  • Last year I went fishing for trout and had a rough time. I've been following your videos since and have had great success. My entire setup was all wrong until I found you and your help.Rooster tails are my to go for trout in lakes and streams. Last week I caught 5 trout, 2 of which were 18" off rooster tails. My friends weren't sold on rooster tails until the end of the fishing trip when they had no luck, then switched to rooster tails and finally caught some trout. Thanks for the videos!

  • I would like to dispute what you believe is the Top 3...the three you presented are helpful for stocked fisheries. i would add one of the most deadly and fun is a simple Ultra-light rod/reel, a Bubble and a Fly. 4lb test, 5 or 6x tippet...4ft, then a simple brass swivel. slide the Bubble above the swivel, tie on the swivel, tie on tippet then choice of fly. Smaller is better in a size 18 or 22. Fill the bubble half way with water. That allows for the weight needed to cast out a long way w/a Ultra Light. Vary the retrieve as you would a Lure. You can fis a dry fly or a wet, Dropper/Fly method. It's a great way for kids to have fun vs watching a pole with bait. Very nice video

Personally I don't use scissors to cut my work I just rip them with my hands but I never used the hole wear it was ripped to insert the hook. I would just hook the worm on and I feel like that is the main reason why my worms always get taken.

When I'm hanging out at the lakes here in AZ I like to wade out with my tenkara rod and go to town on some gills and sunnies. I only really get to fish for trout in the winter unless I travel north. The Lower Salt River gets stocked with some really nice trout during the winter here.

  • My favorite rooster tail is the rooster tail minnow line. They seem to get hit so hard and they have a great flash because of the flakes and the minnow profile and eye design. I like to use an all fluorocarbon 4lb test line because it doesn't float and I use a snap swivel to reduce the line twist. I don't see any issues with fish being spooked by the snap swivel where I fish.

  • My goto lures are the kastmasters and krocodiles in natural colors such as silver, copper, gold, and or the half and halfs like silver and red, blue, orange, and green theres also the fire perch color works pretty well. Never really been a hue fan of rooster tails but sometimes theyre the only thing that will get bites and its always the glittery orange one with either a silver blade or a gold blade.

  • I fished on a lake last summer exactly like that. You never see a trout jumping. I tried everything, inflated worm from the bottom, powerbait, spinners (all kind), floats with worm and nothing. The only fish you catch there are rudd fish and sometimes chubs. I get the feeling that there were no trout left in there (there is a pike problem, but nobody is able to cath them as well). If i change my location I catch plenty of fish. Thank you for the tips!
