Love how aggressive she was when you turned her lose, it's amazing how they fight with everything in their power to get away from the hook. Yet once they know that you are in control, the majority of them just relax, and let you go through the process of weighing, measuring, and tagging them. Truthfully if one over 3' long decided that it wasn't going to just surrender peaceful like; and really decided to put up a real effort to get away from you in the water right beside it. I'm not so sure that you could actually hold on to it if it was trying to use its whole body with teeth trying to get a piece of you. And it's tail end body twisting as hard as it possibly could. That be like trying to hold on to a 10 pound pissed off house cat with all four legs with claws out its head twisting one way body going every which way legs going so many directions at once. They're no where near the size of a 30 to 100 plus gar, and they both really have the ability to inflict some serious damage to a human body d should they absolutely decid to give it every once they have to excape your hold on either one of them.

1.5 once rattle trap is a go to, another is rapala x rap jointed shad, hogy 6.5 protail is also really good. 110-130 whopper plopper for sight fishing gar on the surface. allot of videos on this channel throwing lures of all kinds for them. another really good lure is the yozuri hydro monster shot
