About us,
We are a family from the North-East of England following our dream to restore a beautiful abandoned french Château. We discovered the heart stopping Château De Lalacelle in summer of 2020, this beautiful architectural monument Is set in the countryside of North-West France.
The moment we visited the Château we all fell in love, from the beautiful sweeping landscape and forests, to its stunning untouched interiors and magnificent spiral staircase in the turret.
Unfortunately Château De Lalacelle has been abandoned for a number of decades so will need a lot of restoration and DIY.
Please subscribe and follow our families journey, with the up’s and down’s in moving from the UK to rural France and restoring this beautiful building to its former glory.

  • Seeing abandoned homes always makes me feel sad because once upon a time they were someone's pride and joy. This is just a wonderful transformation.

  • I am from India and I always find such transformations so incredible. Its hard for me to imagine renovating an entire house from scratch, esp because we rely on getting labour to fix even the tiniest of things. I dont know if its because its cheaper to hire labour for piecemeal jobs or entire renovations, or that we lack knowledge, or getting all of the requisite tools without shelling out money that doesn't justify the cost, we urban indians just cannot imagine taking up such projects. Hence, its even more fascinating to see how a small family puts in their heart into a shell of a house and turns it into a home! There's so much love in this place, and it is so, so beautiful!!

    • same question here 😅. But I'm assuming they must be professional builders and finally they put their skills for something of their own. The man trained his wife or maybe they were in the same profession and eventually they married and the kid learnt from seeing what their parents were doing.

    • Atleast try to do what you can. It's fun planning how to design and decorate your own house. My hubby was always busy on his work so i'm the one who paints and puts on wallpapers. I 'DIY' some of our decors and furnitures and trust me,it's so fulfilling.

    • So true! We have lack of knowledge, lack of equipments and lack of time. But atleast observing and researching on own helps when interacting with masons or labourers or plumbers etc. My mother in her childhood used to be very much involved when her house was getting built. Which is now useful to us whenever there is some issue in the house. Although she won't do it herself but atleast she's there to understand what the other person saying or to convey her thoughts and measures in order to get things fixed.

Your determination and persistence mixed with always hopeful and positive vibes has made it such a pleasure and inspiration to all those of us who have followed your journey.

From Tracy’s “what am I doing here face” at the beginning to her smiley one on every video now. It’s been so enjoyable watching you and I look forward to many future videos. Wishing you all the best.
