I have no idea how you get so much hard work done but having the whole family chip is a blessing. You truly are my favourite Chateau family 💗

  • Great work clearing the lake! I’ve been dying to see those unkempt trees and debris taken from the lake edge. That little lake has a magical feeling to it and could be an amazing escape area during the hot summer months. When you get the spring flowing back stronger to keep the water clean and the stone walls exposed again it’s going to be a jewel. Lovely to see your good cheer returning so soon. Great episode!

  • Wow, I've never seen trees growing on mats of leaves and silt. What a job to clear out the lake. I also think that the wall collapse was a blessing because you already had contractors on site.
