  • Love those big sunfish. I grew up in Indiana, and we fished a really big church pond that had many, many 2+ pound bluegills. They're amazing to catch, especially on light spinning gear. I wish I knew why some places grow huge gills, and other places do not. Obviously, catch and release play into it, but that can't be the only answer.

  • As fun as that looks catching those redear i cant help myself. Here in Southeastern nc i use a 10ft graphite "bream buster" with a floating popping bug and catch my limit most every trip i go. The shellcracker aren't as good eating to me unless there small. The bream we have here we call "copperhead" bream and they are the BEST eating. Watching 1.5lb blue bream hit a poppin bug is amazing
