One thing that I really have to point out is that Toyota is the only brand I see that never forgets their past vehicles.

@@nathansharma87 I mean them a bit too, but Nissan hasn't had as crazy of a History. But Toyota rewinds way more.
They love to lean on their past for promotions but faithfully discontinue parts for their old vehicles. Unlike Porsche and Mercedes Benz who want to keep their legacy vehicles up and running and are dedicated to keeping OEM parts availability going.
After many years the Iconic Land Cruiser Prado is back on The USA & Canada
It has never left, the Prado was always here behind the Lexus GX470/460 badges.
The Prado has returned, but has also never left. Also, the new "Prado" is really just the 300-series underneath. There is no longer a difference between the 'heavy duty' and 'light duty' Land Cruisers.
@@mononeo I wish that were the case, but the LC250 Prado is nothing like the 300 Series. At least in the US, the 300 Series (LX600) has a 3.5L V6 w/ 10 speed ATM while the Prado has a 2.4L 4 cylinder hybrid w/ 8 speed ATM. While the Prados are still considered 'light duty,' the 70 Series continues to make up Toyota's 'heavy duty' cruiser class. The 300s, 200s, 100 series, etc. actually fall under a separate 'station wagon' class.
@@csand55 In the United States we get the same 3.44L TT V6 from the LC 300 in the GX 550 and LX 600, both of which are essentially the same car as the 300 series underneath. I’m actually not mistaken and used to think what you think!
@@mononeo I thought you were referring to the LC250 'Prado' shown in the video here, not the Lexus GX550 'Prado,' which does have a comparable drivetrain to the 300 Series' 3.4L TT V6. I've wondered why the 3.4L isn't an option on the LC250. It also looks like the LX gets 60hp more out of that drivetrain than the GX.

@@toyotausadon’t go patting yourself on the back. Your dealership experience is horrible and needs a total revamp. Nobody selling your vehicles knows anything about them when you visit a dealership. Southeast Toyota in Florida has to have some of the worst most condescending people selling your product. Not just one or two dealerships either. Out of control market adjustments and dealer fees as well as port added options are things that are ruining the brand for many people.
It'd be great if you could option the 1958 with the Stabilizer Disconnect Mechanism (SDM)!

I have to agree why would I buy a launch edition Land Cruiser for 74k when now with discounts I can go to Jeep and get a wrangler rubicon 392 for around the same price but the other trims are priced fairly.

When you're making a vehicle that will be on the road for 25+ years, it makes sense to give it good MPG! I love that it's a hybrid now!
I wonder if the battery will last that long, and if not, how expensive it will be to replace.
@@EphemeralThought my father was a taxi cab driver who had a gen 2 Prius with 450,000+ miles on the original battery. The batteries last the lifetime of the car in almost all circumstances.

This ad looks cool with the old Cruisers, and it appears that Toyota supports their heritage, but the list of discontinued/NLA parts for my FJ62 is growing daily, and the list is long. 😞
If Toyota had any sense they would recognize their legacy is special and support OEM parts. Porsche and Mercedes Benz get it.

Get your dealer network in order. It’s miserable having to go into one of your dealerships and deal with these guys. #1 they know absolutely nothing about the vehicles. #2 They’re condescending and rude. I’m the customer and get talked to like I’m a child because I don’t like the feeling of being ripped off. #3 Southeast Toyota is the absolute worst. Nobody wants to deal with slimy dealers and these guys take the cake. Out of control dealer fees and markups are killing your brand loyalty. Especially for normal folks. I work in a hospital and used to recommend Toyota to my family and colleagues but no more. After constantly feeling ripped off I can no longer do so. Might not matter now, but eventually more and more people doing this will have a negative affect. Straighten up and let people buy direct from the manufacturer and get rid of these crooks selling your product.

You're upset with a dealer which has zero to do with Toyota. Still number one for resale, safety, reliability and still sells the most cars in the world even during covid. I'd like to know the brand you now recommend to people because you most certainly will still run into those same problems especially at large dealers regardless of the brand. Dealer fees are based off the state they are in and markups above msrp are based off supply and demand for that dealer too which you don't have to pay at all just wait longer or go somewhere else goooofy lolo

It has 8 inches of ground clearance and combination of 4 cylinder turbo and hybrid. For that price I guess GX460 is a better choice.

I live in Japan, so PLEASE tell home base to hurry up and release this 250 series here! The clutch in my '07 Civic Type R just died today *only 8 hours after this video was released*. I've been lusting after this LC250 for months now. Pls take my money! lol My very first car was a '79? '80? Toyota Corolla Tercel hatch, and I think it's time to come back home.

@joanna8347 Brand new 4runners START at late 40k, the LC has to be a tier above the 4Runner, so it's expected to start in late 50s. If you're talking brand new, you better hurry, GXs go for low 60s with discounts.

@toyotausa I put 400+ miles a week on my 09 LC 200, commuting in a mix of snow, washboard, ice, highway, and city terrain. The LC has 175k miles and is still the best driving vehicle I have ever owned. I would love to collaborate with you on a video series featuring the new gen vehicles and compare with the LC and my fleet of 4 other Toyota / Lexus vehicles. LMK.

Swap em out easy. They're both LED bulbs so the wiring will be exacltly the same. I bet many other people will do the same.

GXs have never had a manual in its 22 years of production, none of the Lexus 4x4 had a manual period. Get a Tacoma if you want a manual.
still too expensive. why not just buy a base gx550 instead of the land cruiser trim. Who is gonna spend near 60k for cloth seats. or better yet buy a left over gx460 for less money and 4 more cylinders.
Totally agree, but the base 550 is almost 70k and doesn't have any off road features save for transfer case locker. If i'm getting a new GX i want it to finally have a rear locker and some crawl control as my current GX460

At this price point I will be purchasing the Lexus GX550. Would rather have the Turbo 6 for not much more at all. Also, no power seats for a 60k base model?? Come on….

@@Christian-lw5vw Yes, saw a 15k mark up on a hybrid Rav4 during the 2021 craze. Same year 4 runners had 5 to 10k mark ups, one deal in california wanted 30k over sticker on a 4Runner Trd Pro

This is the 4th generation Land Cruiser PRADO. The succesor to the almighty LC200, is the new LC300 sold everywhere else except the USA, its bigger, more powerful, better suspension, better 4x4 technology, there´s even a Gazoo Racing variant.
New Land Cruiser looks great! Is it just me or does it seem like the narration in this commercial was written and read by Ai? Sounds unnatural and doesn’t flow well.
Close to $60K OTD for base version after fees, taxes and if you're lucky no mark ups. Toyota has lost it's mind.
Pretty disappointed the hybrid has almost as bad of mpg as the 4runner.

For the price of the first edition Land Cruiser, you can purchase a stronger (V6 and torque)), better (off-road) SUV in the Lexus GX550 Overtrail. Why would anyone buy the Land Cruiser?
Let's just hope that Toyota figures out to save ICE engine. They are the only one stood strong against climate nonsense.
