You have a special visit with the Professor who performs a few tests to determine how you respond to certain A.S.M.R. stimuli. He also uses his computer to keep track and update your records throughout the session, while divulging some information about himself and the ongoings at the facility.
The Professor meant to perform a more thorough test with a laundry list of triggers. Unfortunately, he ran out of time as there are other patients he must attend.

What is ASMR?
To me, ASMR is 2 things: a sensation and a medium (like music for example).
The sensation itself (ASMR) stands for Autonomous Sensory Meridian Response and is the current (non-scientific) name given to the feeling characterized as a pleasurable tingling sensation felt in the head, scalp, back and other regions of the body in response to visual, auditory, tactile, olfactory, and/or cognitive stimuli, such as crinkling bags, hand movements, whispering and personal attention. It's like goosebumps, but much more pleasant.
ASMR videos, the medium, are not only meant to help induce the sensation or "tingles" in the viewer, but also help provide a relaxing, calming and soothing experience for the viewer. They often help those dealing with anxiety, stress, headaches, insomnia, mental health issues, concentrating, studying and more. It is quite therapeutic, for both the creator and recipient, which is not that much different than the mediums of music and painting, for example.
Many people who do not experience ASMR still enjoy the videos for their calming and sleepy effect.
I feel very relaxed, knowing that Nyarlathotep, a being that could destroy the whole earth, is performing ASMR tests on me.

I have been watching this channel and many other ASMR channels for about a year now. And I wish I could experience ASMR, I have no idea what it would feel like
You really should write a book with all your characters in it with a plot twist! I think people would like to see how you really see your world and every place the characters has in it. Just a book with no ASMR reference in it, just your creativity with an awesome story including your many characters!

What rift needs to do now is create some lore linking the sensation of asmr in the audience and what the old ones desire, i.e the sensation produces power for them or helps in opening rifts, this would also help to create a grander subtext for these sort of videos and would make the "personal attention" more sinister, just a thought anyway.
