  • I will bet anyone 100 bucks they sprayed this bike with salt water before filming. I've been restoring bikes for decades and i have NEVER seen a bike with rust so red or with no pitting or rotting in the metal. beautiful restoration, no argument, but if you are telling me you didn't doctor this for youtube, then this was a unicorn.

    • Most impressive is how none of the rusted bolts broke. And it's just inmpossible to wash off corrosion like on 26:20. I guess most of the rust here is just made with rust-effect paint

  • Brings back old memories. I used to own a CB-100 in the late 80’s, early 90’s when I was living in Jamaica (I’m in Canada, now). The CB-100 is very similar to this one in the video. Those bikes were very reliable and easy to maintain and fix. Especially if you have a Hanes Shop Manual for it and good tools. It was also very good on gas. My CB-100 got about 120 miles/gallon. The tank took 2 gallons. That bike was my FREEDOM! I loved that bike and I miss it. Sold it to my brother-in-law when I migrated.

    • No, this is a heavily-modified CG125, and it looks very little like it did in the showroom. Someone in the past has customised it with a different cut-down seat, different front and rear mudguards, rear lights and indicators, as well as removing the the side panels and chain guard, plus the different exhaust.

  • One of the most reliable engines out there! Had a cheap Chinese dual sport with a 250cc engine. It was cloned after the Honda cg engine and everything looks exactly the same to a tea! Even though the engine on the dual-sport was made of cheap materials it made up for it by being designed so well! Had the bike for about 3k miles before I sold it for another bike. The engine never gave me any issues and I beat the crap out of it.

Having said that, wonder why a little more thought and maybe some really quality leather/vinyl didn’t go into the seat? Seemed like one of the final touches, not to mention comfort when riding was treated somewhat like an afterthought. Anyway, I don’t mean to be critical, I can’t imagine how much time goes into something like this. Congrats on a beautiful restoration.

  • Great restoration! I was wondering however, having removed all the rust from the chromework, did you give those parts a coating of lacquer to prevent further rusting? Many years ago, I once cleaned an old chrome motorcycle luggage rack which came off my Honda CB125S. Having removed all the rust, without further thought, I just put it back on the bike. within a month however, with the bike being used in all weathers, the rack started to rust up again so I had to take it off and clean it again, this time giving it a coating of lacquer. It didn't stop the rust for ever but it did take several years for the rust to start reappearing.

I am an Iranian, I watched this video and it was interesting to me that a Honda 125 is being rebuilt, because this type of motorcycle is still produced in Iran and people ride it, and in the eyes of Iranians, this motorcycle has a long life, parts It is famous for its cheapness, high power, and beauty, and it is produced in Iran in Handy, Handy, and Starty types and in 125, 150, and 200 cc engine sizes. It is interesting to know that I also have a model of this motorcycle that has square lights and a simpler appearance. I have never seen its trail model before and I am not familiar with this model. • The hose that runs from the valve cover to that intake pipe is the engine's crankcase breather. The lubricating oil of the engine gets hot, always in addition to a lubricating effect, the oil also cools the bearings and other parts. That oil therefore becomes hot and vaporizes in the crankcase. So there is some pressure there.

  • Install the piston the proper way. That hurt to watch. Hammering the head onto the piston/piston rings is a good way to damage something or give yourself major oil consumption issues

  • Seriously, though.....is this some sort of social experiment?

    • Social experiment? LoL. No music, no words, one guy restoring a motorcycle. That's it. By the way, he did an excellent restoration.

    • @@user-gp2px8kr5d What I meant, was how is this getting so many 'well done, brilliant' comments, when there are REAL restorers on YT, not just tinkerers. To call this guy a 'tinkerer' is doing him great credit, as the end result was a pile of poo! I'm just pointing out the obvious.

      @theymusthatetesla3186@theymusthatetesla31863 ай бұрын
    • @@theymusthatetesla3186 Those that can do. Those that can't watch, and in some cases complain. To call what he did poo is bullshit in itself. If you didn't like what he did, why bother watching? You're one of those who couldn't simply enjoy the process. It's a restoration, not a customization. He accomplished his goal. Oh, and it started.

  • AWESOME! The only disappoint thing about this video for me is the lack of use of a torque wrench. Missing that satisfying click and the knowledge that it's tighten correctly and sufficiently. 😂

  • Really enjoyed the video!! The only part that was difficult to watch was 22:10 installing the cylinder,the way you just smacked it down over the piston?!? Do you not have to align and compress the rings on this bike?!?. Anyway watch every minute and il watch many more! 👊🏻🇬🇧
